    Your videos are very informative! I’d love it if you did one on hot tub folliculitis. I’ve had a stubborn case and became aware that there’s not really a lot of information out there about treatments when it’s persistent.

    I’m trying the Peter Thomas Roth 20% THD serum on my face and the Vanicream 5% on my neck and chest. So far both are pleasantly hydrating and no skin reaction. Normally I will not use any skincare product with an active unless there is good science supporting the active.
    But after at least 20 years of never enjoying any of the L Ascorbic acid vitamin c serums I tried, I decided to try THD serums even though the collagen production has only been proven in laboratories. For stimulating collagen production I exfoliate 3x/week with a 10% glycolic acid product and 5 out of 7 days each week I use tretinoin 0.05%. With those 2 proven collagen production stimulating chemicals in my routine I am willing to take a chance that the THD doesn’t help collagen production.
    I’m going to hedge my bets a bit by cha going my day moisturizer to the Paula’s Choice C5 Moisturizer, which has 2 other vitamin c derivatives.

    Thank you Dr. Bowe for this educational video. I would like to know what minimum percentage is good for THD in a product to be effective. Thanks again.

      I used THD in combination with 3-o-ethyl ascorbic acid at a total concentration of 15% when I formulated mine. Many products with THD don't even disclose the % they are using. It's also hard to assess the potency of a vit C just by looking at the % of vit C because we know that antioxidants work better together- so a blend of other antioxidants along with the Vit C might end up creating a more effective product. Also so important to look at the packaging- airless pumps are the way to go with vit C, in my opinion.

      I'm coming out with a follow up video where I'll review all my fav vit C serums, but the two that immediately come to mind are my Dr. Whitney Bowe Beauty Asta C serum (linked under the video) and the Skinbetter Science vitamin C serum- both have water and lipid loving antioxidants. Hope that helps!

    What brands do you recommend for a tight budget for brightness?

    • @DrWhitneyBowe
      @DrWhitneyBowe  Před 7 měsíci

      I will be posting a roundup with my favorite brightening vit C serums very soon here on this channel. Although I do share a few less $$ options in that video, the clinically proven serums that have strong science behind them tend to be on the pricier side. Creating a stable, potent formulation and then performing studies to prove the efficacy of that serum can get very expensive, so unfortunately the brands most derms recommend that are backed by strong science usually range from $80-$182 especially for vit C serums.

    Hello, I would like to ask if I can make face yoga and massage after botox?
    If it possible how long time should I wait after botox to start face massage?
    Cause I used to do massage to my face

    • @DrWhitneyBowe
      @DrWhitneyBowe  Před 7 měsíci

      I tell my patients to wait about 4 hours after botox before any facial massage in the areas that were injected.
