  • Makhdoom Mohiuddin (Full Name: Abu Saeed Mohammad Makhdoom Mohiuddin Qadri) (1908 - 1969) was a leading poet of the Progressive Writers Movement. He was born in Medak, Hyderabad and died in Delhi on August 25, 1969. White primarily a writer of free verse poems expressing Marxist ideology, he also wrote many memorable ghazal that are still widely known and sung - including this one, presented here in his own voice. His poetry collections include "Surkh Savera", "Gul-e Tar", and "Bisaat-e Raqs".
