Personally, I don't like having something like class skills locked behind a paywall without any other means of unlocking it that doesn't require money. I don't mind stuff that helps you pay to progress faster as long as there are ways to unlock that content that doesn't require money. Lost Ark does this with their gear progression system. You can either spend money to reach higher tier levels or you can spend the time grinding. It sounds like in Ni no Kuni there are certain skills you can only unlock by paying for them and that's a big turn off.
@@tinfin7965 I guess some skills are rare drops so you don't need to buy them but I'm not sure if that pertains to all special skills. Also we don't know for sure yet if our version of the game will change that or keep it the same as the Korean version and lock some skills behind a paywall.

Class skills being locked behind a paywall seems very scummy. This is the first game I've ever seen to do this. It's good to know the rogue is FTP friendly since it was the one I wanted to play and I don't see myself spending on this game.

Based on my experience on every game with class like this, magic related class will always need money to play them 😂 like sorcerer / witch in this game, but still i am always a sorcer player and still choose witch in this game
Luckily I started with the Rogue (haven't touched other classes yet). Having a blast with this one as a F2P. Just got lucky since I usually use Archers or Mages when playing games. I just love those 2 classes.
Been playing ranged/archer types since ragnarok online. But currently want to use a tank however seeing multiple videos saying the destroyer is stopped by a paywall. I mean, i usually spend on games but I try to find out first if I'm going to invest much time on a game before doing so. So, still kind of confused which character to main...
Regardless of the class you choose, 70% of the gameplay is sifting through 78 different menu screens spamming left click to claim a reward, all of which your chosen class has no bearing whatsoever.
So the main takeaway I'm getting from this is within the start of the game if you want to be F2P you're only gonna be able to the most efficient for a long while by being a healer, the class pretty much no one I've ever seen likes maining in comparison to damage classes or tanks. Or with the rare drops you could possibly get lucky with the drops, but you're still more guaranteed to function well as a healer. I usually don't mind spending in mobile games, but I gotta limit my spending between all my mobile titles and WOTV will always be my main investment. So that alone may prevent me from delving into this one or I'll be tempted to spend. I wouldn't ever pick a healing focused class in any game because I prefer to play alone unless I have to play with others

In Korean server, we don’t call witch as ‘Ranged’, she’s more like a melee even it’s visually ranged. Only rogue and engineer are ranged. The rest are dealer which is ‘damage dealer’
I'd swap destroyer and witch. Destroyer gets pay walled if they want to tank, but they don't have to tank. Witch doesn't have that option, they're either top$$$/high$$ tier dps or you main rogue.
No complaints here. I was already pre-reg and didn't bother to cancel so it downloaded overnight. I may give it a go but I'm not expecting much. If play it'll probably be mainly archer (I ephing refuse to call it a rogue) or healer since I actually generally enjoy both. It's gonna have to squish in between Mana, Dislyte, and WotV though lol

Man, I wanna see your videos on the game before going for this game Auron; I was really excited by this game before, but first the crypto debacle made me lose some of my interest thinking it would bring scummy monetization, and the more I see of the game, the more worried I am for even DOLPHINS like me, because this game seems to be monetized to high hell: you need to pay to get skills, you need to pay to pull gear, you need to pay to get familiars, and you need to pay to get costumes. Thats a RIDICULOUS amount of things to be paying money for: so what, the free game is basically auto attacking and thats it?! If you're still unsure after this. A good analysis on korean server - Wicth and Swordmans class are made for whales. While the last 3 classes are f2p friendly. But at the end of the day it's whoever give you most fun. Enjoy friends.

From everything I’ve seen I wouldn’t call the witch a ranged class. She seems much closer to melee than she does to range. Good starter guide though. Your top 2 choices seem to match most of my research.
Every time you open the game you get to pick your class Leveling them all up is essential to power up your account, but you should have a main class for sure
You could kinda tell from discord on what people will be playing. Witch (6219), Engineer (5282), Swordsman (4415), Rogue (4213) and lastly Destroyer by almost half (2305)
Yeah well constellations are kinda the same. Requiring dupes is usually a no go for me. That's why I think summoners war sky arena actually has one of the best gachas out there

There is a lot of non-auto content once you actually get into the game. Problem with most CC is they play for 1 day, which doesn't get you out of the tutorial in this game, and they are like AUTO ONLY GAME!
Witch only has 1 "must have" skill that can be bought outright or boss grind. So why are people saying it's f2p unfriendly? Said skill just makes life easier, but its other skills are still good too. Seems most people want to rush their classes. Time investment as a con for an mmo?! LMAO

Personally, i choose my characters based on appearance and how much i like their skills. i chose engineer because of that and i love playing them

Yeah I think you might enjoy Swordsman or Rogue. Rogue looks incredibly F2P friendly and Swordsman will require a little more RNG luck later.

Yes, PC client will be live on launch day. You have to register on your phone or an emulator but then you can login to the PC client and play
And the controls are horrible and you can't change it besides mapping your input in OS. Even early access games have that.

There are many skills in the game that drop from rare monster or leveling them up requires rare drops, alternatively you can purchase them in packs.

There is a lot of non-auto content once you actually get into the game. Problem with most CC is they play for 1 day, which doesn't get you out of the tutorial in this game, and they are like AUTO ONLY GAME!
