    Thanks so much for this fantastic video. I used a combo of a generic window cleaner, Dawn with water and ammonia...about 1/2 ammonia, 1/4 window cleaner with about 1/8 cup Dawn and 1/4 water. I then cut the garbage bag covers for each window, sprayed and covered each window (I also sprayed on top of the plastic to make it very easy to smooth out over the window. Then it sat in the bright sun for about 1 hour. I continued with the instructions and...PRESTO! It peeled right off with practically no residue to clean up. For the little glue blotches left, I took some steel wool and sprayed the same solution; the glue lifted right off onto the steel wool!

The reason of leaving line residues is that the tint is cold and hard. Once the heat impacted on it, it'll come off pretty neat.

I had gone into a dollar store and saw same generic blue glass cleaner and wondered if it would do the same. Since it was only a buck I figured it’d be worth the risk, and if it didn’t work out I could use it on the outside. I was shocked that it worked just as well as the Windex. After watching for tricks and tips, I used heat gun but just a little heat, move it around, no hot spotting or you will crack glass, or use hair gun like him. Then I use gugone spray for the glue removal, and finish it off with your favorite glass cleaner, i use "clear glass". Have a 2005 Honda Ep3 with nasty discolored purple with horrible streaks and bubbles from previous owner. So glad i can see better, especially at night and in these South Florida thunderstorms.

    Every adhesive is different. The type of adhesive in this video is fairly straightforward and easily comes off. Sometimes no glue will be left behind at all, other times you're dealing with something more aggressive and multiple razor blades will be needed. The real test is a back window - something pinkish purple - those are fun :). A steamer is the way to go, but cheaper ones usually don't cut it. Thanks for the video.

      Trimline Window Tinting you tinter fucking people charge over priced. I saw this video and went to Autozone to buy a random tint remover, i just sprayed and peeled and all four window tints in my BMW are off within 5 minutes. I would cost me few hundreds bucks plus hours if I bring this shit to you guys tinters fuckers.

    Thanks! I used the hairdryer on the inside edge of the film while pulling it down. Fast. I used a WD40 soaked rag to dissolve and remover the glue following. My ride is a 2002 Subaru and I think that film has been on for at least 10 years! Kind of expensive, so I'm going to try your windex idea. Thanks again.

    I know this video is a few years old but this helped me a lot when I took the tint off my car. A few little shits in the neighborhood used a BB gun and shattered my back driver window. Old tint held it together. Got that replaced and drove around for a while with that being the only non-tinted window. Back when I watched this I decided to take it all off on the other windows for the same reason. Tint was bubbling and peeling. Shop wanted $160-$220 to take it off. Said it would take 4-6 hours to do. Watched this video and the peeling only worked for one window haha. Every other window was peeling in random strips. I eventually got it off using this way and spraying them down with Windex, covering that with a trash bag and having the heater on full blast. Peeled the trash bag, and tint came off with it. Went over the actual glass with more Windex to get the left over glue and presto, clear clean windows. Paid $100 for fresh darker tint after that.
    There were also cats around me while doing this, but none belonged to me, all random strays that appeared and then disappeared when I was done. Great video and great way of showing how you actually did it.

    • @soullessdevice
      @soullessdevice Před 10 lety +2

      Be warned, it mostly depends on the type of tint and how long it has been on there. I tried doing something very similar to this and the glue was much stronger on mine. I used all kinds of things and ended up trying WD40 and it still took hours to scrap it all off. Then I realized that there is a flat fee for someone who does this everyday to do it and it's not much. Regretted doing it myself.
