As a female survivor of abuse, well done Johnny Depp. The “this will hurt women” narrative is stupid. This will help ALL survivors get listened to. Unless u are someone who makes false accusations against people ans tries to get away with it, u have nothing to fear by amber loosing.
From an ethical point of view, you are right. But that's not the conceptual framework that narrative is couched in. It's not about justice towards individuals, nor compassion, it's about the balance of power between genders. And from that pov, this will hurt women. Power is a zero-sum game, it's purely adversarial. If a man wins, women lose
no, this will hurt women, but in a way that now some men will use this case as justification that women lie and ur normal non billionaire women won't be able to win their own cases. Even now ppl started supporting Shia LaBeouf even tho he himself admitted to abusing his partner. this case only set us back. No one believes women like y'all think they do. Ppl supporting a famous actress doesn't equal ppl believing every woman.
As a man who's survived abuse, I see where you're coming from, but I feel like I've already seen this become weaponized by men to make it look like ALL women are abusers, and several people IN THIS COMMENT SECTION have implied very heavily that women are more abusive than men, or making other harmful implications to ALL survivors of abuse. It's upsetting, and yes it is harmful. Unfortunately a lot of people, especially the more incel type, will use this to prove that all women are evil, which is just an awful stigmatization in the first place, and it hurts everyone equally. No, Johnny didn't deserve to go through what he did, but the weaponization of this is absolutely disgusting.
@@marcodallolio9746 That word salad made absolutely no sense. It sounded like a bad attempt at sounding like you know political philosophy. So far any of you naysayers have failed to demonstrate how it'll affect women.
The nerve of Amber to claim "Johnny won because he's powerful and popular" after 6 years of him being condemned by her lies and struggling for any support until this trial started bringing the truth to light. She must truly believe her own lies at this point.
I think most people understand suing for defamation is a last resort when someone is lying about you. If he was that powerful he wouldn't of needed to do that. And he wouldn't have won if he couldn't prove her allegations damaged his career
this isn't men vs women. this is truth vs lies. victims vs abusers. it's pathetic how she was and still is playing the gender game. ironic really when pretty much everyone, that including women, is on Johnny's size
You know what's bad for women? A woman making a fake claim. It does make it harder for women to come forward with claims. But it's Amber's fault, hers alone. He is the victim of domestic violence. And he deserves justice
I don't think it is. I think it shows that we need to wait before jumping to conclusions. Innocent until proven guilty, whether it's a man or a woman. I think this is a good moment for male victims and a bad moment for toxic masculinity because now that a manly movie star has shown publicly that he can be abused by a woman, hopefully people will change their perceptions about men. They can cry, they can be abused, they can be sexually assaulted and no, they don't have to man up and take it and hide their emotions and their pain.
I completely agree with you on it makes things harder for women. I have friends who are victims of DV and seeing this whole case was just terrifying for them. Because of her, survivors who come forward must now bare the implications attached to the verdict that women who come forward against powerful men may not only not be believed, but actively punished. Now, survivors will be much more reluctant to come forth about their instances of abuse out of fear of being humiliated and receiving intense backlash. Some, not all, but some men will really take any opportunity to shame a woman and call her a liar. It’s truly horrible.
while the evidence she provided was not great, a lot of the time you can find the most evidence against someone when they are at their worst point in their life because that’s when they’ll usually be making the worst/best decisions
And she wanted to divorce him few days after his mom just passed away and by the way, the video of him ranted out in the kitchen happened after his mom passed away. She was even smiling and laughing on that video! The TMZ's ex employee who shut down Elaine for her "15 minutes of fame comment" confirmed that the video had edited out and it was Amber herself who did that.
The fact that Amber Heard is still trying to spin this as a loss for women is insane, she lied and manipulated Johnny and tried to do the same to do the jury. I'm glad that Johnny could win this
Charlie is out of touch and does not know much about Johnny depp. He was borrowing money from banks. Of course he cared about money. Stop supporting a ab user like JD !!!!
Plus the fact that the only 'evidence' that wasnt faked or beyond out of context they even had was that text, and its not even _to her._ You'd think thered be one single text, video or recording of him saying those types of things to her if he was that type of person, not...quoting a movie he was in to a friend after he had his life imploded by his abuser
As a male victim of abuse from a woman. This case was inspiring. i wish I could sue my narcissistic ex for destroying my own reputation. There is still hope for us men. Don’t suffer in silence.
Seen a lot of this and how women can just use feminism and woke to control shit. Watched a highschool bud of mine got accused of rape and his whole future fell apart! Bitch also split my class in half in who was on which side. It wasn't until years later that it was proven that he was innocent and she made shit up. Wish it was made public cause I wanna see that bitch torn to pieces by my class. Fuck feminism.
The Terry Crews case always upset me so much. It doesn't matter how tall, muscular, or masculine you look anyone can be abused, sexually, physically and/or mentally. Humans deserve human rights.
Exactly. Abuse of power seems to be a common factor. Heard thought she could use the power of her gender and the way she expected the media to portray her. Crews was in a situation where someone with power in the industry knew he could take advantage. It is disgusting.
@@wealthybone2990 Yup he admitted to being abused in one of his relationships, alot of people respected his decision to step forward especially as a man. I don't belive it went beyond that but the comment above me said there was a case which is unfortunate if he lost due to his gender and appearance.
My personal favorite moments: 1. The movie expert who didn’t know Robert Patterson was Batman 2. A celebrity expert saying that Amber is one of the most disliked actors, and he had data to back it up. 3. The sass from the TMZ guy 4. That Johnny’s love of lamas was brought up by Amber’s team. 5. The lady lawyer on Johnny’s side giving Amber serious sass when she was on the stand.
I would also like to add the psychologist woman who was with JD. The fact they tried to manipulate a fuckin psychologist and didn't see how that would backfire is beyond me. Like she is literally an expert in that field.
@@TheKatera4a All the expert that amber lawyer who supposedly have 30+ years of experience bring to the court is downright laughable. Bringing those clown against pretty well known heavy hitter lawyer, is suicide.
Johnny was definitely doing drugs, but he openly admitted to that fact. That really helped his case imo, he was honest and admitted his flaws. The fact that Amber tried to make herself innocent and lied about so much RUINED her. There might have been a lot of friction between them, she was an instigator and tried to continue fights when he tried to walk away from those fights. It's great that Amber lost the case, it's actually a step up for male victims of DV, because more often that if a woman even MENTIONS DV then the man gets put in cuffs. There's several cases where men's lives were destroyed because of false claims of DV or SA. I
Some psychologist actually made a video regarding Amber's behavior in court, and mentioned that based on her strange body language, lack of consistency between her upper half facial expression and lower half facial expression, her apparent need to explain things that didnt matter, etc., all were features that commonly appear in people who abuse drugs. I think anyone can ignore that Johnny was on drugs at some point in light of Amber potentially being on drugs through the trial.
@@orangejuice4266Depp winning this case is not the thing that could set back real female survivors…Heards false claims are Her false claims could have a negative effect for female survivors as it unfortunately gives abuse disbelievers an example to point to where a woman fabricated DV claims for personal gain and to ruin a man’s reputation However, anyone pointing to this one example as ‘proof’ that every female survivor is lying is just an idiot anyway so… A victim should be supported and deserves their fair justice regardless of gender
Amber Heard Still trying to play the victim and make it all about gender after Johnny Depp fought so hard to win is absolutely disgusting. We love you Johnny!
Let’s be honest. The UK courts found Depp abused her, a US jury has found this article to be defamatory. It’s 1-1 for now, let’s see what happens on appeal.
As a woman, seeing Amber play the gender card like that infuriates me and is such an insult to actual female victims of abuse. Anyone can be abused, stalked, and harassed, and I hope this helps inspire more male victims to speak up. Abusers come in all shapes and forms and they all need to be called out and stopped.
That's one thing I actually have the fear of. That there's actually so many more male victims out there but they have just never spoken up or tried to. So people still piggyback on the fact that the male victims are statistically low
Which is a win in the first place imo. Abusers don't deserve fame or anything out of ruining others lives by pretending they were the victim the whole time.
The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband. I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously. I believe Johnny's attorneys succeeded in getting the jury to overlook the key issue of Freedom of Speech and ignore evidence that was so conclusive that we won in the UK. I'm sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American - to speak freely and openly.
the thing i hate the most about this trial being over is there’s still those people saying “well yeah he won but we don’t know what’s going on when they’re alone i’m sure both got abused by the other”
As a victim of physical and emotional abuse by a female partner I am deeply glad that an innocent man who was wounded and brought low by malice was able to find some relief. I hope he finds happiness in the wake of this abuse.
“Go tell the world that I, Johnny Depp, a man, am a victim of domestic abuse, and see how many people actually believe you.” Well, I guess we and the jury have ultimately proved you wrong, Amber.
Johnny's win is actually a huge victory for ALL victims of domestic abuse, ESPECIALLY men, who often tend to be unfairly positioned by the pro-feminist media in the "bad side of the story". With the influence this man has on people already, he may have just given us a glimpse of hope to slowly begin to eradicate all those monsters that take advantage of their partners in order to use and humiliate them, causing them chronic psychological and mental problems. Thankfully, Mr. Depp may now enjoy his life peacefully, he got his *stolen* dignity back and that's what matters.
That’s the thing with domestic abuse, sure women are the more likely victim but that doesn’t mean men can’t be to. My grand-parents knew someone who was in a similar situation and in the end he divorced her.
Amber's lack of empathy for anyone outside of herself and lack of self-awareness just screams "personality disorder". Reminds me of my ex, literally lying to herself and people around us about events that didn't even happen just so she can collect sympathy at the expense of me and my reputation. She even admitted to me she knows she's a compulsive liar and told me "so what".
That's pretty pretty messed up 😬 actually, your ex sounds like she needs help. But that might be part of the plan...which also sounds like she needs help if she actually went along with it
My ex with schizophrenia and BPD (she believes she's a fallen angel in contact with Lucifer) claimed contact with me that never happened after we broke up and claimed that a female friend of mine not only cheated with me, but also raped her. I found out about most of this secondhand long after.
As much as they frustrate me, I think they lawyers had a difficult client (who was clearly LYING) and tried to do their best. I found the female lawyer Elaine B. to be frustrating and I didnt think she did a great job.. I am just a layman though not a lawyer. It also annoyed me that she implied the trial was unfair in interviews after. I think there were a lot of fumbles by the defense and when you combine that with a WHOLLY unlikeable, cringey client it's really an uphill battle.
Elaine had my sympathy before she started accusing the jury of not understanding the evidence/claimed the entire thing was bias and not admitting any faults in her frankly awful case. Elaine is living up to the tmz reporters accusation of wanting her fifteen minutes of fame at this point.
I'm very relieved to see that he won, this case really speaks for how male abuse victims are treated and I think this might help overall. Johnny deserved this

I felt so bad for Terry Crews when he tried to talk about his own abuse story. he's such a gem and a meme-legend. especially during the old spice commercial times... I hope he's in a better place now than he was. Dude deserves it in my opinion just for all the laughs he gave me over the years.
The only argument I can see for "this is bad for women" is that people who want to cast disbelief and discredit on a woman's abuse claims will point to this case and say "see? Amber Heard lied, so it's not uncommon, you are too, etc"
My thoughts exactly. This isn’t an attack on Johnny Depp or men speaking up about their abuse, it’s about Amber Heard discrediting women. She’s the one at fault for this, we’re mad at HER not anyone else,
I think if someone looks at this case and says “see? You can’t believe women,” they’re most likely already misogynistic and are just looking for any excuse. But I think most rational people understand that this type of thinking is counterintuitive and just stupid.
@@norwegianflag4365 It's perfectly fine to discredit a claim if, and this is important, *THAT CLAIM HAS NO EVIDENCE BACKING IT UP* The fact we got to a point where a claim is believed SIMPLY BECAUSE IT CAME FROM A WOMAN without any sort of evidence at all is stupidly disturbing.
7:22 I just looked up that part about Dr. Phil because I wanted to see how bad it was. Jesus, that was hard to sit through. From what was shown in the clip, it seems the woman repeatedly attacked and hurt the man, and when he inevitably snapped and took a swing at her, he was publicly humiliated by Dr. Phil and was told that he's a "chicken shit coward" among other things. It was genuinely painful and sad to watch, I hope he's doing better now.

I completely agree with everything you said . For many years, I was very angry bc idk where she’s at I just know she’s out there, living her best life. Unbothered by the fact she hurt my dad and me. Having Johnny win this case brought me some peace. It shows males can also be victims of abuse and it is a very real thing.
That’s why I was SOOOOOO into this trial. I was in a very toxic relationship, and towards the end she started to psychologically abuse me pretty bad. Luckily I broke it off before it was able to get too bad. I’m still fucked up by it after all this time. So this trial, I related to it. My heart was RACING leading up to the verdict reading today
@@game-enjoyer13 Glad you got out in time man. My friends dragged me out too thankfully, and I gotta say, as awful as it is in hindsight it was difficult to end things.
the best part of the evidence being open to the public is people could form their own opinion, the media couldn't spin it in Heard's favor despite their best efforts, this is a big step for male victims of abuse when Johnny managed to clear his name
Agreed! Like many have said, no matter how much the media attempts to spin the trial as a "big disadvantage for women" and what other ridiculous headlines they have in store, the truth is visibly there for the people to see, and they cannot make anyone (besides radfems and Heard supporters) believe otherwise.

In a way we should thank Amber. She has proven that it’s not always men who abuse their partners. Hopefully that belief will now progress towards being destigmatized.
I doubt it but I highly agree. It's the same for so many different topics. Rape as an example. If a woman accuses a man that he raped her, many people will believe her. If a man accuses a woman that she raped him, nobody will believe him and they'll even laugh at him. If a woman slaps a man nobody gives a shit. If a man slaps a woman everybody loses their mind.
I was on Twitter for a bit years ago then went back to check how brainless the population was when elon bought it but there was still no sign of intelligent life on the platform
I've been seeing a lot of women who are survivors of abuse siding with Johnny, and a common thing I would see from them is "the way Amber Heard acts/talks to Johnny/etc reminds me of how my abuser treated me"
lol i’ve seen the same thing said about the way johnny acts. how it reminds them of their abuser. he’s laughing, being condescending, and is on the verge of falling asleep, but amber is the one acting strange? might we all remind you, amber has BPD which is the exact opposite of narcissism. so if your take away from all of this is that amber is a narcissist, that should really tell you where you entire perspective of this trial lies. you guys are such deluded sheep. cant think for yourselves at all.
I was one of those people on the fence for a while, because every time I did try to discuss it with people, no one would present me with any of the actual facts from the trial. They would just say they don’t trust Amber, and since no one ever presented evidence I assumed there wasn’t anything clear on either side. Once I actually saw the trial though, it was absolutely clear that Johnny was not an abuser by any means. His win is a step forward for all survivors of abuse.
It doesn’t hurt women. It just shows that the legal system in this case worked as it should, that lying isn’t going to work like it has before in the past. Women don’t and shouldn’t just get a free pass . Equal is equal Unless you lie about abuse, this event shouldn’t effect or frighten you.
I’m glad you brought up how bad the whole “they were both abusers, just as awful as each other” take is. I feel like that sort of thinking is still rooted in the idea that men cannot just be victims and that they obviously must have done something horrible too in order to invite abuse onto themselves. Like people can’t fathom how a man could possibly be abused without doing something to provoke or encourage it.
funny thing is that they literally can not both be abusers, atleast not towards each other. the whole thing about abuse is an inbalance of power and control in a relationship. if one is an abuser that is the one who has more power and control in the relationship therefor making the other one not able to be an abuser since they can not both have more control than the other in the relationship
in many of these "they were both abuser" takes , it almost always ends with "but amber is just a human at the end of the day" as they fail to bring up any evidence on johnny being an abuser. So it's just from people refusing to believe / admit that men can indeed be victims
Between this and Jack Wright coming forward about what Sienna Mae did to him it's so amazing to see the support for male abuse victims, this is hopefully going to be a big turning point on taking the topic seriously and making sure we don't let abusers of any gender get away with it. Congrats Johnny and I hope he's happy in the UK with his mega pint of justice!
Even with all this coverage, people will still believe the woman. They are lucky they’re famous or they would be locked up and life ruined. It’s a sad JS we have here
@Syrasmine ye nah how you gonna compare the male to female false accusations like its even close in number especially then when its ones who get their loves ruined because of it it is a gender issue because men have to deal with it and the odd few of women do aswell sure that doesnt stop it from being a gender issue tho
@Syrasmine Not a hot take. It is definitely a gender issue, and women are not as frequently falsely accused of sex crimes (I have no stats for this but it's essentially a given).
The fact that there are people agreeing with Amber’s statement is wild, the jury’s decision didn’t set women back, Amber lying and claiming to be an abuse victim is what would set women back. Johnny isn’t a saint, but the amount of hole in her story and lies she was caught in make her too hard to believe
@Mirsty I believe that trial dismissed a lot of Johnny’s evidence and the Judge had concrete connections to Amber and his son worked for the paper Johnny was suing…
A friend of my dad spend 15 years in prison because he got accused of rape. Eventually the woman came forward after 15 years saying she lied because she didn't want her parents to know she had consented to sex before marriage. I'm really glad they didn't just believe Heard on her word here.
She sounds like a right scumbag. Glad she eventually owned up to it but she should be punished appropriately for ruining someone’s life and having them locked away for that long just to protect her parents’ image of her. She should probably have a little leeway for being honest in the end, but 15 years is still an awfully long time to self reflect.
The most messed up thing about people writing articles saying that this case is a "step-back" when it comes to domestic abuse against women, is that it suggests that we are automatically supposed to believe any women who accuse men of domestic abuse... Even when A COURT OF LAW determines that it wasn't true. The fact that people automatically believe a woman when they falsely accuse a man of rape or domestic violence is messed up. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?
I was falsely accused of rape when I was 14 and the accuser was 17. It ruined my life and I’m still traumatised. people that falsely accuse deserve to rot in prison.
This case was like a comedy because of how stupid it was. Amber was not believable at all and the lawyers were even worse and honestly hilarious. Congrats to Johnny for winning this case. I hope this case opens the door for more men to be comfortable to speak out if they were victims of abuse.
Johnny Depp's stance from the beginning was awesome. "I'm a terrible, crazy, toxic person. My life is a mess, and I'm all over the map. But I'm not a wife beater."
As someone who came from an abusive household (my dad was a violent alchoholic), I genuinely hate how the media is portraying this verdict, saying shit like "oh yeah it's really bad for women who get abused" "some women are retracting their statements for fear of a future defamation case" "we've gone so many steps back for dealing with domestic violence" "this has had a massive impact on the me too movement" and shit like that. As if Jhonny Depp being abused wasn't even real. I genuinely despise how Amber has been made out to be this fucking brave hero, fighting for abused women everywhere, like this was a huge blow to victims of domestic abuse. As a victim myself; I don't fucking claim her. It makes me so fucking angry that people don't believe men are also victims of domestic abuse, shame on everyone who is ignorant enough to support Amber Heard and her stupid fucking joke of a legal team. I'm glad that this case will now give some men the confidence to speak up about their experiences, we need to support everyone who has gone through this kind of violence in future.

Media favoritism surely is the most unfortunate thing to plague our society. The amount of things that get swept under the rug in favor of an abuser, especially in the case of one who is successful/wealthy and the abusees who are less fortunate, before the details get to the public is abominable. It reminds me of that one lawyer who had blackmailed and raped well over 100 women who had to use his services. He just liked to keep getting these impoverished women's cases and just fucking torturing them for his own sexual gain. And what did some media outlets say? That the women exchanged sexual favors with him in return for legal services. One of the videos related to it is titled "jury views graphic sex video in ex-SA lawyer's trial; juror faints". They claim it was just rough sex and they immediately followed it up by saying she was an addict and a prostitute. The comments hold plenty of detail about how KSAT 12 completely misrepresented the situation. In general, the media is a fucking cancer that will do whatever they can to appeal to their widest audience, even if it's nothing but lies. I'm glad that this case was public, because the media would have fucking trashed Johnny and we would have been none the wiser outside of rumors after the fact.
Media tries to _tell_ you how you _ought_ to feel. It used to be what do you think? Without hammering the same clip that makes you angry or uncomfortable over and over and over, forcing you to stew and remind you of the constant rage or discomfort.
Honestly part of the reason Amber’s lawyers were embarrassed so thoroughly is most likely because Amber was so stubborn on her defense. If they had gone for a route of minimizing the slander lawsuit amount, it would have been a much more respectable defense. However, Amber most likely insisted on portraying herself as absolutely innocent, hence the debacle.
Yeah, probably. I mean, I've read somewhere that her lawyer is very good, has multiple awards and a plethora of successful cases. You could see her tired and exhausted at the end, and I think it was because she was scrambling all throughout the whole deal to manage and find something to latch on, with Heard not only not giving her anything, but actively throwing her in front of the train and behaving as if it's the lawyer's fault
i kinda feel bad for her lawyer. They might just be one of the best in the game, but they're working with virtually nothing against johnny depp. Now, they're labeled as clowns,
As a male survivor of domestic abuse and SA this case hit a little too close to home for me and I'm very happy that Depp came out on top. To even take the abuser to court is a feat in itself and something I wish I had the strength to do.
kinda crazy this happened a year ago. i’m glad johnny won and proved how much of it was made up by amber. it really sucks how many men’s lives are ruined by people saying they were assaulted. and of course a man could never be on the side that is getting assaulted or abused
I hate how people are like “meh meh meh this is setting women back.” When a lot of women who ACTUALLY ARE SURVIVORS SUPPORT JOHNNY. This isn’t setting women back, it’s holding us up to the exact standards of men, if you do bad things you get punished. That’s equality. Also i don’t think Turd even knows what the first amendment is lmao. But she used it!
so many weirdos defending her on twitter, it's wild. They think every DV case from now on will result in a defamation court where the abuser automatically wins 🤣
Man here in Belgium the Simp newsbroadcaster was salty bc he found that the jury just picked Depps side bc of the public opinion. I thought did this mf even watch the trial. People that think that women or no matter what group cant do anything wrong really scare me.
Some people have no perspective. As a dude whose been hit with some false accusations of abuse, I can tell you a triumph for the truth is a triumph for humanity.
The most vocal people out there declaring this a big victory are, themselves, victims of domestic abuse. They immediately recognized the brand of manipulative, gaslighting abuse Johnny went through and demanded justice. Even self-identifying feminists are speaking up, rightfully calling out the bullshit third-wave feminists have spewed for years and endorsed (thereby, enabling abusers like Heard to thrive and hide behind social justice movements). I'm no longer a feminist myself (egalitarianism is my jam), but I'm relieved these feminists are finally addressing issues with the MeToo Believe-All-Women narrative. So no, none of this 'sets back women' since the people celebrating today are those actively fighting for TRUE equality and justice. Depp's win only sets back the LYING, manipulative people out there who want to continue gaming the system.
I remember my male coworker talking to me about this case and telling me about his girlfriend was vary similar to Amber and he didn't think of it as "abuse" just her being a "bitch lol" and the when case became mainstream he had to confront the fact that he was abused like Johnny Depp and it was difficult for him but he had to do it.
One of the therapists in the trial that acted as a witness for Amber, literally framed abuse as men abusing women... That should tell you all you need to know.
to be "fair" that's how the *FBI themselves* define domestic abuse, the Duluth Model. just objectively sexist nonsense tripe, but has been the founding document for law enforcement dealing with domestic situations for decades. Under the duluth model there literally isn't a case where a man can be abused by a woman, that's not a thing that the model handles or allows for.
@@jebbush6657 This is 100% false. The Duluth model has absolutely nothing to do with the definition if "domestic abuse", and the FBI would rather use "family violence".
to be fair, a LOT of people are gonna use Amber Heard to accuse rape/abuse victims of faking it so i can see why they think that. specially in argentina lmao
For real. Men can be abused and need to be able to speak up as well. If there's any loss for women it's because of Amber's lies and taking advantage of a movement meant to bring abuse to light, not because of her losing. Her lies are a huge slap in the face to women survivors and because of her it could make it more difficult for them to speak up without fear or scrutiny. But at the end of the day I personally see this as a victory for MeToo: a victim of abuse was able to stand up against their abuser and prove to the world how awful they are. That's what the main takeaway from this should be
Because many bad people use MeToo as a weapon and a shield. The verdict is only bad for bad people, for people who would lie about this sort of thing. It is good for everyone else, for all victims, and for all those who support victims.
It shouldn't be a loss for MeToo but a gain. It should break the gender bias when it comes to men survivors of dv. We should celebrate that but people say it's a loss because Amber Heard declared herself the figure head of the movement. I don't know any of you but I don't think someone admitting psychical violence should be the head of MeToo. On top of that from a PR perspective the self declared figure head of MeToo turning out to be a liar and an abuser does create a ground for reactionary people to call every women coming forward with such claims a liar from the get go. I just hope these group of people will be a minority and won't be taken seriously and we will hear out the victims, regardless of gender, coming forward. Not believing everything they say but hearing out.
Women and Men win with this in all reality. This shows that we all have our chances to succeed in court, and that people have a chance to get their justice no matter what. I'm so happy that men can get their justice, too. I can only hope that people of all origins stand up for themselves and to never let false allegations of any kind snuff out your hope.

@@CThyran inflammable has etymological coherence. "Inflame" is a word with the "in" with the sense of a metaphorical movement into flames, so "Inflammable" is something that is prone to getting inflamed, or moving into flames. It's unfortunate but perfectly valid that "in" is also used to negate a word fairly often. "irregardless" is not a case of that, its only in dictionaries because that particular linguistic mistake made it into the populace and therefore was used often enough to replace it's more logical and understandable "regardless". Etymonline has this to say about the etymology of "irregardless": > probably a blend of irrespective and regardless It's just a mistake. Don't defend it.
Love how Amber immediately made this about gender after losing. This really isn't a gender issue at all, she made it one. The irony of playing the WHAMEN card after being a massive hypocrite female abuser.
the true irony is that its probably the fact that she kept playing the "im the goddess of all female victims" card that made her lose the case. If she (or her lawyers) had stuck explicitly to the freedom of speech issue and the fact that libel is almost IMPOSSIBLE to prove in america, they would probably have won. But they made it about stuff that's way more subjective, who abused who and "amber represents all women"
I think the best takeaway from this is: Amber Turd isn't a posterchild for anyone except entitled, manipulative abusers. Women who've been abused: come forward. Men who've been abused: come forward. Anyone who believes Heard or relates to her: stfu, do us all a favor and hop right out of the gene pool.
I think this is great for women. Amber Heard is being treated like an adult who is responsible for her actions instead of being infantilized and coddled. I think this is a big step towards equality.
When there are actual reprecussions for people who lie about this stuff, it makes it easier to believe people when they come forward...When women are given the 'believe all women' treatment with no risk of backlash, it's easy to think they might be making something up...When the truth gets out, it's great for men and women who are good people, and it's bad for men and women who are bad people. Truth is good, no matter which gender it supports.
Absolutely. Women are just as human as men. They can be capable of shitty things too. Gender shouldn’t be a defining factor in whether or not something happened or someone gets jailed or not. What matters are the facts and those should be the only defining factors in a court of law

I'm even more disappointed with what this

Equal is equal
Unless you lie about abuse, this event shouldn’t effect or frighten you.
I’m glad you brought up how bad the whole “they were both abusers, just as awful as each other” take is. I feel like that sort of thinking is still rooted in the idea that men cannot just be victims and that they obviously must have done something horrible too in order to invite abuse onto themselves. Like people can’t fathom how a man could possibly be abused without doing something to provoke or encourage it.
funny thing is that they literally can not both be abusers, atleast not towards each other. the whole thing about abuse is an inbalance of power and control in a relationship. if one is an abuser that is the one who has more power and control in the relationship therefor making the other one not able to be an abuser since they can not both have more control than the other in the relationship
this
in many of these "they were both abuser" takes , it almost always ends with "but amber is just a human at the end of the day" as they fail to bring up any evidence on johnny being an abuser. So it's just from people refusing to believe / admit that men can indeed be victims
I think a lot of those people initially believed Amber and then wasn't able to change their opinion 180 degrees.

to be fair, a LOT of people are gonna use Amber Heard to accuse rape/abuse victims of faking it so i can see why they think that.
specially in argentina lmao
They don’t care about the actual case. They only care about keeping their activism alive no matter what. It’s disgusting.

Love how Amber immediately made this about gender after losing. This really isn't a gender issue at all, she made it one.
The irony of playing the WHAMEN card after being a massive hypocrite female abuser.
It's arguably good even a win for gender as far as males being victims of domestic violence
Yeah so much self entitlement from her. She’s not a poster child for women.
She is an embarrassment to women, and made a mockery of every *actual* victim of DV.
the true irony is that its probably the fact that she kept playing the "im the goddess of all female victims" card that made her lose the case.
Yes, absolutely.
Glad other people see this as well. The goal is equal rights and opportunity. Abolishment of presumption based on gender is a very large part of that.
Anyone can be a victim/abuser

I love not being involved with drama while its happening and then watching all of your videos on the situation so I'm caught up lol
Johnny after winning: "I never cared about the money, I only cared about speaking the truth and letting my kids know the importance of it."
Amber after losing: "Women won't be listened to. He won because he is a man."
I think it's hilarious that she even thinks that way in a country where the court system is *massively* slanted towards women.
@@Kryptic1046 She doesn't think that way, as evidenced by the recording.
She's only trying to build negativity towards Depp, which isn't going to happen.
Even when she lose, she will always be in denial because of how narcisstic she is.
As if anyone has any reason to listen to a word that amber turd says
@@tonydai782 Sadly not true. Many are buying that rethoric. Even the media (as Charlie brought up). Loads of people on twitter are repulsed that she lost.
Some people made up thier mind the second a man got accused. Nothing will make such people change thier mind.
This case proves that not all men are abusers and that some women can be the abusers too. Way to go to not only depp for remaining chill throughout the trial (and laughs) but to the awesome Camille Vasquez for being such a cool lawyer.
@ForgiveZharion ratio + this + isn’t + Twitter
The fact that some people still believes amber to this day on Twitter is insane tbh
Let's not forget Ben Chew and the rest of the legal team, absolute legends 💪
@ForgiveZharion you got clapped
@@OldFantasy I actually argued with people who defend amber on a Harry Potter group page on Facebook saying depp had anger issues and was why the studios got rid of him as grindelwald and Jack sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. Smh. Literally everyone Johnny had worked with has nothing but good things to say about him. Then I realized something, arguing with clueless people on Facebook or Twitter is just a waste of time, like amber wasted Johnny’s.
She left a surprise on the sheets💀
i love your social commentary it is so professional yet so radical :)))
