- After getting many questions about how to fix the hard to start issue some people were having with their Monster Moto / Mega Moto 80cc mini bike, I decided to make this video to give some of my tips and things that help me start my Monster Moto / Mega Moto mini bike. I had to move this video into the basement as it was raining and the garage is full of projects. Hopefully this will help with your mini bike after it's not been started in a long time and it won't start.

If you hold the throttle while starting it helps a lot 👍
Yes it does sometimes but it also increases the chance of flooding the engine

Is it possible to adjust the inner brake pad on the 80cc? I see the outer pad can be adjusted but my daughters inner pad is rubbing the rotor constantly!
Ok so I have problems with mine every time I pull the pull start it moves tired forward and won't start you think there's a way to fix that?

I was trying to get my mini bike to start but it couldn’t and hopefully this video will help me to get it to work.
There is a starter on the back and you have to switch it when you start it
Yup, it's called the choke.
You should check your spark plug, was my issue, that and lubing the clutch
I got one of these in a trade that I'm working on cleaning up. It runs, but needs a few small things replaced or cleanedI keep forgetting I should lube the clutch. I'll do that on my day off when I have daylight to spend working on it and changing the spark plug and oil and all that
yea fresh gas We took off carburetor cleaned it now my fuel line has a leak in it. So I am gonna replace fuel line hope fully that will work. I have spark sprayed starter fluid behind filter and started but died. Fuel flow problem?
If you have a fuel line leak or will pull air causing it to die..
Is this all you gotta do? It will start after other times without spraying
you had the kill switch off the first time you tried to start it I watched this video very closely then at the end you turned it on lol keep it 100 am I right?
Yes I had the killswitch in the off position on purpose to show all the steps to go through. If I would have had it in the on position, it probably would have started due to the fact I use fuel stabilizer. Good eye boss.

mine works good now after watching this video, but i’ve noticed it tends to go slower then usual, even when having it the clutch on run. any help ?
Maybe choke was on
Also try taking out your air filter then trying to start it. And try checking your carborator if none of those work
its starts but it dies in 5 sec help me
Have you changed the fuel in the gas tank?

I just bought a new carb and installed it because it would run but then turn off after a bit. It’s still doing it after installing the new carb. Any ideas? Would be appreicated
Do you think the petcock might be partially clogged or the gas tank vent as well?
What if it still don't start? I even cleaned out the carburetor with no luck! Anything else you can think of would be much appreciated?
Are you getting spark from the spark plug?
Sounds like the clutch may be toasted and it's staying engaged, keeping it from starting.
I just bought one today it starts runs for a couple seconds and then turns off would the starter spray fix it?, it is brand new out of the box
Make sure the choke is working and feather the throttle. May need the idle screw adjusted as well. These mini bikes are very cold natured but once warmed up run smooth.
Did you ever get this problem fixed? Mine does the same thing. It starts for a few seconds then dies.
Help me out. Mine will crank only when I’m holding the accelerator and I can drive it a round. Do you know what the problem.??? Thanks
First I'd check to make sure the choke is working then I would adjust the idle screw. Hope this helps.
My Monster moto has been sitting for 3 years I dumped the gas I put fresh gas new oil every time I give it throttle or doesn't go and it stalls

Started the season fresh, new gas, cleaned the carburetor, new plug, new chain, grandson ran it for two days,ran great next day went to start it, starts,quit,starts,quits..what's wrong??
Sounds like it's idling to low and the idle speed needs to be turned up or the clutch is going bad.
i’ve tried doing this a few times and it would start but then stall out after about 3 seconds... should i clean the carburetor? it hasn’t been driven in about 2 years
Yes I would spray the carburetor down with carb cleaner. You have drained all the old gas right?
Where did you get the carbon fiber plastics?
I had the original parts hydrodipped.
Mines stay on thin it turn off I got a new spark plug, new filters, and a new gas head help me bad
Make Shure the lever, on the the right side of the carb,
is set to the front of the bike. That's what was wrong with mine, thanks
I got this bike from my neighbor who left the bike out in the weather. I've cleaned the carburetor and the fuel lines and replaced the spark plug. We can get it going with starting fluid but then it quits and stops working. What could be the problem?
Could need a carb rebuild kit or sometimes the clutch locks up and will stall the engine out. Lift the back tire off the ground while starting it and see it dies or if it keeps running. That will tell you if it's the clutch.

Make sure your choke is off, the air filter is clean, the spark plug is not fouled,and your gas is not gone bad. That's a few things to check before getting into more serious diagnosis.
@@FatherandSonHavingFun Yeah, It's all good as far as those things go. I see now that it's leaking oil from somewhere. Going to have to clean the engine & find the leak.
Mine turns on. Then it turns off after 10 seconds. I don’t know what’s wrong.

How much of that stabilizer do u need to add to that bike
I add it to the fuel storage container, the stabilizer has the amount to add per gallon on the back of the bottle.
Would just starting fluid do the trick? I'm having trouble starting the one I just got in a trade. I know it runs cause I've got it to start, but I tweaked some things and tried to start it again and it wouldn't go
Yeah probably, you might want to put some fresh gas in there depending how long it's been sitting
@@FatherandSonHavingFun it's got fresh gas. I had trouble starting it last night, but I brought it to work with me so we can mess with it, and it started fine. We changed the oil, I lubed it up, and on break I'm gonna get a spark plug and hopefully a brake lever if I can find one

So ours just ran for one day then shut off while in the middle of riding it and it started smoking? Now it won’t start back any advice?
I would start with a spark plug , other than that it sounds like it may be something more serious like a bad carburetor or rings. Hope it's just a fouled spark plug, let us know how it turns out and good luck. Thanks for watching and commenting hope you have a great day.
It's brand new you have to let it run for a week 30 min a day and Sunday ride it a little bit then it's good to go 👍😁😁

my new mini bike would not start, turns out the spark plug cap was unpluged.
Well, I have a problem with mine. It works, but... the fuel won’t go INTO the carberoator. We had to use an air hose and put it in the tank to force it in, and yet it still wasn’t working. It isn’t getting any fuel. Any idea why?
Possibly a bad petcock, will the lever move back and forth to turn the gas off and on or is it stuck?

😒 Still does NOT run on it's own. The Carburetor has been off of it 3 times. The spark plug has been change. It is getting fuel because the fuel valve "when on" flows gas out. Yes, there is oil. It will run 3 seconds on a shot of starter fluid administered in the hole from the removed air filter.

I did know , I had it off for demonstration purposes. Why would it be hard to start? I keep my mini bike in dry storage and keep fuel stabilizer in it.
