I get excited when you do a first start, I can imagine that even stronger for you no many times you do it. So many things have to work right and with a complete tear down you never know if it’s going to leak, have an odd wiring issue or just an unhappy ecu.

I’m no expert but I’ve blown up a couple of engines myself. And the look of the piston is signs of excessive cylinder pressure that is causing the rings to literally burn off in the engine and making the smoke. Maybe consider using a meth injection kit for when your going on them trips to Mexico to help with that heat.

Should fix the fan shroud a little spacing between the shroud and radiator fin will help pull air through the fins that's not directly infront of the fan

Honest question: when you build the radiator shroud flat like that, arent you only basically using the middle of the radiator since air cant pass as freely through the blocked off parts?
He used wide rubber seal on the outside of the shroud to rise and use all the surface of the radiator to cool. Its not blocked because he raised it with the seal.

If the rings aren't gapped higher for boost setup, and still with same gap as NA setup, under higher compression, or increased compression, the pistons rings normally expand as the heat increases under acceleration and the gap gives room for the rings to do so, but if the increased heat gain due to boosting it, isn't considered and compensated in the ring gapping, that usually is the reason majority of the time, for the rings lands to disintegrate and melt as the rings bend due to not having enough gap during expansion and ring lands are the thinnest and weakest point immediately next to the rings. Rings will expand and push both outwards into the cylinder walls, also increasing compression intermittently, increasing heat even more untill the lands break, crack, melt, and rings can find some room, and once cools down, and normal driving, more normal temps, and rings don't expand as much, the ring to wall clearance is increased and oil gets by, resulting with the engine smoking.
So are you saying leave the gaps alone when boosting?. I have a k24a turbo with na pistons and I don't notice smoke at all when I'm driving
@@Biggusdikusincontinentabuttoks no increase the piston gaps depending on how much boost u plan to run. If it's a relatively low boost setup on a low compression engine, to let's say 5lbs to 15lbs the regular called for piston gap is fine, your not gonna be creating that much more higher temperature while you go down the track/street. If it's gonna be a high boost setup, let's say like 30-40lbs, then what ever the factory ring gap spec is, add a 10th to 20th. You will smoke a little when cold starting In mornings but once warms up will subside and any higher boost, it's race spec, you should tap in sensors for each cylinder in the head gotta measure the temperature at peak acceleration, to determine how much gapping would be needed, and also would have to check the wear after a couple runs to see how much the rings are digging in. There is software that can calculate gaps for you based on ur specs.
@@Biggusdikusincontinentabuttoks how much are you boosting currently at the highest? Considering your running NA pistons, your compression is still as factory spec, so if your low boost under 15lbs to 20lbs, the stock gap should be fine. If it was turbo pistons, then compression would be increased. Usually factory NA pistons yield 10:1-7, with turbo pistons, and a decked block and head, block guard for sure, u could raise the compression easy 11:1 up to 11:7:1. But for a daily driven car that's not practical. Have to run higher octane fuel at all times, can't flex fuel and run lower octane and switch to higher at track. Ur NA pistons perfect with like 15 lbs, is ur motor have any internal upgraded?
@@JPSkriP yeah right now I'm only at 12 psi. Was planning on going 15 but that would be max for me. I'm currently in the process of building up the transmission with better gearing and lsd

Gotta build up the transmission before going higher horsepower if you want to be able to put that power down on the ground, otherwise start dumping money into broken parts. Lol. 12lbs is a nice low boost setup. On a K24, that should make it a nice peppy engine. Dyno tuned? What she putting down? Like 320ish?
