    Fishing is more than simply catching fish. I would like to believe that even if you don’t catch fish the video will still be good to watch. Seeing new waters and areas are awesome to see along with a short brief description about the stream helps teach those who watch.

    For me, just being in the high country on a stream fishing for trout was always a great day. If the fish were biting enough to be fun, then it was an even better day. Either way, it was impossible to be "skunked." You are living the life, Tristan.

    There's so much more to fish'n then just catch'n. Yeah, i know some folks wanna see catches, big catches yet i suspect that many of your viewers appreciate scenery and the challenges each water presents and how you fish it.
    Not catching has lessons too...
    Insane scenery, Again!
    Thanks for reminding me I need to replace waders, boots, socks, fly rod and a Tenkara I only fished once. They got sucked outta my cargo box . I learned that 65 mph headwind and 45 mph cross winds can open a cargo box. Who knew....

But if you put up a couple skunks or like the spot you did earlier when your not happy with the quality. Definitely not trying to tell you how your channel should be but maybe one of those asmr or one with no speaking once in a while. You channel and I enjoy the content no matter what. This looks like the creek outside of Taos, NM. Where the canyon the creek runs through was not carved by the creek but is actually where the tectonic plates are separating causing a canyon and the creek flowed down into it because it was the lowest elevation it could flow into. Cool

    Regarding you contemplation of fishing the known vs the unknown, as others have mentioned and i would reinforce, is that part of the enjoyment of watching your adventures is just that. The adventure. Seeing the places you get to and vicariously being there too is part of the draw. Just like with SUVRVing.

    I was reluctant a few weeks ago to post a video of me striking out on a beautiful river system i never fished before. Talked to a few people and decided to release it anyways. I was very surprised at the feedback I got both in private chats and in person from people that watched it. They said it was refreshing to see a "somewhat normal day of fishing". And a few people were actually in disbelief i didn't catch anything in the river i was fishing and thought I edited it all out for another video later on lol.

    Interesting stream with lots of variation, thank you for sharing this with us. Do have one question: at a spot tight with rocks you talked about how it would be better to use a shorter rod. The Dragontail Mizuchi is a zoom rod and you could’ve zoomed down from the 11 foot. Why wasn’t that an option?

    • @bobcatethan8919
      @bobcatethan8919 Před rokem

Clearly you don't have the benefit of the same degree of tactile feedback with those methods as you're not in direct communication with the line.
