  • This is Inveraray & District Pipe Band's performance at the British Pipe Band Championships 2024. It was a cold and wet day in Forres and Inveraray's competition performance coincided with one of the heaviest showers of the day.
This was a March, Strathspey and Reel competition and the bands selection was:
March: The Argyllshire Gathering, John MacColl
Strathspey: The Bob of Fettercairn, traditional
Reel: John McKechnie's Big Reel, traditional
The championships were organised by The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association in conjunction with YBD Music Ltd. They were held on Saturday, 8 June 2024 in Grant Park, Forres.
Inveraray & District Pipe Band is led by Pipe Major Stuart Liddell MBE and the Leading Drummer is Steven McWhirter. Ten grade bands competed and Inveraray & District took second place. Full results at bit.ly/forres24.

Another beautiful day in paradise, I see! I always wonder about the fairness of bands copping the absolute crappiest of the day's weather. It must effect playing and sound!
    Great performances though!

Anyone know where this version of The Bob o Fettercairn comes from? It’s hardly anything like how I play it

Normally, I would say something trite about the break into the strath, but that's because i want to go against the norm to get more attention. I actually thought it was neato.
