    I love Vallejo paints, great quality and my first choice for model paint.

    Tip for vallejo ... always prime beforehand with proper primer and varnish afterwards as it comes off easy from the mini compared to other paints; always varnish afterwards (I think Miniac found that also when he was doing paint brand comparisons). Apart from that excellent. Games Workshop paints get bad press sometimes but I think that they're excellent although their painting pots absolutely suck. For vallejo longevity, two metal balls in the bottle, ladies nail varnish bottle shaker or use your hands to shake with vigor. If paint is still lumpy, vallejo medium is your only salvation, adding it in small amounts and stirring with an elongated metal paperclip he showed you in the video.

      You are correct in your observations. Apart from the fact that they rarely stick they are excellent? You can forget masking over them with tape to do a camouflage job as the tape will pull them up. From my personal experience as well as many other modelers; Vallejo paints are some of the absolute worst paints you can buy. I use Tamiya almost exclusively. Just say "No", to Vallejo. They aren't worth the hassle.

      @@stephenbridges2791 Have been using Valejo colors with making tape since forever and have no issue. The only issue comes from metaic, but pretty much all acrylic metaic suck. I am using tamiya masking tapes though.

    • @davedogge2280
      @davedogge2280 Před 2 lety

      @@high9749 no white spirit should not be used with Vallejo paints or primer. Although for Airbrush the valllejo primers can be used and often it is recommended to be used with the Vallejo airbrush thinner and airbrush flow improver which do have a form of alcohol in them.

    If you put the paper clip in
    from the top you end up putting bits of the obstruction back into the paint.
    Take the top off and put the paper clip in from the inside, the same direction as the paint leaves the bottle.

    • @TheEnd
      @TheEnd Před rokem

      OLD Game Color as seen here used a glossier medium than Model Color. It was still considered satin but was much more glossy than Model Color which uses a matte medium. Not as matte as the NEW Game Color, which is so matte it no longer color matches between the old and new sets. Which btw will be a problem for this studio going forward if they run out of any of the old game colors. Anyways it’s not the same paint with a different label that’s a stupid and misleading answer so I had to chime in to correct him.

    People have been asking GW to switch the citadel line to dropper bottles for like decades at this point and they still haven't done it. Personally I think it's a sales tactic, if you don't use them regularly they WILL dry out and then you gotta buy it again, pretty scummy tactic imo... and that reason alone pushed me to Vallejo and army painter, also the value is better, you get more paint for less money and they come in drip bottles.
