I think in Ichiran’s case it has more to do with focusing on the flavour of the ramen. Because you aren’t getting a lot of visual input other than the bowl in front of you, your other senses are enhanced.
T Greer True, but I’m referring more to the automation of things in general- pressing buttons, filling out forms as oppose to talking to a waiter. But good point.
Its such a small country with high population density and i big part of the population lives in crowded cities. For some this might be their only time alone without interaction, stress etc.
so you can respectfully stfu and enjoy your meal.

@@filthy_neet I think there's 2 location. I went to one when I visited New York. Got regular (nothing added) only because it was $20 with a refill of ramen only(promo). If I had added everything he did it would cost like an extra $10. Was still hungry lol.

Thank you for the amazing video! I used to work for Ichiran in Tokyo 12 years ago and I still love Ichiran. Next time you eat Ichiran ramen, I’d recommend you to keep some soup and pour it into the bowl of rice to make ramen soup risotto.
Do you have suggestion for other ramen? I want to try different places than Ichiran. I hear Uezu, Sumire, Nakiryu, Santouka, and Tsuta. If you can suggest me some I will be soo happy 🤗

Every single time I watch this video, my mouth starts to water because I miss this restaurant so bad. By far the best Ramen I ate in Japan and hopefully will eat it again in New York one day.

I watched this video shortly before my visit to japan. My hotel happened to be right next to an Ichiran location and I decided to try it for an early dinner.
I went back the next day for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. That's how good this place is.
Any advice on how much to save up, where did you stay I wanna start planning out a trip myself, any info helps

We have a Ramen restaurant that recently opened here in Moncton, New Brunswick. I am going to go this weekend and check it out. We also have a second hibachi restaurant that does hibachi, Mexican and Chinese, called Ole. Chris and I are going next week.

Cloudy Skies I wouldn't spend a plane ticket to Japan just for this ramen. We went to Japan last spring and tried ichiran just to see what the hype was about. The broth was *extremely porky*. We all thought it might as well have been pig jacuzzi water. We couldn't finish half of it. If you're a big fan of porky flavor you might love it I suppose. I'm actually a big fan of Japanese food even any other tonkotsu ramen but basically this is the only thing I haven't liked. Go to Japan for other amazing ramen places though. All of the places recommended by TabiEats on CZcams we're mind blowing and we would go every 2-3 days to those! Cheers :)

Absolutely one of the best ramen experiences in Japan! You didn't show the sign on each booth instructing you to "Focus on Taste!" We fell in love with this place and haven't had ramen this good since.

wow I've been here before as well. It was on my first ever trip to Japan and this restaurant was awesome. I like how they let you choose your own things for your ramen and the ramen was delicious too.

I went to ichiran on my last day. It was very good but i dont think it was the best Ive had in Japan and I'll explain why.
When i checked off the boxes to customize I pretty much went medium on richness and garlic etc... So while it wasn't bland it certainly wasnt as rich as i liked it. So the fact that you can customize your ramen is what ruined the experience because I dont usually have the option to choose how my ramen is actually prepared besides the kind. Usually you order and thats it.
So for me the customization was a pro and a con because I played it safe with the flavors but when I go back to Japan I'll give it another try and try something different with my order.

I know that feeling. Wanting to stay somewhere and just keep on eating. Not because its great value or because you get a lot of food, but because its so incredibly good and you know that when you're done you wont get to have it again for several years, if ever.
