The Poet's Voice: Asrar-ul-Haq Majaz - E'tiraaf (Nazm)

Asrar-ul-Haq Majaz (1911-1955) was one of the leading poets of the Progressive Writers Movement in Urdu. The romance and beauty of his poetry made him one of the most beloved Urdu poets of the 20th century. He has been called "the Keats of Urdu", both for the beauty of his poetry and his tragic death at a relatively young age. Recordings of his voice are extremely rare - here, he is reciting one of his most famous tragic poems - E'tiraaf (Confession) - addressed to a love that has returned too late.
