From what I've seen, a lot of the competetive strongmen are very humble and overall likeable people!
I love how Cim shared some tips on how to lift that last dumbbell, and how you are always willing to learn something new, and actually succeeded with the new technique! :D Your channel is amazing!

i am a swede, and yes we are nice, but as former vikings when we got real angry its like an nuke exploding, comes in our genes from the viking time.
you speak of the Vikings as these invulnerable, mythical beings when they where just normal men who were farmers. they took advantage of small villages and churches knowing full well they were defenceless and slaughtered unarmed people.

Many scholars believe that the viking age only started at all because the Scandinavians saw their Germanic brothers being murdered and burned alive by early Christians and they wanted to defend their right to their faith and traditions. In the viking age and before, being a good person was arguably the most important aspect of how to live your life, even in war time, the women and even slaves were kept far away from danger so that they would be safe and anyone who attacked someone who was deemed as weak would be shamed and either killed or cast out of society. If you were a viking man trying to impress a women, money didn't matter much but being an honorable person really did matter. In summary, the vikings that you see in media are created to get people to watch a TV show or movie and have very, very little to do with how people actually lived or what they valued

He is in a generally unknown sport, even the most famous guys like Eddie Hall or Brian Shaw are relatively unknown to the mainstream, props to Magnus for promoting him.
His a plumber. He might focus more now though, maybe. I mean, its not a job. Plumbers make trillions here in Scandinavia. Handimen are upper middle class.
Because swedish strongman isnt really a big scene.

There is no need. It's just guys having some fun. The weights do the sorting of the pecking order in a group, and it is what it is. No need to act tough. Just show it and lift. Done. :)

I've 1-arm deadlifted 150 lbs. for 5 reps at a bodyweight of 125-ish lbs.. A regular size dumbbell handle. Stacked dumbbells. A 30 on top of a 30 on top of a 45 on top of a 45. FUN danger zone except I won't do it again because of the hernia! DANGEROUS ENOUGH TO DUTCH-RUDDER MYSELF IT IS!
It's not the weight that's hard to lift. It's that fat roll grip that will just slip out of your hand when you try to lift.

I love how Cim's technique explanation got Magnus closer than any other attempt he had before on the "Thomas Inch" dumbbell.
I'd love to see a kind of strong man competition with all the people Magnus has had in his videos.

It goes very quick to learn to understand Bergensk for swedish people, but in the beginning it's a bit challenging. I think within one day you should start to understand the main part, and withing a week you understand most of it :)

Vikings were around 175cm on average and nobles were very typically over 180cm while knights in Western Europe were like 173cm on average.

Larry is out of his prime and wasn't focused on strongman training. In his prime he was probably much stronger than this guy in all conventional lifts while weighing 30kgs less than him.

I love the mutual respect by both athletes. Yes, there is a competitive aspect to their exercises, but ultimately they are supporting and encouraging each other as teammates.

Being much weaker than Magnus, I was shocked he could lift so much without even making room to set up his feet, then losing balance/rocking onto his toes. Cim helping him fix it within 10 seconds, for a new pb, made this collab even more satisfying 💪💪
The fact that Adam immediately found a new better way to grip the puck makes a lot of sense give one of his biggest skillsets is the ability to figure out the most efficient way to grip things

This implement is the Grip Genie version which is waay harder, I outlifted Larry Wheels on the Ironmind one and I'm a pleb.
These giants are always so humble and kind. You would think they are big, scary, adngry, but they tend to be so much kinder than most others, very impressed :-)
Big, scary, angry giants have probably never enjoyed great life expectancy or particularly high quality of life at any point in history. If you piss off a group of people it doesn't really matter how big and strong you are if they decide to come after you. Humble, kind giants avoid becoming hated and feared and can probably talk down most of those deranged idiots who go around trying to pick fights with the biggest guys they can find.

That looked a fun day. I used to climb when I was younger. Loved that feeling of reaching the top and looking down on all those who tried but failed or bottled out.
You should do a video with Jesse Pynnönen from Finland. He has one of the best grips in the world. He has also a huge collection of Thomas Inch dumbbells and other grip stuff!

Cim can get almost his entire hand around the rolling thunder, which must be a great advantage. I feel like hand size and the leverage it gives you makes a big difference in a lot of grip sports events. (Edit: not to deny that he is amazingly strong, of course!)
It's pretty widely known that anytime you have to wrap your hands around anything hand size make a pretty big difference.
Ye, I wonder if you sized the radius relative to the size of your hand, if Cim could still lift heavier than Magnus or not. I'd assume yes, but it'd at least be quite a bit closer.

I love this. It's wholesome how invested these guys get in someone else's lifts. A lot of people think bodybuilders are hulking musclebound idiots, but they're actually two of those things.
