    Amazing! Is there another video kicking around that shows how all the individual fibreglass mold pieces come together?

    Instead od waxing, try mold release - Frekote PMC from Loctite. Its not transfering on the figure so you don't have to sanding.

    • @AdenHynesSculptureStudios
      @AdenHynesSculptureStudios  Před 2 lety

      Sanding is always required unfortunately. Not only is the surface imperfect in places anyway, and always requires working up, but the surface needs to be sanded and keyed so that the paint takes hold too.

    Another beautiful project. How do you join the 2 parts of the mold together once you can no longer get your hands inside ?

    Hi from Kansas, USA. I have a couple of questions. Q: Why are the cow horns twisted and not balanced? Q: Why is a cow being used and not a steer?

      Hey Karen. In answer to both questions, it's what the client wanted 😊

    Great work. I notice when doing animal sculptures you go for the shiny look, client's choice I guess. However if anyone asked for a hairy beast, have you heard of static grass as made by Noch and Woodland scenics. I reckon it'd look grouse

    • @AdenHynesSculptureStudios
      @AdenHynesSculptureStudios  Před 2 lety

      Usually the gloss option is chosen so that the sculpture is easier to clean and wipe down. And we haven't tried anything like that

    How did you make the original cow mold?

    • @AdenHynesSculptureStudios
      @AdenHynesSculptureStudios  Před 10 měsíci

      Years and years ago, we polystyrene carved the master pattern, which a client requested look like an existing model to have more created. We then took a fibreglass mould. Since then, we've created a couple of new moulds from a cast, to refresh the mould life.

    Okay, how about if you're making a new mold, make a "beef" cow. This one is a 'dairy' cow.
    Went to an Agricultural High School many years ago & the body types are vastly different. I might be only one in 50 people who cares, but, a "beef" cow really looks much more 'appetizing', then a dairy cow ! Lol. And, one of the most popular beef cows is an Angus ! They are from Scotland, so would be very fitting for your Scottish clients !
    I think the dairy cows are fine for advertising ice cream or cheese, but a bit boney for a steak house !
    My 2 cents. Disregard at your leisure ! ;)
    Great video otherwise !

      It's a Polled Hereford, but yes a Bull would be better.
