Tasty (Ben?) This channel and others that mainly appeal to men is so important for our mental health, obviously you don't know us, but we feel we know you a little bit, it's like hanging out with a mate. So, I live alone with a beautiful cat, twice divorced, crap family, friends all busy or married or not good company, so, sometimes severe loneliness sets in, with suicidey thoughts. It's torture, especially at weekends. Yourself, hubnut, furious driving, flawless cleaning, life by living etc, do alot to cheer me up, make me laugh, inspire me to service my car, basically keep me going until, Jesus or WW3 or grim reaper turns up. Thank you, keep up the good work. I appreciate you bruv., And the other youtubers knocking out good content.

All the best mate and these metal works of art will always bring me serious joy! Think of all the peoples work that went into creating them, let's try and keep them going just for that.

May I give you a safety suggestion. When pulling any car onto your trailer try not to stand anywhere near to the wires pulling, as they have a tension on them which if they snap, they will do you serious damage and could well end up with you losing a leg. You may say "I'm not bothered", but believe me when a wire snaps it can whip in any direction at extremely high speed and any flesh in the way will not stop it from doing it's thing and even if it doesn't chop your leg off it will break it and believe me it is painful. From a concerned youtube subscriber.

What a shame, this is one of the very last Austin 1300's in the very popular Harvest Gold. As soon as I saw this car, I thought there would be a lot of work. The very fact it was sitting so close to the ground in an open shed gave me great concerns. Rear sub frames were the first thing to go on these cars, even the tidy ones. it used to be a miserable job changing the sub frame on these cars as nuts and bolts were so rusty under them. The radius arms often needed new bearings too, because there were no greasing points. Get a nice one and you have a lovely little car. The ride never deteriorates with age, but the gearbox synchro's on 3rd gear used to wear on them. At the very least this car would make a great donor for someone, but I hope it survives.

Nice one on getting it back to the work shop, shame that A series engines seized, but at least it would make a great parts car, as you say that interior is worth its weight on its own. Years ago when i worked, for shit hole ( asda) an elderly couple was in shopping, and they had one in that colour, it was mint! The lads didn't know what it was haha, i was the only one out of them who did. I had a good look around it, and spoke to the bloke, he said its never been restored at all, and it was in daily use still. They must have had it for years! I spoke about the suspension side of things, as i was rocking a rover metro at the time. It was a real treat seeing one been used, as a daily. Also i have seen a few of them at our local classic car show too, but again that was years ago when i was last at a show. I often wondered if this was these were the " Austin Metro" of the 70s.

Then one that's been uncovered from the shrubbery is a 1300 GT !! Only the GT had that beautiful steering wheel, not only that, if it is a genuine GT the engine block alone is worth a fortune as its the one that can bored the biggest and if I remember correctly it has an extra crankshaft journal but don't hold me to that, but that engine and head if the casting number is 12G940 is worth a fortune and is soon rare now, a rare engine builders dream 👌

Fair play to you Ben for showing it as it is. All too often we see cars that get a magic wand amount of cash thrown at them which, in the real world, is balls frankly. You show it like it is and that's part of the reason why I like to watch your vids. 😀. My tasty classics cap fits great and my moggy smells sweet n dandy thanks to your car freshener. Keep smiling bud 👍

Have you notices how the later Leyland logo resembles the centre drain in a urinal ! The question is were the logo designers predicting Leyland's future or were they simply taking the piss?.

Good Evening Ben. Please do not be to upset about this Project. She is a very Lovely Rare Classic 1973 Austin 1300 Mark 3. Sometimes you are Successful and then there are other times, You just have to say no. I really did Sincerely Enjoy this Incredible Barn Find in Wales. What a really Gorgeous and Welcoming Family they were to you Ben. Cups of Tea, Home made Biscuits and Cakes to enjoy. You really have Tried your Hardest to get the Engine Unsiezed and the Pistons being freed. The Engine will have to be removed and Dismantled to find out what is wrong. She was left in that Barn for 40 Years. This what Rust can do to a Classic vehicle. She will be the Perfect Project for her new owner Ben. You did Very Well and You kept on going. She does, have such a lot of Potential, and I am sure, that she will be back on the road again. She needs, a complete Full Restoration by an Austin 1300 Classic Car Restorer. Ben, You did what you could, do Not beat yourself up about this. Tasty Classic's is still a Great Channel to watch your video's and really Admire Your Determination Ben. Thank you very much my Friend Ben. I totally Support and I am very Proud of You Ben. Jonathan.

So sad, poor little 1300. Sadly not to be. Brought back a lot of memories for me - happy memories of family days out when i was a kid. My dad had a J reg 1300 back in the early 70's. Had the earlier dash in his though, with the horizontal strip speedo. I was rather gutted when i saw the back wheels leave the body, knowing that would be the end of the road. But like you say - great fun - minus all the horsefly bites. Really enjoyed this episode - a real treat for my Friday evening viewing.

Another brilliant episode from my favourite You Tube channel, I had 3 of these little cars from my late teens through to my mid twenties, one being my 1st ever automatic. Thanks Ben, you brought back so many memories.

Same would happen to any old car with rotten sills being pulled like that. It will tear at the bulkhead.
They should have saved the doors, engine , glass etc before trying to move it

Sad to see, such a nice little car......with a engine stuck, and a bit crusty underneath, but for the rest it is more than okay the rebuild it again...But maybe this one will not be saved and back on the road again, so be it, still a very nice video to watch and even a some sort of adventure to see how you did all the trouble to get in the Shop.Love your videos so much and wait every week for that moment you and your cars showing on my screen. And even without success this time, still so nice to watch. Thanks for sharing Ben !

    Hi Ben
For insect bites and stinging nettle rash the best thing is plantain balm or pick a leaf crush it and put it on bites etc better than dock leaf mate.

Such a valiant effort Ben, very sad to see the little thing in that condition with just 50000 miles on it but you gave it everything you could...
When you were pulling it up on to the trailer by the wheels the way it was moving had me suspecting it might be like that underneath. Sad both of the 1300s died from being abandoned there but at least this one has some good parts on it.
Great content as always, you deserve more views - and they'll come!
