I legit jumped out of my seat in the theater watching this scene. Made me truly appreciate Judy and what Shelton brings to the role. I love too how this new Scream really showed the impact and brutality of Ghostface's knife. Sure, it would have been nice to have a creative death on par with the garage scene in the first, but they did each kill well in terms of actually caring about the characters and feeling horrible to watch them die so brutally, which is the best thing a slasher movie can achieve. Gotta love the far away shot too; the juxtaposition of this quiet, sunny suburban day while a legacy character is being murdered horrifically out in the open

As a mother, I understand her running to her sons safety. But Since she’s also a cop, she should have known better to have approached her house with way more caution and had her gun on her. She maybe could have lived and saved them both. I know it’s a movie, and it was a good one 👍
Cops aren't very bright in the Scream universe, Dewey was always getting knocked out, the 2 cops in scream 4 were taken out because they were dicking around etc. I think they're just continuing that trope.

The irony behind “ever seen the movie psycho” line and cut to the shower, gives me chills every time. This scene shocked me and put a pit in my stomach. Broad daylight and the sheriff?!?!? My heart was racing.

One of my favourite scenes in the movie, Marley absolutely KILLED IT with her acting 🔥🔥🔥 Just wish she had more scenes, especially another one with Wes because I feel like any questions I had about her character after Scream 4 made complete sense after this one. Also wish they’d have left the scene of her and Dewey at the Sheriff’s station in the final cut of the movie - it really added another layer to their relationship and to how much she looked up to him!
Marley Shelton's performance was absolutely phenomenal! I still hate that she didn't have any scene with the trio especially Dewey and Gale. She had one with Dewey but they just had to delete it.

This is one of the few daytime scenes where the glittery texture of Ghostface's suit is visible. It gives it a very cool and surreal touch.

The way in which the killer uses to kill his victims and the way his speed and escape was more than wonderful, and he was very clever and also frightening .. I mean, no one expected in the end that they are just Richie and Amber and do not want personal problems and they were killed easily at the end of the movie

1:42, Marley Shelton did amazing acting in this scene. A great part about Scream 5 that Scream 3/4 didn’t do was taking the deaths seriously. Instead of someone joking about Bruce Willis they have a mother begging for her sons life. It makes it feel less Scary Movie. Can’t wait for Scream 6.
I have a theory: since Judy and Wes' deaths occurred during the day (especially her), other relatives of the Hicks family could be introduced in the hypothetical sixth film. Maybe a brother (also with Judy's kids) or even better a secret sort of Wes. The same thing happened with Randy, if you think about it.

I’mean the killers have been doing that in all 5 movies bruh…and most of the people that were told by the killer that they were going to be killed, the killer (he/she) actually killed them so…… it’s kind of the point of their plan, which was explained since the first movie. Killer ask them questions, get right or wrong, you die either way whether he or she tells you how and when.

I think sometimes people don't understand how talented Roger Jackson is and how much work he has to put in. He is definitely the most versatile actor in all of these movies considering the fact that he has to think like and become the character who is using his voice every time, during every phone call, in all 6 of these movies (at the time of this comment). Just look at this video, for example. He has to make his character sound like and pretend to be an immature, teenaged girl in high school, being disrespectful to an adult authority figure. And he nails the job convincingly, to the point of it being perfect!

Judy's taste in movies works as she's seen enough horrors on the police force not to mention Jill and Charlie's Ghostface murder spree so she doesn't feel the need to watch more on screen. After all, some hate horror movies period due to traumatic childhoods. This is one of those kills most think should have went differently but it went perfectly.
Tatum was half wasted when Billy came to kill her and in that situation, you'd usually go into survival mode, and even if, most people will not kill or do it so easily if they have a chance. The only hitch is no garage door can lift a human sans small children.
Randy was out in the open in broad daylight in a public place with very few hiding spots. He thought he was safe and he was on a mission trying to track Ghostface.
Sarah was in a large and empty studio building which presented ample hiding places and the police would have needed time to get there and find the exact building. Security had a better shot at getting to her faster.
Rebecca's situation was similar. A dark and deserted parking garage with ample hiding places and Ghostface could always break the window open and kill her if it came to it.
As for this kill, she is the sheriff and normally is on guard hence why a straightforward murder would not be successful. That meant Ghostface had to get her in a panicked mindset to kill her and that meant even if she had a weapon in the car, Judy may have forgotten about it in the panicked rush. After all, being on guard at all times will eat at you and destroy you.
As for daylight, you have murders that happened and will happen during daytime as there are very isolated and empty neighborhoods during the day and even with the law enforcement on the way, it was going to take time for them to get there and Ghostface was adapting by being quick.
Glad you understood this scene. Ppl act like you can't get killed in broad daylight when it happens everyday. It's always reports on the news. Also, you hit it on the nose why Judy didn't have her gun. He toyed with her emotions threatening her own flesh and blood. Her motherly instincts kicked in and she lost all rational. Throwing her off her game and allowing Ghostface to take their kill.
@@lexdadominator2.096 Indeed so. My neighborhood isn't good enough but I've seen some areas that's empty enough for a daylight murder to happen without anyone getting caught like this. Plus she was only getting food. You don't need weapons for that and place it in the wrong place gives the Ghostface ammunition. Paranoia is a killer and some won't last in the Scream universe due to it.

When Scream 4 hit theaters she was supposed be new female version of Dewey she was going live all way up to scream 6.
Because of her death, Gale came back to woodsboro. So yes her character was a good one and I wanted her to live even after all of that because she survived one movie, but we needed this kind of impact so the original trio would know this is not just new people dying because of ghostface.

The first Ghostface kill we ever saw in daylight is actually Scream 2. In 1997 Randy is pulled into a newsvan in broad daylight and stabbed 4 times before having his throat slit. Nobody does a thing. In fact, some college kids dance as the van bounces.

The scream movie 1996 is my favorite movie of The scream series. It's so innovative it's so different and first time I could think of two killers working together. It's not just one killer it's two of them and they really fool you until the end.
Scream 5 is my favorite movie of scream but it's sad about Judy wes and dewey

What I don't get is why anyone would stay in that town after Scream 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Well, the second and third films didn’t take place in Woodsboro. The second movie took place in college while the third took place in Hollywood. So before the fourth film, no one would think murders would happen in town again.
I guess these copy cat killers could carry out these killing sprees 👀 anywhere 👀
