- I didn't know IKEA carried art supplies, so as soon as I found out they did... I had to try them for myself!

I literally got so excited!!! Then the cap fell off. Ahahahaha... then I heard my name. 😶
Hahaha, I was excited too. The cap falling off is disappointing, I had faith in the marker.
I just got markers where the caps fit o the bottom and I thought of you :D
Same 😂
😂😂😂
Me too
When you mentioned that you've never combined watercolor and crayons before, I had to think of an art project we did in elementary school. We were drawing a bunch of fishes with crayons on a peace of paper and then went straight over it with watercolor. The parts with crayon wouldn't be coloured and that made a somehow really cool effect idk. Maybe you could try something similar?
Loved the video!
This unlocked a memory
Oooo I did this but with flowers! They were so cool!
I did this!
I guess it's cause the crayons are like wax and watercolour is, well, water!
@@yeetirosina yesss, that was what our teacher told us as well, I think we used it for the airbubbles in the water!
I did the same thing such cute fishies yay
A sales associate goes to interview for a job at IKEA.
The manager says, “Welcome! Come in and make a seat."
Tut tut
You: "Don't you mean take a seat?"
Manager: "No."
@@stuffness8098 Manager: Haha, no. Now go make your seat
*badum tsssss* 🥁
You: "Don't you mean assemble a seat?"
Manager: "Yes and, You're hired!! Congratulations!"
"How do you mess upp a pencil sharpener" All pencil sharpeners are messed up I almost never get one that works.
Not gonna lie I was really hoping for an ant illustration full of ants picking out furniture at IKEA and eating meatballs :)
She should do this in another video!
That would be ✨amazing✨
I was born in sweden and I loved off these art products i used them all The time. The nostalgia hit like a truck i loved these sooo much
Ikr, I can TASTE these markers
I was legit at IKEA a couple of days ago with my sister, aunt, and niece. The paper caught my eye but some of the supplies I was questioning the quality of. My aunt was trying to convince me that they were probably good and that I should give them a shot (she is an IKEA junkie for context, haha).
They're good for kids! But they're not professional quality exactly, which is why they're all in the kids section
@@infamoussphere7228 yeah. They're not for professional uses, BUT they're so freaking fun to use ^^
i like the watercolors! def not superb quality tho haha
@@Jasper-ds3pe Tbh, I actually really like the neon hues. I would love to have a dark pallette with colours like those mixed in for some of my magical OCs.
I mean theyre alright, theyre very cheap so you cant exactly expect something amazing
2:37 look at how closely the blue and purple line up with the "MALA" logo
MÅLA
The brand of the art stuff is littelary called paint as in" To Paint" in swedish not like the watercolorpaint paint but the actual act of painting you get me? xD
IKEAs names are so goofy.
In Spanish Mala means like bad/evil so my first impression of this wasn’t that great haha thanks for clarifying
There's an Ikea glass bowl that has the same name as my little brother which we make fun of him for every time we go there 😂
@@alize0623 also, Å isnt a A, it actually sounds very diffrent and stands for a sound that is unique to the northern countries! :) like Ä och Ö.
You should take flower/grass pigments and use them to paint!
That's such a cool idea, I hope she sees this.
That’s fun to do
or also fruits n veggies
This should be pinned!
*OH YES!!*
I have an IKEA joke
but there's some assembly required
I get it.
@@salina_mohammed ok.
Honestly one of the most satisfying swatch pages I've ever seen
Okay, but no joke- the round brushes in that set are baller for the price! They hold a lot of paint and come to a really nice point
Kasey: IKEA
Me: *OURkea*
And for those wondering what "MÅLA" means in Swedish, it means "to paint". I speak every language. *The more you know*
How do you say "great" in urdu
@@iftikhardurrani1909 lmao 😆
@@iftikhardurrani1909 "اچھا" "or in English "acha
Wait, Ur telling me Ikea names are actual words?!!
@@talibabbas5277 yeah they're just swedish
Aw dang it, I really wanted to hear you say ”Måla”. It’s always interesting to hear people guessing the Å sound 😅
Glad you enjoyed them, this piece turned out REALLY great 😍
I just pronounce it the same as an á in Irish. As more of an o sound
@@goronslime1469 that probably sounds quite correct 😀
if you don’t mind me asking, how do you pronounce it? i’m not Swedish but i’m rlly curious!
I work there and I, the 2 Swedes and the 3 Finns working there are the only people who say å correctly :D (my partner's Finnish so I speak a little Finnish, pronunciations of Swedish words are not exactly the same but they call å "ruotsalainen o" - swedish o.) One of the Swedes has Å in her name and thankfully everyone says it correctly, they just don't bother when they're talking about Måla or Blåhuva or Blåbärsmott or whatever, because in Australia å, ä, ö, ü are basically just decorations unless you've learned a language that includes them
Is it like an Icelandic á
OH MY GAHD I got those markers for Christmas and I had no clue that IKEA made supplies like this! I tried everything to use them better but I still got some really great results besides the terrible cap color match.
I was so excited to see a video about this cause I had no clue what to think of Måla since I’ve never been to IKEA or had any of their furniture before lol
Old Kasey made a small appearance right in this video, when you got excited by the sap green marker.
But new Kasey told her to stfu and never even used the marker. 😂🤣
Beautiful piece as always.
I love IKEA’s crayons and markers. I always buy them for my kid and end up using them myself.
Ikea really is super versatile with their art products for arts and crafts.
They’re cheap and not top notch but they’re not bad either. Especially for kids. The big pack of papers are a must every time I visit. And the crayons are one of the best I’ve tried!
im just so impressed by how kasey can make such masterpieces by using cheaper & more simple art supplies !!!
“Buy furniture and also eat meatballs”
Me who’s never been to IKEA
W H A T
Ikr it’s the best thing, a 2 for one! 😂
I am actually from Sweden and it was really fun to see this. Because I have grown up to using ikeas markers and stuff. (We have been on a budget my whole childhood).
*That moment when the cap fell*
Waffle's enthusiasm: *falls from 100 to zero*
The paper from Ikea used to be my absolute favorite paper (especially the white paper). I used it for YEARS before transitioning to an actual sketchbook
I recommend using the water color pencils over normal watercolors to add detail
When I first moved to Sweden at 6 years old and went to ikea all of my art supplies were from there. I loved those markers so much and surprisingly they still worked 3 years after I bought them
I think you can use any art supply like the Cheap, expensive, those who overlap, streaky, or fading ones to give your art a texture, perspective, or unique style overall
I love how textured this piece is! Also the neon worms remind of gummy worms 😂
i adore how this piece came out! the vibrant colors were so fun and i really like how the dirt turned out after you layered the different materials :3
I was at ikea and bought art paper from them. The paper was awful! Def kid grade, Not art grade!😂
The paper seems fine as long as you don’t add water... or anything wet, hahaha.
@@KaseyTheGolden i tried prisma colors on it and the paper tore up when I tried to add layers :( I could imagine water color would be a disaster!
@@STICKYArt oh wow, even colored pencils tear it? that's a yikes from me
Love this video. Please do another few using these art supplies together and sepparately. I absolutely love the picture! Great job. What is the quality of the supplies and how long will they last? Did anything fade ect.?
My Ikea art supplies are what really got me into art, I actually still have some of the paint and the colored pencils
This is so cute. I love it! You inspire me so much kasey
I really love this piece! I really didn't think I would be a fan of the worms but it gave off a really nice vibe. It reminded me of the show Hilda.
I was giggling like crazy at those paint noises, that was peak comedy
I've have their watercolor set (the normal one) and I've been using it for years!!
Also i still use and love the brushes that came with it
I'm so excited to see Kasey move around phases, I remember Earthy Kasey and now we're getting to know Rainbow Kasey, isn't awesome????
Thank you for test Ikea art supplies honestly. 🙂After I saw there is no any wax residue when you test ikea crayons and heard you said it's smooth and better than Crayola, I went to Ikea and bought it today. I just test it and just like you said. It is really good quality. Smooth and no residue! It's my favorite crayon so far. The only downside is 12 color available. I wish they have more color.
I’ve been using ikea art supplies for a while and I’m really excited that your reviewing them! Also I would love if you could review Mini so art supplies
I just love your drawing with worms it looks really cute ! 💜💜💜
when the video is exactly 15:00 minutes long instant satisfaction even before the video has started plus this drawing defiantly could be a scene from an IKEA advert for sure.
This is my favorite worm piece yet! (Hopefully there are more 👀)
Your artwork is always delightfully whimsical.
your art just makes me happy
I used to only have access to IKEA on family vacations to other states and it was always a trip highlight as a kid. We’d get to pick one souvenir and mine was always an IKEA art supply kit! It came packaged in a pull out drawer thing and had a surprisingly wide selection of mediums! I can thank IKEA for my childhood messes into oil pastels and charcoal pencils. 😂
Amazing thanks for inspiration 👍.. I really appreciate everything that you do! 🙈😍
The final product made me so happy the rainbow worms in the background- my heart it's just too cute
awwh that's so cute, didn't know ikea had swedish words on them outside sweden :D "måla" means "to paint"
the purple shading with the crayon looks so incredible i kinda want to test crayons like that now???
This is such an adorable illustration
I love this. Totally want the finished drawing so bad. Lol 😍🤣😭
i had been using a handful of these product cuz my grandma got me them about 4-5 yrs ago i still use them today!!
love your videos. Everytime I need to rest and chill ypur video is coming out!
The whimsy of this piece really spoke to me. LOVE IT!!
Love the neon rainbow. =)
Cool illustration. =)
When I was at IKEA I got the same markers and I really like them such beautiful colours except I got a smaller set
Wow, this is impressive. Such a lovley illustration.
Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk walk into Ikea.
"Avengers…assemble!"
omg i can definitely see this art piece in one of their showcase rooms
This is really cool Kasey!
2:34 I love how the purple and the blue spell Mala perfectly 😂
The rainbow worm cloud just.. tickled my brain and made me so happy lol
This art is magical! You inspire me a lot with your worms, because I'm making a book about ghosts, who also like to break frames. Please, draw all the worms in the world if you need to.
Btw, watercolor pencils are anything, but extra, if used in appropriate situations. It's a great way to expand your colour pallet as a beginner, because, where I live, good watercolor pencils are way, way more affordable, than good watercolor set of the same or much smaller size. Also, when you need to use children's grade watercolor, watercolor pencils look great on top of flat wash of those (once dried). It's more effective, than trying to layer cheap watercolor on it's own. And they kind of look more cohesive in mix media watercolor pieces, compared to regular pencils. They are also softer and can look almost like crayons if you need them to, but without that waxiness.
All in all, IMHO, you are too focused on putting them down in pencil form and then dissolving it into watercolour. That's why it seems so excessive. But I have a feeling, that with particular uses you may come to enjoy them more, if you feel the need to use this material again.
There's an Ikea store somewhat close-ish by to where my grandparents live, but not one anywhere in the entire vicinity of my entire county.
Nice drawing! I really like it
I love making abstract pieces with IKEA kids art supplies it makes for quite a pleasant sensory experience especially for when you need to wind down.
* paint "fart sounds" *
Kasey: Why is that funny? It's not funny.
Ummmmmm... I respectfully disagree.
We got much of these at home because me and my siblings were such artists when we were little.
The artwork actually turned out great 😍❤
I remember when I was re doing my room and my grandma bought me new curtains and as I wasn't feeling the best (I was sick) she surprised me with these paints and I got so excited lol
I really like this drawing that you made
Wth I went to ikea today and got the måla stamps, come home to this in recommend?? First time I've seen your channel too!😆
your texturing is hands down ~da best~
no joke.
Måla = paint (verb) in swedish
Btw love the art :)
that was fun, I like your video, and review of ikea art supplies.
If you mix the deep blue IKEA paint with the pink one you can actually make a decent purple! I learned this because I use IKEA paint a lot more than I’d like to admit haha
That piece turned out so nice
These at 2:51 are pretty good, my sister has been using them since she was 6 and let me just say its good enough to not dry out if you leave them open for a day or even two. Very good for kids who just open every cap and leave it there
Update on earthy-coloured casey: she was walking down some brightly coloured stairs, got overwhelmed and fell down said brightly coloured stairs, and is now in a coma.
I'd love a video of just the felt tip markers
My first Ikea art supply was a paint set that i got when i was little. It was only a few years ago i realised that i was from the same country as Ikea is from
Oooh-mg! Every single one! Made me giggle!
A long time ago, I was in Ikea and I saw those coloured pencils you used. I thought they were interesting so I got them to try them out. Plus, they weren't expensive. I forget about them and they are still in our house's library to this day.
You have a library????
@@jessfidler2356 kind of
It's just a normal sized room with bookshelves and books. And it also has our old school books in it, our childhood books, and it has a our childhood toys, too.
Oh Kasey, fart sounds are ALWAYS funny
J'aime beaucoup tes illustrations tu a un style très particulier qui fait le charme de tes dessins .
6:15 That tone looks exactly like a furniture paint color my mom has used, I've made it myself using pencil
The flowers looks like fried eggs ! 🍳
I call them my fried egg flowers!! :D
I have those paint! I had them at 7-8 and they worked pretty well
That picture is insane/amazing! Love it! 😍🥰😘😻❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍🤎🖤! Maybe would consider buying those Art supplies! 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Damn, that's some goopy paint
Though the lack of the iconic short pencil upset me a little 😆
I got those brushes and those paints but in a bigger set and I hate it 😂 and the sad part for me with the paint was I did not get black or white paint with the set so I hated it even more
My favourite artsupply to sketch with is the black ballpoint pen from IKEA 👀
OMGG. this is the earliest I've ever been to one of your videos!!!!... ok... I'm calming down now
Your wood textures are really impressive.
I bought the watercolor pencils and the felt tip markers as well.
The watercolor pencils are actually nice in my opinion but I haven't used them a whole lot. Mostly swatching.
The felt tip markers however...after prolonged use, they end up drying out. Not forever but they run out of ink and you need to give them a moment. I only did one piece of artwork with them so I was a little disappointed. I'll have to try them out again and see if they dried out permanently.
omg i want the watercolors 😩
i absolutely love your art
I like the color and the shades
I loved the piece i just felt that something was missing in the background
i tried 3 kinds of them and they are pretty decent.
comparing to aed its pretty cheap! but having to buy all these colours on their own was really not cheap anymore
This is the most 'neat' swatching page I have ever seen !!
