Does rotating the seat change the gap?

When in the decline position 2:52 , it's not locked into one of the notches. For decline the seat needs to be flush with the bench. But can that only happen if the bench is all the way down, but outside of the notch?

I wish it had a metal bit under the top of the bench so that it would stand upright.

Bench is Awesome,but not for $ 600 Canadian!! Why dont you guys get some Canadian distributors so us Canadians can purchase your product without breaking the bank.
