      Built mine from all Ikea, even the sink. There's these bed rails called skorva rails that all Ikea beds use, they are steel and screw into the van ribs, lots of videos of them installed but it's easy...put Ikea slats across it and u got any bed any size u want, they also expand to fit any width van and there's no braces to the ground so ur bed floats so u can make as little or as much storage under the bed as u need.

      It’s the one type of camper we have kept the longest. Just bought a 20 ft camping trailer it can pull though for a little more room. Trying to make a video on that unit.

    Thanks for sharing. I just purchased a 2008 Ford econoline (that came with a wheelchair lift) to convert. It has a hightop but my head still touches top while standing in it & I only standing at 5'1. Im hoping to be able to find some more room underneath the inside of hightop.

      Yes, we took that inside headliner down, rerouted a/c ducts to one duct on driver side to just below the window and then insulated the roof. To get Fantastic fan in we had someone change the metal support. I guess just start by removing that headliner.

    beautiful video wished mine came with that high roof but mine is the regular one I hope I win the bid it's at $1,500 plus fees and registration 2012 with 99k miles e350 passenger van. How is the van holding up and if you can make a video of maintenance from when you got it to now would be another good video. Thanks for showing us your Van

      Under my husband’s name Daniel Slagoski you can look for INTRO TO E350 to see more on the inside and he plans to do another video on any maintenance done since we purchased this van in 2017.

      We made a new video showing the inside of the van as it looks today and that can be found under Daniel Slagoski called “2008 Ford E350 Camper Van”. We did not make a maintenance video, but I can list the major updates. New front brakes, tires and a serpentine belt year we bought it used in 2017. The next year, 2018 we did new rear brakes, a new radio and helper springs. In 2019 we had a new parking brake. Then the ball joints/front shocks were done in Oct. 2020 and this January we had the rear quarter panels replaced.

    Nice job. I was curious about your roof rack?

    • @andreaslagoski-keeptraveli907
      @andreaslagoski-keeptraveli907  Před 3 lety +1

      My husband made it with 2 x 2’s and 1 x 4’s and galvanized L-brackets. It only works because the ledge above the door had a channel that fit a 1 x 4 perfectly to secure the wood frame with wood screws. Then the rest of the frame is attached with special brackets (tongue and groove type) attached to the side drip rails.

    Curious how the rubber body mounts are. I replaced mine in my 2010 e 250 before doing the interior. You have to lift the body off the frame and of course your floor and everything attached or above it has to come out.. Just a FYI for those taking on any Van conversion where the body and frame are separate.. E series vans have 10 to 14 mounts depending on if it's extended. The mounts are expensive and the labor has to be more expensive. I did mine and got great prices from Parts Geek. They have the best prices, but don't be in a hurry. The majority of the mounts are the same. Four are different. The two in the #1 position (front) and the two in the #5 position are special. The # 5 position (near the rear axle) were shot on mine.

      We ended up keeping the van, we love it so much. The motor is known to be strong and it’s been a very good vehicle. We do regular maintenance, have replaced the rear axle seals, brakes, rotors, tires, put on helper springs. We’ve had it since early 2017. Doing the inside was a little difficult because of the curves in walls/high top areas, but it all worked out. Just replaced the Fantastik fan with a MaxAir fan, now upgrading the solar panels too. It now has 172,000 miles on it. It came from an assisted living place had it and did regular maintenance, so how the people before you took care of it is good to know.
