I was looking into this product and glad I ran across your video. Thanks for taking the time to showcase the work you found.

No problem. Go with DreamScreen 4K. There might be a few others out there now doing a better job too.

Is there any led strips with a 4k box. Is there any that actually work? Some are ok but not what I would expect with today's technology. Thanks for the help.

179 isnt actually too bad, considering the raw parts costs are like 60 bucks, selling it for 3x the raw costs is not uncommon as you put time into it.
and even if he made a pcb with all the same crap on it ( assuming you can even find those specialized chips, its datasheets and a lib documentation ), what would be different?
i think a one-board solution would be much cleaner but also much more expensive. i bet you couldnt even make just the SBC alone for less than what this costs.
so if it works it works.
also repairs are made very easy. sd card backup, if anything breaks its standard parts you find on ali. basically the first result when searching for hdmi splitter.. hdmi2av converter.. videograbber etc.
and if you dont need it anymore, you dont need to throw it away. you can salvage parts, this orange pi sbc is quite useful.

Hope you get a refund. Terrible stuff! BTW would you mind sharing the STL files for the Stepper motor mounts? Building a Mag loop myself. Great work!

@@TookBurrow Thanks very much! I've shared it on a FB Mag loop group. Further thought on the case. I bet they bought those cases as rejects from some other product and did some mods to them.

@@W4TRI that is possible. The logo was formed into the plastic though. Might just be that they wanted to launch a crowd funded campaign. Come to think of it, I think that's how they got started.
