Phil Hartman's final appearance on the show before his death. Truly the end of an era. He was more important to The Simpsons than people realize and his presence was definitely missed.
His final appearance in small soldiers is (along with the cgi) the most memorable part in the movie. He added comic relief when the writers or characters failed, to an otherwise bland film. I still remember when he created an emp by jamming metal between two transformers.
I never noticed this during casual viewings, but the fact that the title of the documentary flubs the alliteration on the most obvious word is one of those truly underappreciated jokes.
Daniel waugh couldn’t have said it better myself. She really robbed the world of a very funny man and also a really great guy according to everybody who worked with him
I remember watching the director's commentary as a kid, and a moment that really stuck out to me was when lisa's voice actress pointed out that this scene was the last appearance of Troy McClure and the rest of the cast got really quiet for a moment. At the time i didn't understand why this being his last appearance was such a downer for the people who worked on the show, but it clicked into place when i learned how Phil Hartman died
The last thing Phil Hartman did before his untimely demise. Not gonna lie, I miss him, and I was born just before his death. Rest in peace, I was looking forward to working with the guy before I knew of his passing.
@@DugrozReports Well, keep in mind when I thought he was still alive, I was like ten or eleven and had no idea of his actual fate at the hands of his wife. I was also an ambitious kid who wanted to work with someone with such talent.
The disgusted look Troy gives billy when he starts talking is priceless. I like Alice's adventures through the windshield and the decapitation of Larry ledfoot as well
Thank God they didn't have one involving Troy McClure and fish. "Fish, our wonderful, beautiful... arousing watery friends- dah- I mean, truly nature's greatest wonders!"
Troy McClures last episode & only appearance on season 10. May Phil Hartman rest in peace. I wish he wasnt murdered & that he was alive even today voicing Troy & Lionel Hutz. He seemed like a nice guy. 💞
Adam Sukenick well it takes nine months to complete a Simpsons episode so he may have recorded his lines for this episode in late 1997-early 1998 before he was tragically murdered
This is what really saddens me that this was Phil Hartman that this was Phil hartman's last performance We will remember good for your brilliant performances
That final, worried little forced grin he gives tells me he has willingly, or unwillingly taken part in regurgitation at some point in his life. Knowing his history with fish, it's totally feasible.
In the last few minutes of Man Vs. Nature: The Road To Victory, the earth looks like Coruscant, and it is beautiful. So satisfying. The battle has been won.
As an environmental scientist, I really want to watch Man vs Nature: The Road to Victory more than you can imagine
Nature sucks.
"Oh so mother nature needs a favor, perhaps she should of thought of that before plaguing us with droughts and floods and poison monkeys"

Well, just look (gestures to everything).
It'll conclude with a old trailer for the 1999 movie The Matrix

Phil Hartman's final appearance on the show before his death.
Truly the end of an era. He was more important to The Simpsons than people realize and his presence was definitely missed.
This short always makes me sad. He is so missed.

It sure is billy. It sure is.
100% agree
I like how he apparently never intended to feed the chicks once they hatched. His lesson's over.
I never noticed that.
Well, of course he's not gonna feed them. Didn't you hear the part about what mother birds have to do in order to feed their babies? Icky.
That's the joke
Acoording to his nervous look, he feeds them reguristed food.
It sure is Johan. It sure is.
This isn't "Man VS. Nature: The Road to Victory" this is a clip of "BIRDS: OUR FINE FEATHERED COLLEAGUES"
I want my money back...
Max William Lauf he sure does, Max. He sure does.
I sure hope somebody got fired for that blunder
No, money down!
When do we get to see "Man VS. Nature: The Road to Victory" ...!!!
I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder!
Troy saying "such fearsome predators as the badger and the mongoose" exactly like he introduces his films is such an underrated gag
I cannot unsee this now hahahahahaha
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I never noticed this during casual viewings, but the fact that the title of the documentary flubs the alliteration on the most obvious word is one of those truly underappreciated jokes.
OMG
I don't follow, what is the word that is flubbed? 🤔
"Fine Feathered Friends" would have given the title alliteration.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The “billy” Bart writes at the end always gets me. R.I.P. Phil Hartman
75 WATT BULB
REGURGITATE FOOD
BILLY
Hahaha
Suprised he spelled it correctly
75 watt food
Regurgitate billy
You always need a Billy.
Wtf is a 75watt led? A lighthouse? 😁
His last appearance in the show :(
+Bobby Lawson Yep. Billy never appeared in another Simpsons episode.
+Tim Thomason He probably lit a match while trying to fix a gas leak.
Billy is DEAD! They slit his throat from ear to ear!
hey! Im trying to eat lunch here!

The last time Phil Hartman was on the Simpsons. so sad
*sniffs and wipes a tear* taken from us by a cold hearted b*&ch

samdiego no this was Tory mclures last appearance not Lionel hutz
lionel hutz last appeared in season 9. this is season 10.
Ergo, phil hartman's final simpsons appearance
Daniel waugh Yeah he deserved better.
After all these years, I’ve only just realised that Billy wasn’t wearing a hat and that was his actual hair.
I-I
Mind. Blown.
Wow
I never noticed that.
Lol what? Am I the only one who always thought it was hair?
And after this episode, Phil Hartman’s characters were permanently retired. RIP Phil.

Steel tongs are too OP, plz nerf.
Mad cuz bad.
Leo Krupp you work for Bungie?
No one uses mittens, so they will be buffed next update.
Only if you play blue jay. Roll crow or raven you noob.
They're not OP, you just haven't paid $5 for the shotgun DLC, or purchased any of the legendary armour sets.
That big guilty smile at the end is solid gold
His smile at the end is hilarious!
He looks like he's forced to smile at gunpoint
Troy’s smile at the end might be a call-back to his educational film about DNA (which ended abruptly with him looking nervously at the camera).
And very humbling given it was his last appearance
Why did they make that one Muppet out of leather?
Even over 20 years later, Phil Hartman is still sorely missed.
I love how there's always a Billy or a Jimmy questioning Troy McClure in these videos.
The funniest is that Bart wrote in his notes, Billy.
The last thing Phil Hartman did before his untimely demise. Not gonna lie, I miss him, and I was born just before his death. Rest in peace, I was looking forward to working with the guy before I knew of his passing.

25 years on and you are sorely missed Phil.
I love how this educational video turned into just basically judging blue jays.
The incredible versatility of Troy McClure's career never ceases to amaze me...
He's a man for all the seasons.
I love how in Bart's notes, he also writes 'Billy' 😆😄
never ever forget Troy McClure.
Hi, I’m not Troy McClure but I remember him fondly along with other such voice actors like Lionel Wilson and Philece sampler.
Any time Troy McClure came on screen, you knew you were going to be entertained

For some reason I can’t help but laugh at that part. The way he says that is so perfect.
RIP Phil Hartman. You are deeply missed.
I love how these Troy McClure videos never actually give any useful information 😂
I thought the tong thing was helpful.

I miss Phil Hartman. He was one of the best voices on the Simpsons and Troy Mclure was a fan favourite.
I love how Bart notes are like the least important takeaways just like when teachers ask for notes on videos
This is probably why I flunked out of college...my note taking skills were trash, relied on memory but even with great memory it was too much
Phil Hartman, taken too soon.
Man vs nature!! We win again!!! Thankss to the tongs!! 👏😁👍🍻

The last Phil Hartman scene, and the end of classic Simpsons in my opinion.

Before I realised it was a badger I thought it was a raccoon fighting the bluejay in the thumbnail. I thought The Simpsons had predicted Regular Show.
