- Earthquake M605 setup and working review. Needed another tool to work on the property. Zero turn is too big for the up close work. Also much easier then a handheld trimmer. Great tool that family has even borrowed for clearing overgrown yards.

Just purchased Earthquake trimmer after watching your video and very pleased needed a trimmer to do the yard at my cabin it worked great. thanks for making the video
I appreciate that, still loving it and it started first pull this year and went right to work.
Man. It's hard to start because you have the cutter engaged !
Yeah, I figured that out later. Used to my mower that needs the handle pulled to start.
I had no idea these type of machines existed….am thinking bout purchasing. Thank you for your review
I still love mine, pulled it out of the shed and it started on second pull.
Bought one this year...
Starts easy, trims well, and has enough power to do what I need it to do.
Paired with my Stihl fs56rc, my rock pile of a yard hasn't defeated me, yet lol
Yes still love mine.
My Earthquake was the best purchase I ever made in my own personal war against weeds, baby trees, and prickly vines. It goes everywhere and doesn't mind bedrock sticking up out of the field. The worst thing that happens is you replace the cable, which is easier to do than a weedwacker.
Yeah I am happy with it. I use it mostly for cleaning up the fence line and getting to tight places that the mower can't fit. Oh and rough terrain.
Good video, thanks
Be careful operating around loose wire. It can violently pull the trimmer from your hands with enough force to break an arm.
You don't hold the handle down to start it, that engages the trimmer lines. Mine works fine.
Yes, I am used to a lawnmower requiring that, I realized it later after thinking about why do I need to hold it since the cutoff switch is separate.
ibve got that almost exact same one, but it is a bit older, and with a viper 150cc engine, so a teeny bit smaller, but it runs great and I love it. Hope you do too, what is ur 11 month follow up?
Nice, it's a giant weed wacker..
Also great at finding metal wire..😂
Yes it can be used as a metal detector as well.
@@imperfectfarm3436 Metal Collector!
Would you have any idea how to change the mower head?
What do you need to wear rubber gloves for it’s really not needed
Mainly for dealing with gasoline, don't like the smell on my hands.
❤❤
I got rid of every one of those stupid gas cans like that and went back to the old ones. They spill less.
I get a lot of grass wrapping around the inside between the shaft and mower head. Have to stop frequently to get it out. Do you have this problem?
Yes that happens to me as well. I did lower the drum to make a lower cut and it closed that opening. Seems to work better now and stays cleaner.
How does this compare to a 50cc brush cutter? I am really considering this type of mower for efficiency but something is holding me back. Will I be able to push it on rough terrain or does the terrain need to be flat?
I push mine over rough terrain and it works well. There have been a few times that I could see a self powered one would be nice, but then you get more cost and heavier to handle. I don't have much that is flat and even around here.
Take 2 lol
Out of curiosity, how often do you have to adjust the belt?
I've never adjusted the belt, hasn't been an issue.
I'm looking at the Earthquake string mowers now. Please tell me the reasons you decided on the Briggs and Stratton engine over the Viper engine? TIA
I wasn't comparing engines in this decision, however my model does have the Viper. I was looking at reviews comparing the string mowers based on feedback and also price. I had looked into the DR string mowers and comparable but more expensive. This does everything I need, I do wish it was self propelled but that would have pushed it beyond the budget as well. I did get a spool of Cyclone Desert Extrusion CY155S3 .155" x315' Commercial Line that is so much better then the type that comes with the model.
@imperfectfarm3436 Briggs & Stratton today are junk & have plastic carburetors. Who makes viper & is the carburetor plastic as well?
Where can I purchase the cord? I have that machine and need new line! Thanks much !
This is what I bought and it works really well. Cyclone Desert Extrusion CY155S3 .155" x315' Commercial Line Red
😮😂
😢😢 remember children safety first don't play with flammable gas ⛽...
😢😮 how much it's the Trimmer I want to buy one to ahhhhhhhhhhh!????
is this face mask a mandatory when you use EARTHQUAKE trimmer? Just asking for a friend...
No, however I have had bad grass allergies and the mask helps contain some of that. I actually just mowed today with my zero turn and wore goggles, hearing protection and a mask. I probably looked like an alien but with being end of season it kicks up so much dust that it creates a dust cloud.
Do not buy this this is a scam they have it set to low on rpm and won't tell you how to adjust governor
Hmm. How do you mean? The RPM's were more then enough for cutting down anything except mature blackberry vines, they more or less were like cables and just wrapped around the spindle.
Governors have been on small engines since the '60's at least. The governor lever is there to limit the revs because small engines are not made to rev too high so you can avoid destroying the engine. It's on the left side if standing at the handle. You can take a wire and add a few more RPM by putting one end of the wire in the spring hole and the other end in something that won't move, pulling it back toward the handle. Mine is fine where it is and works.
I have this exact model, and I’m delighted with it. The RPMs seem to be more than enough for Rose Of Sharon, maple, mimosa, and elm saplings as well as overgrown grass and thistle.
@@braddemoss8208 I'm still loving mine, it can get it to places the mower or zero turn just can't.
@@twagner6155man, I zip tied the governor on my minibike for a little more top speed, that was 3 years ago and still runs fine !
