I already love you two. Born in 70 and omg, I'm so thankful for that. Even though it means I'm getting old, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
"Like a rock" and "Turn the page" are two of my personal favourites.
For me it's "Turn the Page" and "Hollywood Nights"
@@DanielFrost21 The Strut!!
I think Bob Seger resonated with so many people because he just seems like a regular guy you could sit down and drink a beer with.
2:09: "His voice is so captivating"......I agree baby girl. His voice just pulls you in and doesn't let go.
Nobody in rock music ever did looking back on their life with a kind of bittersweet nostalgia better than Bob Seger - it's a theme in a lot of his best music.
Bob Seger is a great rock singer, songwriter & musician known for his raspy powerful voice. He wrote & recorded songs that dealt with love, women & blue-collar themes. He had so many great songs especially in the 70's-80's such as "Turn The Page", "Still The Same", "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", "Hollywood Nights", "Against The Wind", "You'll Accomp'ny Me", "Shame On The Moon", "Roll Me Away", "Like A Rock", "Shakedown", "We've Got Tonight", "Old Time Rock & Roll" etc.
Beautiful loser, Traveling Man, Katmandu, Night Moves...
Don't forget 'The Famous Final Scene'
Ramblin Gamblin Man was the first Segar song I ever heard and it blew me away. I bought the 45 and played the grooves off.
Bob is a great singer, musician, and performer, but he is a PHENOMENAL songwriter. When you really listen to the syories he tells! Amazing!
Donât forget âRoll me Awayâ and âTurn the Pageâ. Bobâs voice is the best. And his band is great
Excellent suggestions.
Bob is Incredible her strut is one of my favorites
I know this street he is talking about.. I have been on it alot as it is only about 15 miles from where I live. And I think of this song ever time I am there!!!!!
I lived in Ann Arbor during my younger years, which is where Bob Seger is from, and know exactly the street and club he is singing about.
Y'all should do the live version of "Hollywood Nights ". It'll really show you what a Bob Segar concert was like.
You will love any Seger music. TAKE IT from a Detroit Man that grew up with him! He's a Rock n Roll Hall of Famer! Enjoy yr Reviews!
No one paints the picture like Seger. I remember being younger and hearing Stranger In Town album and was hooked. Huge catalog of hits, keep them coming please!!!
Same album that hooked me! flash 40 whatever years later and I am in Alto's bedroom breaking down songs from Live Bullet while on a small break on last tour!!
Great reaction. Bob is an incredible songwriter. I was fortunate enough to see him in the late 70's at the Philadelphia Spectrum. I encourage you to watch the official video for the song "Like a Rock". It will touch your hearts, plus it's got a great guitar solo that compliments the song. A very nostalgic song about our faded youth. You have heard snippets of it on truck commercials. Enjoy. Thanks!
That's my favorite song of Bob Segar. It helps to be a little older to really get what Bob's singing about. At 59 years of age, it really resonates with me, even more so than when the song came out.
Need some rocking Bob Seger: "Rock and Roll Never Forgets"; "Katmandu"--live version; "Feel Like a Number"; "Betty Lou's Getting Out Tonight"; "Shakedown"
I'm from Michigan where Bob is a god, and I love his music so damn much, and this song is my favorite of his, and that's hard to say with all his amazing songs.
One of the best albums my opinion.. Bob Segar great performer
Best ever !!
So many of Segerâs songs spark nostalgia. Just the tone of the guitar in this one adds to the story.
Bob Seger is an extraordinary story teller through his kick-ass music.
I love to watch a mom and daughter getting along so well. Family is one of the most important things of all. Good job as always.
Thank you Willie, such a lovely thing to say. We completely agree! We're glued to the hip.
If you want to trace Bob's earliest work then check out one of his earliest bands called Bob Seger and The Last Heard song called East Side Story.
Main Street is my second favourite Bob Seger song. Till it Shines is my favourite. Thank you for reacting.
Sunspot Baby is another excellent song by Bob Seger
Nobody can tell a story the way Bob Seeger tells a story
BOB SEGER rocks ever an ever!!!!!
Kid Rock inducted him into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Two Detroit boys. ;)
Bob told the story of this song the last time I saw him in concert. It actually took place on Ann St, just off of Main in Ann Arbor, MI. There was a jazz and blues club with big windows in the front. Bob was too young to get in, but there was one girl who was there all the time. She would dance to the music toward the front of the club, and he would see her there all the time. He was infatuated with her.
The 70s was the decade of the singer eongwriter storyteller - hands down! Wonderful time!
The intro guitar is from session musicians at Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. In live performances Alto Reed substituted the Sax for the electric guitar.
LOVE Segar!!!! love the two of yours variety and genre's
He is one of the best storyteller rocker!
Bob is a living legend
And let's not forget Tom Cruises Debut headline movie, Risky Business and his Under wear scene dancing to the tune of Bob Segers 'Old Time Rock N' Roll" đ
Years ago Bob Costas had a late night talk show and Bob Seger did a two part interview during which he chain smoked constantly , that's where the voice comes from . In one song he claimed to smoke five packs a day .
On the live bullet album the way turn the page and beautiful loser sound is a must listen! Bob Seger rocks!
One of the few to be in The rock and roll hall of fame and song writer hall of fame. It's been said he doesn't know how to write a bad song. He was also mentor to a young man in high school by the name of Glen Fry who would become a founding member of The Eagles!
Don't shy away from Bob's older work. You will like it too.
Bob Segers Albums in the 70s were recorded in Muscle Shoals at Fame studio The house band nick named the Swampers played on those albums Very talented studio musicians I believe It's Jimmy Johnson on the guitar here
So cool to see Bob getting the respect he deserves from reactors from all ages. He's a one-in-a-million talent!
Still the Same, Turn the Page, Hollywood Nights, Like a Rock. All are REQUIRED listening :) Also. smoky beat is a fantastic phrase! There are no bad Bob Seger songs but they are fun to try to find.
His songs tell the stories of growing up in the Upper mid west... From Night moves to Roll me away and Turn the page.... his songs really tell my life story.
What you thought was a guitar was actually a horn, a reed instrament, not sure what kind. But his horn player, Alto Reed, was a key part of the band.
Well keep going. One of the greatest singer, songwriters to ever put pen to paper. May I suggest "Against the Wind". Your Mother knows it. You might also from Forrest Gump.
Roll Me Away and Against The Wind, Stories of my life!
Love Bob's music I remember when it was new. I really love "Turn the Page ".
Bob Seger is one of my all time favorite singer-songwriters. He's a product of the upper Midwest music scene around Detroit, Michigan. He draws influence from the blues, soul, rock, even motown. I have every album he has released. If you think "Night Moves" is good, you definitely need to check out the albums "Stranger In Town" with iconic tracks "Hollywood Nights", "Old Time Rock and Roll," and "We've Got Tonight". Another classic Seger album is "Against The Wind" with the title track being one of his biggest hits. It also features the classic songs " You'll Accompany Me" and "Her Strut.' Bob's raspy voice and songs of love and blue collar America give off a musical vibe like no other. It's an absolute joy watching you react to his music alongside your mom! Well done!! Keep the reactions coming!
P.S.check out his live performance of "Turn The Page" from his iconic "Live Bullet" release! You'll be glad you did!!
"Turn the Page" is a great song.
"Turn The Page" now that's Bob's voice! đ
When you do some Christmas music Bob has a great rendition of Little Drummer Boy. Youâll love it.
So glad you reacted to Mainstreet!! Have always loved that haunting guitar riff!!! And that guitar solo and the outro are works of art. Each note crafted perfectly!!
Sexiest vocals and crying guitar just grabs your soul. One word... Soulful.
Another great story song by him is "Roll me away."
My favorite isstill his first. Ramblin Gamblin man. If you like his rough voice you'll love that one
In 1970 The Bob Seeger System opened some concerts for Jethro Tull.
Add "Her Strut" to your list for a little harder rockin music!
Thank you so much ladies. Bob has stated that the street he was singing about is Ann Street, just off Main Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he grew up...
"come to papa" has a funky vibe that you will love
His first hit was "Ramblin Gamblin Man" in 1969. Great song. Another one of my favorite is "Her Strut"
Man I love Bob Seger, of my past the one thing I truly miss is our Music, often unable to be pigeon holed into any one category you had no problem find something you liked. Want a Fun Bob Seger song, "Sunspot Baby". I never seemed to fit in but I reveled in that, who wants to be like everyone else?
I grew up and i heard these songs. I'm so glad.
As albums you can't go wrong with greatest hits, especially for someone with really no memories of Bob.
I always saw him as an aging older bouncer in this song. Who falls in love with a younger woman dancer and can't bring himself to tell her his real feelings, but would do anything to protect her. Even from the shadows.
The WHOLE album is his best, also check out "Live Bullet" from 1975, a year before this album.
against the wind is my favorite B.S. song like a rock is second
Recorded at the famous Muscle Shoals Sound Studio w/ The Swampers Musicians who owned the studio, along with Pete Carr on Lead guitar đž
my favorite song by him is TIL IT SHINES
Saw him in the eighties one of the best sounding concerts I've ever been to. Sounded exactly like he does on the album unbelievable show
segers greatest hits and or bob seger live . both are great
A play on words : Bob Seger is 2 + 2 to Night Moves known as the Detroit Boy that was always Running Against the Wind. Like a Rock he was Shamed by the Moon so Turn the page to find more hits. Just Roll With it and You'll Accompany Me all the way down Main Street.
Please please keep doing Seger. Being from Michigan brings back so many memories. âLike a rockâ âAgainst the Windâ âRoll me awayâ âFire lakeâ âFine memoryâ Hope all is well with you, love from Michigan
You would truly enjoy Bob Segar Like a Rock .
It's Seger NOT Segar!
You have to listen to Like A Rock, just a great song!!!!!!
Bob was one that got me through the disco era. Thanks!
I remember going back to the music stroe to get the Beautiful Loser album.
Generation Ladies
Bob Seger recently retired from touring. He had long a tour to finish his touring career. I believe that Bob might continue making music even though he is retired.
Early in his career, Bob recorded live concert album called "Live Bullet"
YOUNEED to buy the Live Bullet album by Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band!
Bob Seger is an outstanding singer-songwriter and you'll always get a good story from all of his songs. Some other songs to check out from him are "Turn The Page", "Like A Rock", "Still The Same", "Against The Wind" and "Fire Lake".
â€đčâ€. X 2
Every song of him is great, but 3 are like together, each went in top 5, Night Moves, Still the Same, and Against the Wind. Then for faster, harder rock of him, Hollywood Nights, Feel like a Number, and Making Thunderbirds! Then slow soft ones, Shame on the Moon, Comin' Home, and We've got Tonight. Then My favorites, Like a Rock, The Fire Inside, and #1 favorite, Roll Me Away. You'll love all
77 and still touring!đ
If we are in a Bob Seger mood how about "Like a Rock?
You should really listen to Old Time Rock and Roll, We've got Tonight, You'll Accompany Me, and Still the Same. Great songs and so popular. There are many more, but these are gold.
There is a video of this song and it is nice to see you get what Bob Seger is about, a master story teller. Try "Turn the Page". It is another Seger story that you won't need a video to understand the story/ song.
Ok here us a song from Bob that doesnt get requested a lot, but is perhaps one of his very best. Its a really upbeat piano beat and has a truly masterful story if young adults social struggles. Its called The Fire Inside and u wont regret checking it out
You should listen to "The Famous Final Scene".
Excellent choice and commentary. Seger's vocal rasp works great with his everyman lyrical themes.
Buy it..every track on this album is a masterpiece
My fave (of many) by him... this is such a great guitar intro too.....love it....try Her Strut, You'll Accompany Me, Fire Lake, We've Got Tonite
My wife and I saw him a couple of years ago in Columbus Ohio. Best concert ever. My favorite artist. Great rabbit hole to go down. My fave is "Like a Rock!". You may recognize this one, was in a Chevy truck commercial. Love your reactions!
Traveling Man/ Beautiful Loser is a fast paced rock song that was two songs blended into one song.
Hollywood Nights and Roll Me Away shows his hard rock sounds
Im trom the Moter City got to see Bob many times you have got check Bob Seger live a COBO Hall i got ro be there great live show .
you love these first 2 songs, you are gonna love many more just as varied but still the same if ya get my drift. enjoy, Bob Seager and the Silver Band one of the best.. just keeps getting better from here on in trust me.
Great reaction! I suggest "Like a Rock " next
One of my favorites is Shame on the Moon just beautiful. But you really can't go wrong with any of his songs there all pretty magical.
One of Bob's great covers since he didn't write it. One of his best songs is 'The Famous Final Scene', it's a heartbreaking masterpiece.
Bob Seger is the cornerstone of the sound track of my life. I'm 62.
I love your family stories! I couldn't wear my mom's clothes, being of a contrasting gender, but I did wear her softball jersey from her work softball team. I wore it until it literally fell apart. I wish I still had it. Fortunately like you I still have my mom; I get to see her this Saturday. Keep up the good work, ladies!
My personal favorite is Still the Same.
Gotta do his songs You'll Accompany Me and We've Got Tonight. Lovely ballads.
I can go with "manly." I had the great good fortune to see him in concert in 1996 when the "It's a Mystery" tour came through KC. Can something be electric and laid back? Somehow he pulled it off. Great song. Thanks. BTW, love the jewelry Mom. I think we have some of the same "accessories sensibility."
Great song but have no clue why most requested lol Bob is a rock Icon in writing singing and performing!! Against The Wind Album was his most successful and probably his best studio work. Whole Live Bullet Album is flawless!! He has always been my fav. Saw him 26 times on his last tour. there is early bob from 68-72 the from 73-80 was his prime pure rock and roll genius 83-present he mixes it up but the albums are Very high quality. His last few are really really good albums. Last tour they played and he sang as good if not better that they did 20 years before!!! Amazing artist for any time.
I love Mama Gap kind of explaining how you might not have heard Bob Seger before. đ€Ł You two are great. Thanks for the reaction.
ETA - yes, both songs are on the same album
This is a very , very deep rabbit hole to go down...but worth it...oh and he did arguably the best version of The Little Drummer Boy...probably 20 - 25 other worthy songs that will be recommended and really no 2 sound the same
