I finally got mine tonight (same motor and gas tank, slightly different base and battery. It wouldn't start. I noticed the one way bearing was not engaging but would by spinning the starter opposite way it was running. I ran back and watched you video for the 5th or 6th time and saw your starter was moving the opposite direction. I switched the red and blue wires and it started right up. someone at the factory must have soldered the wires wrong.

It'd probably last about 2 days tops in that application, it's just not a good motor for a generator application and might only make 500W peak lol.
You'd honestly be better off buying a chinese eBay generator for $200.

What’s the cc/hp and what’s the difference between a model and a miniature engine
I had one as a gift. it's 3.5cc and 0.5hp @ 12,000rpm. just a novelty, really. it IS a real engine tho, just made for display but it can be modified to run in a buggy or other R/C toy. it doesn't have much torque so for the $$ if you're getting in to RC, look online for the engines. Those can be be mounted like this if you wanted to but are durable and powerful in many diff engine sizes but they can get pricey if you want something like 25cc or more
these are cute, but it's important to disassemble the engines and go thru checking components. top end has way too much grease and not in the right places. same with the crankshaft. the cam has a bit of walk, about .020, so you need to fab a cam button. for $340 it's a bit pricey for a display model. if you put about 10-12 hours reworking some of the parts, you can use it in an R/C but at that point, it's best to just get a better engine suited for R/C

@@ghexotix6007 thats the point; its just not the same. If i do that i miss a big step of assembly, and thats the unpacking of all the little parts, investigating how all goes together.. etc etc. Its just not the same to me, it doesnt give the same kind of joy

Prezydent Kucz you can do it, I have 12 small engines as of now. It takes time to build up the collection but it’s worth it. I like going to the garage and firing them up every now and then.

yes, they are strong enough but there is no specific generator so you have to modify them

I bought the same kit after watching this.. after assembling when i tried to put batteries i flipped the engine upside down and fuel started to come outside of exhaust, after that I didn’t even start the engine.. IS it ok to start the engine? Thanks in advance!!
It should be fine. You might just want to make sure your engine isn’t flooded or it will have trouble starting, but usually if fuel is coming out of the exhausts it just means a little excess fuel got in there no big deal.

Holy shit! These are a little pricey! I can see why though, they seem like they're built pretty nice. But you can get decent engines from other companies like Saito, evolution and O.S. for cheaper.
