✨✨✨✨✨✨✨😎
those little captions you put on your dog when he's thinkin things is the sweetest thing ever..... i love a glimpse into frodo's thoughts. also, this video was amazing. makes doing curls seem much less scary lol.
Heehee thank you my love!!!
“Nevermind, lost it.”
Me...always...😂 Feel ya, Frodo.
Hahaha same tho
Hiiiiii. So this video basically a bunch of nonsense and not really a tutorial bUTTT I hope it's at least fun for a watch, hahaha. My brain can't form a coherent video right about now cuz it's real tired. The link to vote for me in the Face Awards is ( www.faceawards.com/video/529 ) by the way! Also yup the steps (I think maybe there's supposed to be 7) got messed up and it just shows how much of a HOT MESS I AM LATELY HAHAAAA. *flails*
I'm just imagining Katharine Hepburn making funny faces, right now.
As a guy with reeeeaaallly curly, long hair, I can sympathize a little with the effort it takes to get it to not look like a small animal took up residence. I will say, though, that my effort is less about styling and more about undoing knots and locking it down with enough conditioning to keep it from frizzing. It's like carding wool, sometimes.
I digress. Your hair looks lovely.
Also, Frodo's really deep, man. Beat poetry. Trancendental meditation. You could set up a retreat and people would pay cash money to sit at his... paws?
yeeeees feel that, I used to have really long hair and MAN that stuff could knot 😂😂😂 and YESSSS hahaha frodo would inspire thousands
My number one tip for people trying to get a vintage look; just keep brushing 😂 lol oh vintage hair
Hehehehe exactly
That's my mac and cheese! Yes girl lol ❤
😊😊😊😊
Hello! I just found you through a review video on the nyx lip dye and was hooked on your style. Holy smokes are you everything I’ve ever wanted in a CZcamsr; that old school music, your personality/humor, the vintage vibes. There’s just such a wonderful aesthetic about your channel. Your channel deserves so much more recognition.
Ahh you are the sweetest!!! Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
So I'm a new viewer, and I have basically spent this entire weekend binge watching your videos because they make me so happy. I actually even had a dream last night that I was watching you do a Chicago (the musical) puppet tutorial while lip synching "oh yes, oh yes, oh yes they both, oh yes they both, reached for the, the gun the gun the gun the gun..." I give 5 stars!
Lol! Release the Kraken is what I always say in videos when I’m about to brush out a set! So apt!
Hahahaha it's the only appropriate phrase!
Your hair literally looks perfect in every video ✨😍💖
Ahhh you're too sweet!!
Thank you for showing a realistic brushout! I struggle with hair so hard so thank you for showing that it's not always easy and flawless lol
Heehee ❤️❤️❤️
Your hair looks right out of the movies, beautiful!!
Ahh thank you so much!
You always manage to make me laugh! I wish I could be funny in front of the camera like you. :D
Hehehe aww editing DEFINITELY helps 😂
Another upload so quickly?! Love it! You're one of the hardest working gals on CZcams for sure!
Ahh thank you! Wanted to make sure I got a normal video out for the people that don't care much about the Face Awards 😂
NP! I'm definitely into all facets of your channel- so gladly I got to enjoy both videos this week! Great work!
If it makes you feel better about your nail drying story; I once stayed in a bra sizing room thing for way too long. I was too awkward to leave without being told to so I just sat there.
Hahhahhaa omg that's amazing and totally something I would do 😂
You're just the funniest CZcamsr there is, Rachel. I've been up ill all night and now it's 6am and I'm watching this, and you actually got me giggling. Frodo's subtitles, your awkward nails story (which is something I would definitely do, I'm awkward af), your face modelling the final look...just, thanks for this! Cheered me up no end.
Heehee Awww I'm glad!! ❤️❤️
I relate to the “this is why I don’t do my nails” moment so much. They’re a disaster in a couple of days, no matter how careful I am. I am an artist so I shouldn’t be too surprised...but I’m also just a mess😂😂😂
Hahaha exactly!!!
"The pat down" omg 😂 too accurate
😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Your hair always looks amazing.
Ahh thank you sweetest!
I love the way you edit. It gives me life 😍😍😍
Heehee I'm glad 😊❤️
They used specific curling patterns to get specific waves. There's a youtube channel that shows you how. It blew my mind.
Interesting, which channel is that?
Rachel being a freaking icon for 9 minutes and 41 seconds
Edit: New set up/background I see!! It looks very nice!!
Hehehe ohh yoooouuuu 💗
LOL, I am inspired! This is how my hair usually comes out when I curl my hair. And I live in humid Chicago and what I learned is I can put a thin hair net, that is close to my hair color like the ladies did back then, an "invisible hair net", on the back of my head pin it down like I'm wearing a snood and it will help keep my curls looking alright. The hair net also helps keep my hair looking good on windy days which I never know when that is. I just like to be prepaired, with Chicago weather one never knows. And the major reason why I have not curled my hair in years. I have natural waves and no matter how much I brush/comb I end up with a lions maine, which I do not mind some times. Since on days when I'm not at work and I washed my hair I can slide in a head band and I end up with a natural 1960s bubble flip hair style.
So to fix this and since I wanted a lazy vintage 1940s hair style. I ended up doing a side parted pomp hair style. I twist the hair on the sides and push them forward and pin in place. Same with the right side except this part is where I form the pomp and still do the twist and push the hair forward and pin down. And take my comb and comb my pomp and the left side of my hair up to the sky to smooth them out and hair spray, inspired by Bettie Garble. And I leave the back down or I'll put it in a ponytail which ends up looking like I got a bush on the back of my head. And when my hair is not bushy after a day or two its flat and separates into see through strands of straw.
The interesting thing though is people still complement me on my hair, LOL.
Ooo yes that's smart!!
I remember seeing a 1930’s hair tutorial, they used wave clips . I thought they really cool , and a neat way to achieve that vintage wave . By the way I really love your videos .
The back is my IDGAF area too, lol.
You're hilarious! Much love
Hehehe ❤️❤️❤️
I think doing a human version of Lady from "Lady and the Tramp" would be a really cute look :3 and it would be in your preferred color palette ^_^
My beauty school instructor was a hairdresser in the 1950's and thats exactly what she told us: keep brushing to gets the curls to lay correctly (its really all in the roller placement how it will turn out)
Guuurrrllll I barely have time to brush my hair in its natural form yet alone after curling. You look so pretty! I honestly love that the imperfections make it so much more pretty and real!
Thank you so much my love!! ❤️
Girl I LIVE for your humor, commentary and personality
Ahhh you da sweetest 😭❤️
Your editing is perfection! 👌
Ahh thank you my love!!
As I was pressing the like button, I heard myself saying "For Frodo!"
This was so cute it looked very old hollwood especially with ur top!
Thank you my loveee!! 😊
I love your videos along with your personality 😂❤
Thank you so so much!!
I just wanted to let you know that I have my first set of pillow rollers coming in the mail and I AM SO PUMPED ABOUT IT Thats it. Thats all I've got. Thanks for the quality content 🙏🙏🙏
Oooo yes!!!! Thank YOU! ❤️
Harmoni god speed!!! Lol just have fun with it experiment don’t worry if you make a few mistakes and rock your look w confidence good luck you’re already lovely curls will just add that extra special touch!
Omg her setting in this video looks really beautiful and 1940s "hollywood"y vibesss and vintageee compared to her usual living room setting
I have no words to describe this video.
But I love whatever video you upload Rachel.
Thank you so much lovely ❤️❤️❤️❤️
"Hair tour!" I can't stop laughing.
😊😊❤️❤️
A little late to the party, but I just discovered your channel and wanted to let you know how refreshing your videos are.
I have been trying my hand at vintage hair styling and am forever frustrated when my hair doesn't look PERFECT like the other girls on CZcams. Your approach is down to earth and totally achievable for an everyday girl like me who is not a professional hair stylist.
The unachievable beauty standards everywhere put me off having the confidence to really pull of these sorts of hair styles, but with patience and practice I have gotten better... gosh the beauty bloggers with the "I just brushed it once and suddenly I have a perfect hollywood glam hairstyle" REALLY frustrate me. THANK YOU for being you!
I don’t know how I found your channel but I am HOOKED! New favourite channel by FAR😍
Ahhh you're the sweetest!!!! ❤️
I actually tried this out a few days ago, it works fine :) My dad even complimented on my hairstyle that it reminds him of my grandma :)
Yay!! When it’s humid, my hair, because it’s just so fine and straight, the set pretty much falls out and I’ll be lucky if the bottoms are curled in after.
Ah also, in Australia we do call knotty hair a ‘birds nest’ hahaha
I feel you!! And yes! That makes so much more sense 😂😂😂
I just went shopping at a vintage clothing store for my first time to buy a dress for an event. I love the dress I bought and I think I might be addicted to vintage style dresses!
Awww yay!!!
I love vintage hair because basically if you set it nd the curls are sorta decent it still looks cute. YOU are cute.
Hahhahhaa true! Thank you beautiful 🙈🙈🙈
Yes I live for these. I don't care how many brush out videos the interbutt makes for me. I want them all and more. Over 9000 brush outs.
Hehehhe ❤️
I bought that exact radio you have at a garage sale for three dollars a week ago. Didn't even realize it was the same one till just now! :') Such a cute video- Love that fluffy 40s curls look!
Yeeees!! We got ours at a yard sale too!
You are such a lovely woman! Your hair always looks so good. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who would have sat there under the dryer forever. How do I always find myself in situations where I know I should ask someone, but my shyness and embarrassment won't let me, so I just stay where I am? I wish I had the courage to move more often. I'd waste less time, but alas, such is not my personality.
A Modern Centurion You're not alone! I was just saying last night how I do these things all the time, too! It's great to see other ladies saying the same thing. Maybe we're not such weirdos! ❤️
Yeah, I use to be this way until I hit my late 30s and pushed myself, and stopped feeling ashamed/dumb for asking questions. I learned that unless I speak up no matter how ashamed I ended up feeling I got an answer to my question.
And I read that the smartest people are the ones who always asks questions.
It was actually really helpful for me to work in retail for several years because I got to see the whole spectrum of types of questions people ask. From super basic to annoying, it gave me perspective for public interactions with people, and I realized that some questions that I used to think would make me stand out as weird or uncertain or clueless are actually asked all of the time! I also realized that if I didn't mind helping people as a retail associate, other people might not mind helping me. I try to reach out more now when I'm shopping and looking for something specific. They will know if they have a white, short sleeved, cotton shirt, and they won't mind telling me! It saves me time and pushes me out of my comfort zone a bit. It's been helpful for me to remember that I'm not the only person that someone has interacted with in their life, and chances are that I'm not the weirdest or most annoying. I'm sure that even your awareness of yourself makes you a lovely person to interact with, and strangers need that! Let's be courageous together and start asking more questions =)
I'm so glad to hear from someone who has stepped out of their comfort zone and gotten bolder! It gives me courage and hope that I can get better too. It's been helpful to tell myself that people don't mind answering questions.
Hahaha YES I'm glad you're the same way 😂😂😂
so pretty! i hear a light pomade can help make your waves more defined while shaping them. but thats an extra expense and who wants thaaaaat
Very true! Pomade makes my hair look even greasier but I have a feeling I used too much when I tried it 😂
I Love and really enjoy this video! It’s super accurate to how it really is brushing out a vintage set! Sometimes I struggle so much, and those little straggler hairs are THE WORST!😅
"one of upmost skepticism" so much judgement from Frodo! You are making me miss having longer hair, the color of yours is so lovely too
Hehehe ❤️❤️❤️
Ah Monday, it’s been a long day, especially working a 14 hour shift at the moment. It’s great that watching your favorite CZcamsr makes you forget how tired you are 💕💕
Awww you're da sweetest, yOU GOT DIS BB
Ugh her hair is BEAUTIFUL
You have like the best vintage curls I have ever seen ♥️ No joke love! 😍😍😍 I envy them sooo much!
Ahh you're so sweet thank you!!
Ha all the things that happened to you in the beginning is what happens to me when I'm doing my curls. 😂 Its a struggle to make my curls look nice & less of tangled mess. That's what happen to me when I got my nails done like 8 yrs ago. I was too shy to go ask what the hell was I supposed to do so now I do my own nails hehe Always voting for you cuz you are the only one I know and I like you so I'm voting for ya every day.
You crack me up girl!! Voted 3 votes for you just now!!! I hope you win!
Ahh thank you so much lovely 😭❤️
Lol Rachel, I have never had my nails done so I'd probably do the same thing! I too feel about the back of my hair that way 😉 Love your videos, always good info with a laugh...keep doing what you do! P.S. I just love your dog & I would have voted but I'm a year and a half late 🙄
This is giving me flashbacks to when i was little and my mom had to hold me down with her legs WWE-style to brush the knots out of my hair. A couple years later she gave up and took me to a barber but I'll never forget that sound. That fwwpt! haunts my scalp.
Hahaha YES my mom did the same thing 😂😂😂
Your hair looks amazing. You remind me so much like Grace Kelly. Just beautiful in every way.
Ahh you are so sweet!!
Last time I was this early I was born 2.5 weeks premature
😂😂😂
I guffawed, well done :D
I was born 2 months early
No joke
I love your sense of humor and your hair looks fantastic!
Thank you so so much!
I love Frodo thinking moments. Your lipstick looks gorgeous today!
Thank you so much my loveeee!
I'm obessesed with Colorstreet nail polish strips. No dry time, long lasting and easily done at home!
When I brush my sets even a minimal amount all of the curl comes out completely. I’ve tried setting lotion, hairspray, mousse. I’ve tried wet sets, dry sets, hot sets...I don’t know if it’s because my hair is so fine and thin or what but it makes me so sad. I’m so envious of your ability to keep curl in your hair. :-)
Aww you're beautiful through and through. Your hair is stunning no matter how much u may not it was 😊🖤🖤🖤
Ahh thank you my love ❤️❤️❤️
You are too adorable. You have a great personality and spirit.
Your hair is beautiful!!! Frodo is a gem!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you my love!!
I like your new upload schedule, I‘m finally not 10 hours late 🤗
Also: lol @ the nail story, it would have sat there as well for at least as long!
Do you know Alessandro Striplac? It’s fabulous stuff. Been using it for years. You apply it like regular nailpolish (except that you can take your time, since it doesn’t start drying on you in the middle of doing a nail) and then it hardens in 90 sek. under a UV lamp. Lasts about a week to 10 days and then (and that’s the best part) you can just peel it off! No filing, no acetone...at some point it just turns weirdly soft and comes off the nail in one piece.
Oooo I've never heard of that!! I'll have to check it out!
This video is a much needed ray of sunshine. Love and hugs to you dearie. Cowabunga! :D
Heehehee yay!! ❤️
I legit have that same problem. I’ll brush it out and it’s bad then keep brushing it’s good, then I’m like okay well one more brush for good measuuuuuure and it’s a hot mess. 👏🏻💁🏻♀️😂
oh my GOD the bit with your dog at the beginning. you're my new fav youtuber. love your style and sense of humor!
I’m calling it! Your dog is secretly the wisest being in the universe
He is!!!
Lovely video ^_^ Wishing you the best luck for the FaceAwards!
Thank you my love!!!
"What's more dramatic than being like, that's my mac and cheese 😏"

Ahhh you're the sweetest thank you 😭❤️❤️
Step #cowabunga is definitely going to be part of my vocabulary from here on out. I've also had the dreaded nail salon trip, except I went in China... And I don't speak Chinese... But I love your videos and especially Frodo (massive LOTR fan :D)
Hahahaha Yeeees I'm glad! Feel free to throw on some "Surfing USA" while you're at it. 😂😎
ah, but no matter what, you look amazing! My sets are always weird, so I end up doing something weird with my hair like in my profile... idk, you are a hair goddess as far as I'm concerned!
Ahh you're so sweet! My hair totally has a mind of its own sometimes too!
I have been really inspired by your channel recently. Thank you for everything you do :)))
Aww thank YOU!!

Your hair is so beautiful and I love your style so much 🌹🍒❤️❤️
Ahh thank you so much lovely!!
I loved this and at one point I was like ohhh so that's how you do the miss maisel hair. And then of course you always make me giggle. And I have resorted to the brushing out hair spray with eyes closed so it d oesnt hurt thanks to you
Heehehee thank you my love!! 😂❤️
But of course my dear
I love your videos so much! To the point where I force my non vintage friends to watch them even tho they don’t care about vintage at all.
Hehehhee Ahhh thank you!!!
Love you Rachel! I have been voting for you daily (I missed a day ooops) and I cannot wait to see what you create next.... The back of my head is my IDGAF area as well! Lol!
Ahh thank you so much my love!!!
For shaping waves I've found duckbill clips to be the best tool! 10/10 would recommend
I def gotta try it!
Oh my goshhh I’ve done the same thing when getting my nails done! I had no idea that I was just supposed to leave when they were dry so I sat there for ages... yikes
Hahahhaha I'm so glad I'm not the only one 😂😂😂
I'm glad I can finally put my 12 email accounts to good use and vote for you..... it's a lot of work though >_<
Good luck!!! ~sending support, hope, and love
Oh my gosh you don't even know what that means to me 😭😭😭❤️❤️ Thank you so so so much
Love the Mac and cheese hair flip! I wanna use it so bad at the next restaurant I go to!
Lovely- my mom did my hair this way before photo day at school
This is me every time I try a brush out, but instead of becoming a ball of lovely fluff, they fall out. Vintage is a love hate relationship
Hahaha I feel you!
Sis you will always have my vote ive been following you for awhile and i know what your capable of so i know 100% you wont disappoint me 💗
Ahhh thank you bb 💗💗💗
The Pinup Companion no problem love 💕
Yay, someone else than me that want to do hairstyles, but not use more hairspray than nessecary! I Always avoid hairspray if possible. Once I did Leia's most iconic hairstyle to a cosplay, without using hairspray. It went really well, but it took halv an hour and a LOT of hairpins to make it stay in place.
That's impressive!! Yeah I just don't like the crunch 😂😂😂
Gotta say, I just plain suck doing my own hair! I tried to do a 40s curl with victory rolls, it looked awful! I let the curls set overnight, yet when I brushed it out, it literally brushed OUT! I ended up using a curling iron and a ton of hairspray. Then I teased the hair a bit, which was basically adding frizz. I just need someone to stand beside me and tell me what to do. Lol! But I bet I could do this on someone else's hair like a pro!
You look so amazing!! I'm always so nervous to brush my hair and lose all my curls
Sorry for my English
Your english is perfect! I feel you, it still happens to me sometimes but using setting lotion when doing your set really helps!
The Pinup Companion thank you so much!!!
2 videos in a week. I have been blessed.
😊😊😊😊❤️
