Inner part thats facing YOU is supposed to be the same color as the outer part that's also facing YOU. Once flipped the opposite side to that will also be like that. Making the illusion of transitioning.

Years ago I saw one similar trick done by Origamist/Entertainer CZcamsr Jeremy Shafer, his variation didn't involve the use of glue. Heck I even think that he made it first until I found this trick done online before his video was published.
