V2 - Technical Master Right Hand with help on the feet
V3 - Technical Master Right Hand with help on 1 foot
V4 - Technical Master Right Hand original
V5 - Technical Master Left Hand original
V6 - Technical Master Right Hand, with Left hand only
V7 - Technical Master Right Hand, with right hand only
V8 - Technical Master Right Hand, no crack for feet (this is more like V9)
V9 - Technical Master Left Hand, right hand only (this is more like V8)
V10 - Technical Master, no arete for hands (need a partner)

Intentional or not, this video is an impressive visual intro to bouldering grades. The key is in seeing them all done side by side on the same piece of rock.

I recently bought your book on crack climbing and today I got to try out the handjam beta at my gym's crack. Made the route totally cruiser! Then cruised up the harder one next to it! Then made some progress on the finger crack and ring locks. Anyone with any serious interest in crack climbing whatsoever needs to buy this book. Instant classic. Thank you guys so much for taking the time to write it and spread the knowledge.

When I'm over at my sister's, we sometimes go to a bouldering gym called Berta Block.
They occasionally have partner boulders. Not as tricky as this one, but stuff where e.g. the route of your partner might have a gap, which you need to bridge by getting into a solid position and letting them step on your thigh as a foothold. It's fun stuff!
It kinda takes you out of your usual headspace for reading the boulder problem, because that just won't work at multiple points.

Berta Block in Berlin? That's my home gym! Never saw those, how are they designated?
@@zackfair9088 The ones I saw were always on the back wall of the second hall and there was just a little note around the corner explaining the rules, easy to overlook.

Right side on smear is quite tricky. Have you done Left Side no crack for hands? It's not in this vid, but I did that the other day as well which seemed about V8 and another good one to add to the list. You and Dan would make a great pair 😎

Hey guys, I suggest using a compressor to sort your audio out in videos like this. The dynamic range is quite big, so the viewer has to turn up the volume a lot to hear quiet sections but is then deafened when the audio gets loud. (Like when you both fall off the wall) there's load of free audio compressors you can download online that will help.
