Heirloom Pumpkin Faux Painting Technique in Three Steps | Fall Displays | Dollar Tree Project

Are you ready for Fall? We are getting there, slowly but surely, at AllyOops.
In this video I share my technique for painting inexpensive pumpkins to look just like heirloom pumpkins. They look so beautiful and are so easy to create.
Just grab some plain ole pumpkins from Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby and a few chalk paint colors.
I use DIY paint and Dixie Belle paint in this video. I use DIY Orange Crush and Dixie Belle Collard Greens, Palmetto, and Daisy. Plus I used DIY White Swan for my whitewash solution.
This is basically just three steps. Paint, Seal, and Whitewash. So easy. Watch this video to see how I did it and get a peek at our transitional Fall displays that beginning to come together at AllyOops.

These are gorgeous! I wonder if white wax would work, as well. That would give you the matte seal.

Yes! Great idea. I have used white wax on some I have painted and it worked great. However on these pumpkins the color was so vibrant at first a white wash worked best to mute the colors. Thanks so much for watching and taking time to comment ❤
