#Mainstreet #BobSeger #Reaction - Zábava
I grew up listening to Bob Seger. I now have a friend, whose Mom went to High School with Bob in Detroit, Michigan. According to her, Bob used to fall asleep in class all the time because he was out at all the MoTown bars till the wee hours. She asked him on several occasions if he was worried about his grades. She says he replied EVERYTIME with, I don't need this shit, I'm gonna be a Rock Star.
WOW!
You figured out Bob's music. He is an extraordinary storyteller in his lyrics and marries it with superb music and great musicianship.
dont forget 'sunburst'
Roll me Away really shows off his songwriting skills. Amazing tune!!
Agreed. That track remains a personal favorite of mine.
Favorite of mine too.
Roll me Away is my absolute favourite of the many Bob Seger songs.
In the ultimate Bob Seger tribute band called “Beautiful Loser” and Roll Me Away is our lead singer’s favorite Seger song to sing ;)
Bob Seger is late 70's. End of story. He is gritty, real, and downtown at its best.
For some of Bob's hard-driving rockers, check out "Feel Like a Number", "Katmandu", "Shakedown", "Rock and Roll Never Forgets", and "Old Time Rock & Roll".
We've got tonight is one of my faves
Please don't ever feel left out of this music. We all heard it for time once. A few years ago, I bought a greatest hits CD of his. It blew my mind as I looked over the song list and realized just how many of his songs I knew every word to. He is a true jewel. Thank you.
Just the tone of the guitar invokes nostalgia. Her body softly swaying to that smokey beat, what a visualization!
The best song for Me, God bless you!
I adore the fact that you're reacting to this song. Too many reactors manage to listen to everything all around it, and just somehow manage always to miss this one. To me, this one and Night Moves are side-by-side as my favorite Seger songs. And, being my favorite Seger songs means they're two of my 20 or so favorite songs of any genre. This takes me right back to being about 13, standing on the sidewalk on "main street," it was actually called Dakota Avenue, of a small town in Eastern North Dakota, outside a bar called The Oasis, that had a sign in the front window advertising "EXOTIC DANCERS," and straining to see between the window frame and curtain to catch glimpses of motion from the stage that just might or might not have been shadows of the dancers. Heck, this song made me feel nostalgic the first time I ever heard it, and I was only 18 when that first listen happened.
I love when people share memories
Authentic. Soul fed rock. Belted out with heart and conviction. What more could you ask for.
I was 7 when i first heard Bob, my oldest brother was 19 this was 1972. The whole family listened to him. Midwestern Boy! Raised in the Detroit area. I’ve seen him 4 times in concert. My last concert was his final tour in 2019 in my hometown of Green Bay WI. He said he will never tour again his Sax player and best friend Alto passed away in 2020. Bobs music is very therapeutic. My all time favorite song is
Turn the Page
His catalog of song is HUGE
Here are a few of them
Old Time Rock n Roll
We Got Tonight
Against the Wind
Like a Rock (you might this song from a commercial). I think you should check this one out first.
Roll me Away
Still the Same
Hollywood Night
Her Strut
Feel Like A Number
You’ll accompany me
He also did a crossroads with Jason Aldeen (country music) it’s fabulous. They did: Against the Wind, Hollywood Night and Turn the Page. Listen to this after you listen to Bob only on these 3 songs sorry so long, Bob is my therapy, he gardens with me everyday. I love your channel. I’m listening to your other one right now. Crisp Autumn Day
Best storyteller ever!
Roll Me Away…one of his best!
You got it!! That lead guitar lick is etched into our brains forever. :) "Mainstreet" is my favorite Seger song. It's the whole package. Seger's songs always produce a visual story. 😁
This is truly one of Bob Seger's most beautiful songs.
I remember well when it was released.
Good times.
PS. Love Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
Bob is a really deep rabbit hole. If you have a month or 2 of videos in you, you can dig into early Bob, night moves Bob, live Bob.
A lot of people assume that Bob is singing about a strip bar....actually no. Bob grew up in Ann Arbor Michigan and at the time, they had bars that had "Go Go" dancers in the clubs - women that would be on pedestals and dance throughout the club.....hence the phrase "Go Go Dancers". They were fully dressed, but probably in tight outfits. A very young Bob Seger would be under age (only watching from the outside "through the glass") and had a crush on one of them. Great song! I have seen him 6 times and every time was memorable.
Uncle Bob doesn't have a bad song ❤️✌️ you need to check out his song " roll me away" killer road trip song 🔥
America’s story teller! The GOAT of the story! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bob is so incredibly authentic as a singer and songwriter. We had such incredible music growing up.
I guess us Baby Boomers are so nostalgic for our youths because we had music like this! What's out now that even come close? The whole "Night Moves" album was about Bob's misspent youth. I was too young in 1976 to understand most of the lyrics, but at age 62 I sure can appreciate them now.
The greatest love, loss and longing storyteller there ever was.
Seger is fantastic. Top 10 for me. 💥💥💥👍😎
Seger is REAL..I feel souch joy that I was there in the 70s.
A different side of Bob.."Come To Poppa"!
THE WHOLE ALBUM ( NIGHT MOVES ) IS AWESOME SALVO AND IT WAS IN OUR COUNTRIES BICENTENNIAL ( 76 ) 😊 NEED MORE? : FIRE DOWN BELOW, OLD TIME ROCK AND ROLL, HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS, AGAINST THE WIND, FIRE LAKE, ROLL ME AWAY, SHAME ON THE MOON 😊THAT'S 1 MORE FROM THIS AND 2 EACH FROM HIS 3 NEXT CONSECUTIVE ALBUMS SALVO 😊KEEP ENJOYINGGG THIS GREAT ROCKER!
He loved her all his life and never knew her name. What a master storyteller. Seger never missed.
Bob Seger is incredible. His songwriting ability
Blows me away, not to mention his musicianship. Been a fan since the 60's his first hit was Ramblin Gambling Man
Please check out "Roll Me Away". Bob shows off his passion, intensity and power of his incredible voice. And it's a fantastic song... my favorite.
"If you don't like this, you don't like music." The complete utter truth! I can't remember exactly when I first heard this song...a heck of a long time ago!!!
I was in high school in the late 70's when I first listened to Bob Seger, and haven't stop. So many of he's songs you need to check out. Against the wind, Turn the page, Night moves, Shame on the moon, Real love, Fire lake, Old time rock and roll. He has so many great songs.
I live near this main street he is singing about. Every time I walk down it this song comes to mind !!!!
This music was the story of our lives ! A half of a century of the greatest musical generation the world has ever seen!🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸🌎🇺🇸! Rocked the entire planet!
Sometimes I wish I could forward some of these reactions to the artists, just so they would have an even deeper understanding of how they've made the world better with their music. This is one of those reactions! Thank you, Salvo! 🙂 👍🏻
Like he says in the song Travlin' Man.. those are the Memory's that make me a wealthy soul🤘
Bob Seger is my all time favorite singer
Fortunate enough to grow up with Bob (and, of course, Freddie) in my teenage years. Lots of Bob to listen to, might want to try "Come to Poppa" for a good funky beat... LOVE that Detroit sound... blessings.
I can't say how much I appreciate you going down Bob's rabbit hole 🥰
You totally got it.
Grew up on this stuff for 60 years and it's still magical ....
I forgot how much I love this song and Bob ✌️❤️😎
It is a sweet song. I was 16 when it was on the radio. I saw them perform once in Cleveland Stadium (World Series of Rock). It was 1979 (i think) and Eddy Money performed and some band call Def Leopard opened. Lol.
My personal Seger favorite and worth a reaction is from Live Bullet. Travelin Man/Beautiful Loser. Just fantastic singing and passion. Turn the Page from Live Bullet is fantastic as well.
Thanks for reacting and appreciating music from my youth!
I remember The World Series of Rock at municipal stadium. 4 of them I think,,,,💥💥💥👍😎
I saw him do this in concert in Chattanooga in 1984. The sax player had on a pair of tight yellow pants, he hopped on one foot across the stage while playing ane the crowd went live. I eas born in 1959 so this southern rock is what i grew up on. Loved your reaction. Enjoy. Your Tennessee sub!
Bob Seger is from Ann arbor Michigan
Seger is top shelf sir, nice job. I’d suggest Night Moves, Like A Rock, Turn The Page, Famous Final Scene, Brave Strangers and Shame on The Moon (his biggest seller).
Such an underrated artist.
Roll Me Way, Horizontal Bop, Betty Lou, Feel Like a Number, The Famous Final Scene Hollywood Nights.
Another great story telling from Bob Seger "Turn the page" (one of my favorites)
Ramblin' Gamblin' Man shows Bobs rocking side!
I grew up with this and never realized how special he was until lately, simply one of a handful of the best to ever do it..
As Dave mentioned below, the song” Roll me away” is a must
omg yes. my fav bob seger song. there are two guitars here. one sings the other growls and they kind of remind me of a conversation between a man and a woman.
lets also just take a moment to salute that bass player.
yes he is quite the storyteller. you might also like his song night moves.
Bob Seger has so many great songs. His Live Bullet album is the pinnacle of what a live album should sound like. My all-time favorite songs of his are Ramblin Gamblin Man, Katmando, and Turn the Page. Yep, there is a reason that so many great rockers totally respect this man!
Beautiful guitar work by the late Pete Carr
Goose Bumps ... always gives me goose bumps !
His first hit was East Side Story in the mid sixties followed by Ramblin Gamblin Man. Start there. Then move on to Her Strut. Fire Down Below, Katmandu, Turn the Page, Against The Wind, Like a Rock, Old Time Rock N Roll, and on and on.
As deep as his music was this was my favorite. I finally got to see him on his Final Tour, and it was 3 1/2 hours of AWESOME😎 He had the biggest bass saxophone I've ever seen😲
Not on this song though.
This is what music sounded like before everything turned into plastic.
Bob Seger has a lot of great music. Story telling songs like Hollywood Nights and Against the Wind, songs with great grooves like Her Strut and Katmandu, just
Music in general that is always great to hear. When i hear a Bob Seger song on the radio, i turn it up.
You hit Bob Seger on the head. Authentic! Great reaction! ❤
Absolutely love watching your reactions pure sweetness❤
This one is my favorite Segar jam, just love this song and the way he presents music with the story of his incredible voice. Thanks for this one!
My second favorite song of all time. Takes me back to my early childhood in the 70s, waiting in the car listening to this song while my mother was running into Tru-Value hardware store.
The Famous Final Scene is Bob at his absolute best .. It's a must my friend
The club was 'The Night Before' in Lincoln Nebraska, and her name was Jan. After 45 years, I still remember simpler times.
Ummmmm I think you are referring to Against the Wind, Bob had a long-term relationship with Jan Dinsdale from '72 to '83 and his buddy Glenn Frey dated her twin sister, Janey ~ Mainstreet's inspiration comes from when Bob was still in HS and too young to get in the clubs ~ It was really a club on Ann Street in Ann Arbor and he would stand outside to hear the music and see the pool hall (hustlers and losers) and dancers through the windows ~ He was self-professed young and shy and could only admire this young lady from a distance.
@@kellycraig-slogar6676 I was expressing my connection to this song, and the memories it brings me when I here it.
Single favorite Bob Seger & Silver Bullets song.
You're one of the few I've heard ever get Bob Segar right! I'm from the same area he is, and you got him just right! Thanks
your so true at knowing what the singer is like from the tunes they play glad you like great tunes . bob seger fills a stadium every time
You just can't go wrong with Bob. Many hours spent, sitting and sipping by the bonfire just relaxing, listening to Bob.
Love your reactions to rock & roll songs!! Bob Seger always brings me back to a simpler time of life, carefree & having fun! I cannot believe how underrated he is as a singer/songwriter ❤️
Bob has so many great songs. Don't stop now. Dig deep.
Silver Bullet Live and Nine Tonight, which this song is on, are 2 of the best live albums out there and worth a listen
Growing together in shared and treasured ways is a wonderful pastime. These are the hymns. The movies and TV shows are the myths and parables. It's a very healthy and binding reinforcement of culture and values. Reaction channels have become the contemporary version of a very easy, secular, religious experience, building a framing language between distant generations and preserving art and ideas. Other cultures had pyramids and fountains and stadiums. We have Hollywood, Nashville, Rock and Roll, Motown, Stand Up, endless TV. Our monumental art is big media, with millions upon millions of people participating, growing through shared stories. And now, also celebrating the preservation of treasured creations, together, reverence for timeless beauty and experience. Most of social media is transitory and fleeting. All this metamedia is bigger than people realize yet, has lots more value. Imo, of course.
I grew up in the 70's and loved Bob Seger. My older brother couldn't stand him and even likened him to fingernails on a chalkboard. It shows how personal music can be. I of course think he's crazy, but that's why there is such a large variety out there. My personal favorites are Boz Scaggs and Lowell George of Little Feat ( you would love this group Fat Man In a Bathtub, Oh Atlanta,Rad Gumbo...... and endless list)
Against the Wind - first cassette tape of my life ...
Good old fashioned music you can't go wrong
Such a deep, deep, rabbit hole! Hang on!Hahaha
Saw him in very late 1975 along with Styx opening for KISS
Saw him again in 1980
OMG - you are falling hard for Bob ( we all did) and you haven't even heard "Like a Rock" yet. I don't know if you have teared up yet doing a reaction, but have some Kleenex ready. 36 years later and I still need one nearby. and "Turn the Page" will leave you speechless.
Bob Seger is top 5 all time rocker song writer of all time! You want to hear a song most would not dare to try and sing from Seger? Do Get Out Of Denver Live version and you will hear a song about a weed deal gone bad! IDK when he breathes during this song? I saw Seger 26 times on his Farwell tour!! I am a little bit of a fan! lol
I married that girl. 32 years happy. She played this song an stole my heart. Luv ya babe❤
Great video! This one reminds me of my hometown. Bob is the ultimate storyteller.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO ONE BETTER !!!!
There are so many wonderful Bob Seger songs I’d like to recommend, but your mention of his range makes me think of nothing more than “Katmandu.”
Please more Bob Seger!! My favorite music composer.
I have this album! What great music, I'm glad you found Bob and that you seem to like as much as I do! I loved your reaction! "If you don't like this, then you don't like music", I couldn't have said it better myself!
he he he you nailed it again .. if you dont like this you dont like music ..said it so well
One of my favorites from him. "Main Street" reminds me of a bar I hung at on Main Street in my college town. I dated the bartender. I live in that town now and drive by that bar every now and again. Turn the Page and Night Moves are the others and I'm glad you reacted to those.
So many Seger songs in his catalog!
Travlin Man/Beautiful Loser from Live Bullitt.
Today's music has the forgettable flavor of processed food and music from the 60's, 70's, 80's was home cookin... and no one ever forgets MOM's Home Cookin...that's why this music will last forever...
I had a flashback of riding in my brother's Camaro and him telling me to watch out for cops (now I think he was kidding) because his car stereo was so loud. We went to a drive-in ice cream shop and I had a peanut butter and jelly shake. Nice memory.
I think you may be my favorite reactor-and I watch (way too many-lol) You research, you only stop for brief, intelligent commentary and your reaction is all in your expressions. Dang-I wish more reactors were as good. Thanks-so appreciated.
One of my all time favorite artists. I was 17 when I first heard a Bob Seger song and it hit me so hard..so many emotions came rushing in, I was in love..and I still love him over many many years later! An amazing storyteller, he puts you right there in the middle of the song! I have seen him in concert 6 times and would still be first in line if he were playing anywhere near me today!!
Bob Seger is as guinuine as they come. Adore his music. More Bob Seger please.!
FEEL LIKE A NUMBER is a jam..and Bob Seger lives near me in Michigan. He is a treasure!!
BOB is a legend
Any generation can relate to this music Tnx for reacting
You were steered correctly to this album. Going forward with Seger, it's important to know that Live Bullet is one of the best live albums ever made. You need to check and see if a request you are being fed is on Live Bullet. Travelin Man/Beautiful Loser is a must off of Live Bullet. Fire Down Below and Sunspot Baby are the two bangers off of Night Moves.
Night Moves came out my first year of college and some of my running buddies were from Detroit. Night Moves was basically our soundtrack.
Watching your reaction last night made me pull out my Bob Seger albums and I’ve been listening to them all day! I think you would enjoy the song “The Fire Inside.” I love watching your channel with your great reactions and discussions of the music…thank you!😊
Thank you so much
I first took notice of Bob Seger in the early 70s (I was in high school) and have been listening to him ever since. Great songwriter, singer, instrumentalist. Check out the tracks on his Greatest Hits album. Can't go wrong there. So glad you're enjoying Seger's music. Very nice reaction, thanks!
BOB SEGER TILL IT SHINES,AND IF I WERE A CARPENTER TWO GREAT AND UDERATED SONGS.
Try, " Traveling Man / Beautiful Loser " ❤️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎👌
He also put out the best version of " the lil drummer boy : ever...give it a listen if you've never heard it
70s have all the treasures of music
We saw him on his farewell tour and he was still awesome. He really just had problems hitting a few of the higher notes but still sounded great. Also had several of his original band mates with him.
