    I watched four CZcams videos on this and you’re the only one showed that trick of removing the butterfly from the choke shaft to get the choke adjusting rod out, saving taking the whole cowling etc. off. Also thanks for pointing out at the beginning that the plastic pin on the choke assembly goes in between the two metal pins. Saves nagging doubts. (Sure, I took “before” photos but somehow always miss the one thing I really need to know.)

      I have the same problem with mine. Turns out it the spindle assembly. It cost 285.00 on Amazon and 318.00 on the cub cadet page. A new one only costs 399.00. It's a sealed bearing that has frozen up in the spindle.

      @@kwytch3154 Wow, that is crazy! I took apart the carburetor on mine and cleaned it thoroughly, as is was gummed up with small particles and was not allowing fuel to pass through it. I put a fuel filter on the gas line and a new air filter. It fired right up. I bought the Oregon string for it and I now have a weed whacker for less than 60 bucks.

    Recently we bought one of these machines. The engine does not have an oil filter. Is not having a filter normal for little four stroke lawn mower engines?
    I really hope to avoid carburettor problems with this Cub Cadet but if we do I’ll have this video.
    Normally for little engines i fuel them with non ethanol fuel. Also I turn the fuel off and run them dry. Do recommend doing this? I figure if the engine runs till it runs out of fuel the carby is less likely to be gummed up by old fuel.

    • @RepairGang
      @RepairGang  Před rokem +1

      Yes, it's common not to have an oil filter some riding lawn mowers don't have an oil filter. Non-ethanol feel is good. It gets expensive and running. The carburetor dry does help but it'd be better just to turn off the fuel and drain the carburetor

    • @RepairGang
      @RepairGang  Před rokem +1

      There's still apartments and on the carburetor you haven't cleaned out. Maybe the pilot jet if it's a Honda style? Carburetor maybe a little tiny hole in the side. I recommend just blowing every single hole out with an air compressor on that carburetor. Maybe soaking it in some gasoline? If not, if your gaskets they're either on backwards ripped or not on in the right order

      I opened it up again the day after I posted the above and sure enough, The choke thingie was on the outside of the two rails on the other thingie which was holding the choke CLOSED. I reinstalled the carb with the choke thingie in the correct place, burned out the rest of the bad gas in the line and IT RUNS!
