That heart sinking feeling after hearing a rough engine on first start
interestingly enough i made same mistake as he did with throttle body wires after replacing intake manifold on c350 merc. My heart sank after first start lol but once wired properly it was all good
@@dulisha I've only ever managed to swap spark plug wires and it was banging and popping like mad, luckily no engine damage 😂
That's too be expected
I really recommend the E55 M113k rebuild series. Once you’ve started you’ll watch it all.
Man i love this channel. RAW content. Different cars coming up.
A new engine block from Mercedes lists for a whopping $35,370. That was an incredible find for $400!
This is exactly the content i want to see ! I like your videos so much ! I want to be able to work on cars like you after my studies
I love a happy ending! Great to see business is now growing and hopefully soon booming for you and your shop! I'll definitely spread the word!
Makes popcorn....
Munches away watching the transformation of the engine rebuild!
Yes!
Man! This is legit! And this is what I ever wanted to watch in this channel!
You're awesome! I wish I could rebuild engines like that!
How much did u charge for labor bro
Unbelievable work !!! Loved watching your series of videos on the 55k !!! Had a smile on my face when the test drive went well 🤠👌🏻
Amazing work!!! Much enjoyed! I learn something every time you open one of these m113k engines up.
Amazing job u did with this amazing car... I can imagine how happy the owner really is
So good!! Nice to see something so mechanically in depth related to our m113 engines (or amg for that matter), something that is so few and far between on youtube.
Man I love the W219 CLS 55 AMG and that M113k engine.
amazing job in that short time. very impressive.
Came across this video by accident. I love your attitude and ability. Cheers!
Nice work man!
what a rewarding feeling to start an engine after rebuild💪
Honestly shows you when you learn this trait of work u can save your pockets big money
Hot damn dude, quality work!! Would visit your shop if you didn’t live on the other side of the planet. Would love to have long chats about these engines as a fellow enthusiast. But maybe one day i will who knows😁
Very respect you rebuild the CLS55 👏👏👏
Nice job man.. Keep going looking forward to your next videos..
Yet another great watch. I'll be referring back to these when I tear down my E55 block.
miata oweners : *i feel my heart crack* 😢
The M113 is a beautiful peace of art

You know your sh..! Your video gives me confidence because I am about to do a inspection timing chain and reseal on my 560 SEC. Thanks.
Congrats on the build! Tasos will be proud ,you didn't put to much silicone :)
Nice workshop and equipment.
Awesome work
uuuhhh cant wait for the R32 build!
Excellent work!
Good job dude!
Excellent!
Fantastic job. Great to see you already having many customers.
Excited for the Skyline.
I hope the "MaxCut" video isn't too far off in the future, of course customers come first
Good job. Need one AMG
excellent video. Just subscribed. Good job on $400 cls engine
Well done
Amazing great job!
Bravo!
well done, good job
great content on this channel
Top videos!
This my dream car! I’ve always wanted one!
Impressive!!!
I imagine this MB will have plates that say "GET BLOWN" :-)
Great content
Please please keep showing these removal and or installation of Mercedes Benz engines, even detailed engine tear down and rebuild videos, even though I know you did one already. I’ve seen enough LS engine tear down and rebuild videos, don’t need to see anymore. Please keep detailed Mercedes Benz videos coming 😀
I always enjoy your videos.
How much did it cost in labor?
Great job! What a huge project. I hope the owner can now enjoy that nice car... ;)
Judging by the way the owner drives the car, and his last attempt at maintaining the engine (where he got the timing wrong) I'll give this engine another 100km.
David Griffin 😂👍 I hope it’s still in one piece...
Yes it is David Griffin. Thanks for your concern 😎
Great video. Love the new shop. Should look into a parts cleaner/washer
i bought a used jet wash cabinet from a mr trans that moved, best money ever spent
Good job man
Hahahahaha hard to go back when you're once had the
experience with an AMG ha? Can't blame you there ! Nice rebuild ! Imagin you had to find a engine in good condition that runs ...oooooff that would burn a hole into your pocket ! Have fun !
"its a stupid miata" literally laughed out loud
This was amazing. Very, very cool to see. Watching that rocker assembly come out as 1 unit blew my mind. Really, really good to see inside the M113K finally. It inspires me to dig in to why I get ticking above 2500 RPM in my M113 in my C55 when the engine is cold. I think the front cover has to come off.
I have the same ticking above 2500rpm with my C55 too. Did you ever find out what it was?
Excellent task 👌🏽
Bravo guys...
Hello!! Great job!! How many labor hours did it take more or less to do it?
You are good man I wish you were here in Chicagoland
Amazing job buddy, you really know your Mercs, I'm picking you worked for a Mercedes dealership at one stage.
@14:45 I like how much you tried to justify wanting to start the engine with no exhaust. It's okay man, no engine swap is truly done without the open header cold start ritual.
What a coincidence, I found the same condition engine for similar price few weeks ago!
If I could give 10 likes I would. Great work sire under duress and time constraints.
Good work! And good video! Next time you come to Cali, youre gonna have to help me swap out my M113(c55)w a M156...I already have the M156 just need to swap it now😅
Have thought about getting into the v12 m275, its a far superior & reliable platform. And some much more untap potential.
Wow the foreshadowing
Good job
All the bad lucky is cured cos you tickled the engine. Awesome.
Ace!
I love this motor
new video nice
you make it easy bro
You’re a badass. Unbelievable.
I saw the oil pan from the old motor and laughed because it happened to me changing motors between a Riviera and Buick Electra that the steering links benieth the car are different requiring exact pan. Great job!
what the fuck are you talking about
Amazing work man! I'm sure the owner must have been so happy to get it back after all the disappointments.
That ‘stupid Miata’ isn’t from a customer, is it? 🤣
😂😂😂
Customer won’t be happy lol
Good way to lose business, it's someone's pride and joy, need to show some respect or just turn them away at the door..
IJ AWD E36 lets pretend like we know the whole story- seems legit
IJ AWD E36
The Miata was from a friend of him.
I heard that bmw used to leave their engines in the rain outside to “season” the block before building them up for racing. So this should be a reliable engine 😉
Don't want them to be pampered, getting too comfortable, gotta put them in their place.
that was only for the F1 race engines back in the day when F1 cars were angry turbocharged 1000+hp monsters. The blocks were taken from cars that drove quite some distance and left outside, the reasoning was that any fault would have shown itself by then...if it was still good = flawless block, ready to be destroyed after one race ;-)
Yes that was for the M series engine on old E30 actually
Not only rain, in the documentary the German technician said we even urinated on it few times 😂. Apparently it was because the first version block was prone to cracking or something. So they made a new version and part of the testing phase was to leave it outside in freezing conditions etc.
Jayden s That was called weathering. Honda did it first by taking road going car engines that had done at least 50k then rebuilt for F1. Modern day heat treating and materials, coatings eliminate the need to do this anymore. This was one of Honda unknown secrets to reliability and power for quite a while in 80s. As there was less expansion on engine parts tighter tolerances could be used to gain hp without extra friction.
Scrap yards mechanics are the best
so jealous. I really want to get a C55. So hard to find a good one.
You guys are fantastic ! It's not easy to work on a Mercedes engine ! Or so I heard !!!
good job
What a steal for 400$. Also scary O ring for the coolant and oil passages, seems like bad design. The same thing goes for the chain rubbing, I would grind that completely.
O-rings still good on an old poorly maintained engine. Looks like a good design, and a not a problem. I guess that is why when taken care of, these can go over 400,000 miles.
Same on BMWs too
Am so happy for you man. You have to check tasos moschatos channel if you don't already know him
He is a mercedes beast.......one of the best if you ask me!!!........I want his signature on my engine under my cls hood.......that would be awesome
@@trentdawg2832 Yes sir, and SK8215 is a beast also, he deserves to be in F1 or Indycar
@@Fifou001 definitely, he is very talented that is for sure....I wish I could build a car or 2 with spare parts from scratch
I have a 04 E55 all I can say is it’s like a Missile!!! Only small down fall if it had a faster gear shift like the C63 it would of been a pure challenger for any supercar. 😎
For those snapped bolts , why not weld a nut on and leave to cool , this will release the threads, or use an induction heater.
There's any chance you have the cylinders head from the Mercedes 55
Nice video ! Well done job ! Wonder how much this shop charged the car owner for 4 days of work ?
Re the timing chain eating away the internal fitting on the cover - is that purely a function of some problem with the tensione/guides or is it a design clearance issue?
