Thank you. Cleaning the carburetor did the trick. Saved me a heap of time.
I just watched your video and fixed it myself!!!! Thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
i REALLY wish i watched this a couple of years ago. damn this made that carburetor part so easy. 😂
I wish I could go back and redetail this whole video
Thanks! Quick fix! Started up one pull after cleaning the jets!!
Thanks so much for your video I followed your directions and I fired it right up first pull! Thanks again you really know your stuff 😊Also you made me look like a total badass in front of my friends😊😊🎉
Awesome thanks for watching 😎
Great fix on that one brother . Got a cub cadet with the same engine I got to go thru also so the tips I saw on here will help me out going thru that carb also.
Hey this really helped. I thought I had my carb cleaned but it wasn't. Thanks
I watched four CZcams videos on this and you’re the only one showed that trick of removing the butterfly from the choke shaft to get the choke adjusting rod out, saving taking the whole cowling etc. off. Also thanks for pointing out at the beginning that the plastic pin on the choke assembly goes in between the two metal pins. Saves nagging doubts. (Sure, I took “before” photos but somehow always miss the one thing I really need to know.)
Awesome thank you so much for watching 😊 yeah I try to show tips to help people
I never seen one of these in action, but have seen them before. Yes it takes me a long time to figure out how to put something back together, but I just go to pay attention more. You are my favorite repair guy to watch cause you show everything. I got to say that carburetor is very clean. I would have never thought of guitar string. Wow that works really good and sounds great. Nice job Andrew.
Yeah ran great and customer was happy but this is a lot easier to work on with those studs
@@RepairGang That's what counts they customer is happy with your work. I'm glad it was easier, but you can fix anything. I've never saw a video where you couldn't fix something 👍
I just mowed my lawn with one. Works wonders. Didn't even have to pick up sticks. My yard is full of old walnuts shells that dropped from the tree.
With the two-wheeled string trimmer I don't have to worry about hitting the neighbors house with them...
Right
Thank you for this!! I just ordered the carburetor/full kit from Amazon from the link you provided and really really appreciate the detail in how to fix/tune up my trimmer!
Awesome 😎
A hint on the fuel : Take the top lid loose and you’ll find the tank is integrated.
Tip it back so the tank part is below the carb, disconnect the hose, and set aside.
No clamps needed.
Sweet I try
Dude, I like how you explained it in detail. Thanks.
Thank you for watching
Good job , brother, thanks for sharing.
Thank you
I subbed only cause your outtro is da best ending
Wow made it to the end of the video that awesome 😎😎😎
Thanks. Give me something to tinker with and learn something at the same time. 👍🏾✌🏾
They are awesome
That works nice!
Really nice
You are a life saver!
Glad to help you!
Like the tips I use that small wire also✔💪
That's perfect hard to find a study wire that small sometimes
Thanks, helped get mine running watching your video..... but now a few weeks later I have another issue the head is spinning slow.. if I rev it by hand it speeds up.. belt seems good. Let me know when u get a video for that 😂❤.
Muy bueno.
I understand everything. special
Hi my idler bracket broke for 3rd time on ST100 this time also the belt the one I got from club cadet was at least twice as thick they claimed it was correct an upgraded part after wrestling it back on. Having it sideway etc. Now it wont start, the plug is not wet seems it is not getting gas, it ran great before I worked on it. Could you please give me some things to try should I try the carb repair like you show on your video? Thanks I like that video even I could follow the fix.
Mine is a beast. I've had it two years and had to take it to the shop once as it just stopped running spluttered twice. Was using it for the first time of the season and it did the same thing. .... Good gas ,oil, air filter etc. It will cut some heavy stuff but I think I got a lemon
I don't like this kind i will the ones that you can start and activate like a mower
Quick work of it that's how you make the money yeh and it runs like a new one !
Brand new
I have the gravely.style of this machine it's a One of kind of machine it's made for gravely by Areins
They are pretty good
@@RepairGang yeah buddy 😎😎
I just watched your video and really appreciated how instructive the video was. The language was at a minimum as well. I was going to like your video when I was watching the conclusion of your video but didn't appreciate your conclusive sentence. 🤨
A landlord asked me to get one these Trimmers out her one of her rental properties. I got it home and it seems so hard to pull to try and get it to start with the lever pulled down, for you can't pull the pull cord when you don't have the moveable lever pulled down.
Just for fun I looked up on much they are new and a was rather shocked to see the prices and thought who would leave one behind?
Well, wish me the best on getting it going!
I will start with a fresh Spark Plug and Fuel!
Much love to all humans!
thank you
I have the same problem with mine. Turns out it the spindle assembly. It cost 285.00 on Amazon and 318.00 on the cub cadet page. A new one only costs 399.00. It's a sealed bearing that has frozen up in the spindle.
@@kwytch3154 Wow, that is crazy! I took apart the carburetor on mine and cleaned it thoroughly, as is was gummed up with small particles and was not allowing fuel to pass through it. I put a fuel filter on the gas line and a new air filter. It fired right up. I bought the Oregon string for it and I now have a weed whacker for less than 60 bucks.
That is a bummer on yours!
I see Troy-Bilt has one for 400 bucks at Menard's.
I will admit these trimmers are fun and really whack stuff up.
Thank you for sharing your problems. I guess if my bearing goes out, then the whacker will get recycled. LOL!
Much love to you!
Can you help me with exactly how the spring and spring position goes back on mine isn’t sitting how yours is
Recently we bought one of these machines. The engine does not have an oil filter. Is not having a filter normal for little four stroke lawn mower engines?
I really hope to avoid carburettor problems with this Cub Cadet but if we do I’ll have this video.
Normally for little engines i fuel them with non ethanol fuel. Also I turn the fuel off and run them dry. Do recommend doing this? I figure if the engine runs till it runs out of fuel the carby is less likely to be gummed up by old fuel.
Yes, it's common not to have an oil filter some riding lawn mowers don't have an oil filter. Non-ethanol feel is good. It gets expensive and running. The carburetor dry does help but it'd be better just to turn off the fuel and drain the carburetor
My spring is on backwards or something I’m not understanding?
My butterfly is sitting in the open position when I put everything back on not the closed position
What’s up Andrew! Thanks to your video, i attempted this job myself, thank you! I’m still having a problem tho…I removed the carb, cleaned it with carb cleaner and used a small wired to run through the jet. I drained the old gas and added fresh one. It’s starts up but dies after 3-4 seconds. The machine is new, only used 1 season….do you have any tips or idea what it might be? Thanks in advance brother 🤙🏼
There's still apartments and on the carburetor you haven't cleaned out. Maybe the pilot jet if it's a Honda style? Carburetor maybe a little tiny hole in the side. I recommend just blowing every single hole out with an air compressor on that carburetor. Maybe soaking it in some gasoline? If not, if your gaskets they're either on backwards ripped or not on in the right order
@repairgang I have this exact mower. It sat over the winter. Would not start this spring. I cleaned the carb still won’t start. Ordered a new carb and installed it. Still won’t start. It kicked off but won’t stay running. I’ve tried ether and squirting fuel in the carb. Still can’t get it to stay running with a new carb. Fuel comes out the bowl drain.
Could be the kill switch or the new carburetor is bad which is a possibility. I would need some pictures or more information you can email me
I have the same problem. Did you ever figure out anything?
Cleaning the carburetor as he said worked but I intermittent ly have trouble with the automatic choke not turning off. Any adjustments for the choke?
@@hankschhave no idea
@@rtc-1840no it sat over the winter again. I’m back at it again and I’ve done the basics and it’s still dead
I like your video on the cub cadet, I am about to call 1888- I can't find owners manual. I am looking for my spark plug. Also, where can I get this serviced or is it even worth it?
they worth fixing
❤
Question: What is the size of the Pulleys please? Drive and Driver?
I would have to look
Today my st 100 speed/rpm all the sudden increased while in use. Not sure what happened
“Fuck you” HA! I’m getting ready to buy one of these and thought I’d watch a carb repair. Not crazy about the automatic choke and lack of throttle control. Thanks for the video! Ass munch!
No problem 😃
A six year old takes pics which saves memorizing
your title should really be more specific. because it's so general it pops up as a solution for everything, even changing the wheel axle.
How do you replace spark plug
13/16 socket
Followed directions. Alas, at one point the connecting piece for the automatic choke to somewhere fell down onto the bed. I tried guessing where it goes but probably guessed wrong.
Now the thing starts but won't run at full speed - chugs along as if still fully choked.
JUNK... Any ideas? Too many wraps on spring? Something else?
Ironically, it was probably bad gas all along!!!
Update: Guess what? I watched the video 3 times and repair guy said, "Make sure the choke thingie is between the two rails of the other thingie". I said to myself, "SELF! Make sure the choke thingie is between the two rails of the other thingie!"
I opened it up again the day after I posted the above and sure enough, The choke thingie was on the outside of the two rails on the other thingie which was holding the choke CLOSED. I reinstalled the carb with the choke thingie in the correct place, burned out the rest of the bad gas in the line and IT RUNS!
So, kids, don't forget to put the Choke Thingie BETWEEN the two rails of the other thingie when you put the carb back on.
Update: Spoke too soon - won't run over a slow idle and can't wack weeds. Frustrating! 😞
"AUTOMATIC CHOKE" WILL NOT OPEN. DAMN! Gonna' try wiring it open and see if wacker engine will run at normal speed.
(I pretty much HATE "automatic" anything that doesn't work correctly and gives you no other decent options)
Change the spark plug!
I have a different brand but that running all the time is dangerous I think. But it’s a cheap set up
Right
It’s a power horse nothing like it
The only flaw with this one is you can't leave it running and have the the string not moving. I like the ones where you can start and then activate the string. Deactivate the string without killing the engine
It would have been nice if the cutting strings were closer to the ground on this model, why do you want to cut weeds 3" off the ground.
Good video. I have this exact trimmer. I use it 3 or 4 times a year. Sits stored most of the year. And yes, I do use stabilizer. I live in Wyoming and winters are long. I will try cleaning the carb since mine doesn't want to stay running.
that should do it. dont use stabilizer unless its seafoam
What was initially wrong with the trimmer? Why did the trimmer not want to run and just suddenly "fixed" itself? This could be a pretty good source if you would prepare, slow down, and edit your camera work. Oh, and is it a Honda engine?
It didn't fix itself. The carburetor was clogged and I found out it's a Kohler engine, not a Honda
Yeah real smart jack what were you thinking with when you typed this comment, your pretty much just told everyone you don't know what your talkin about😆
@@ItsGinter234 I'm guessing he means the auto choke, where it just wouldn't disengage, then he cut camera for a sec and then it was working fine. I'm guessing it finally caught up? We have one of these and the auto choke is a piece of shit that doesn't disengage half the time and haven't found a great way to make it reliable. At least it runs now, but did he actually fix this part or is the owner gonna have auto choke problems every time like I do?
Great video. Very helpful.
Here's different way to handle disassembly of the choke - instead of pulling the butterfly and fidgeting with the spring...czcams.com/video/RRw2gmgR8xQ/video.html
are you kidding with this video? i am sea sick and need to puke
@@mikeloschiavo7049 I apologize
These Cub Cadet carbs are the worst! Way over complicated, too many moving parts, springs etc...
Get a tripod!!!!
I have one now
I really appreciate the information but because of your language I can’t give you a thumbs up. I’m sure you have a lot you can teach me but I don’t want to wade through the language to get at it… especially your closing comment.
Lol I'm sorry I cuss less in newer videos
