I get you want to have a great April Fool’s joke, but really!!!! This is outrageous you would do such a thing to so many people who put their trust in you! I have lost my faith in you Dr. Cliff and in your company. Hearing loss is not a joke! Shame on you!

It was well intended and a wake up call to manufacturers and Apple alike. And, yes, I share that disability
As a father with a young daughter who deals with hearing aids I agree there needs to be a wake up for better access. Probably a good idea to add that to the video though. Make it a PSA and not just an April Fools day video.
@@DavidGailey-ky8rh If you don't like something move on as this video was meant for those with a sense of humour not to hurt anyone. I have hearing loss and did enjoy Dr. Cliff's review. For those of you that are upset maybe it was that he had you believing and are now totally embarrassed.
Any aids out there that are as small as Signia pure nx10. Non rechargeable? Everything is very big and I want small and petite without bulk and charging. Thanks!

While Apple would most likely make a major announcement if they were going into the hearing aid market, i was pleasantly surprised with Apple’s recent announcement of the updated hearing aid feature on the Apple iPods Pro. The ability to load one’s audiogram on to my AirPods was easy and it did work for me. it bought me some extra time to figure out how i was going to pay for prescription hearing aids . It was a nice temporary solution. This feature worked pretty well for me while going through the process of getting my first pair of hearing aids and it’s sort of nice to have a backup plan in case my current devices suddenly fail.
Personnel from the genius bar will also be able to do remote adjustments to better fine toon your hearing aids, but you’ll need an iPad or a Mac computer for this.

Haha! I breathed a sigh of relief at the end. I just purchased the Oticon Intent 1’s for use with my iPhone 15 pro and Apple Watch 9. I’m very happy with them and thankful to hear like this. The Deafmetal silicone harness fits perfectly on them also, even when in the charger! A big plus for me as I love the retainment jewelry just for the bling and extra peace of mind.
Veterans Affairs is providing me with Intents next week! I’m excited to be able to use them with my laptop without a connectclip

Judging by the comments, you probably should've made it clearer that it was a joke by ramping up the hyperbole. I would've mentioned quad array beamforming, with find my friends voice isolation and remote across the country live listen just to make it clearer to people 🤣

For those upset, there are legitimate prescription hearing aids available in your community that can do just about all that you were hoping this fake product would do. It doesnt have to have an apple logo to help you hear. Actually, so many companies are superior to Apple in sound quality like Sennheiser and others.

Please can you help me sir. My grandmother is at a point where she can longer move at all. She hunched over and cant read anymore which she loves. Her voice is also so weak we can barely understand her. I need a device that makes her voice louder to us and also one for audio book listening. Im a bit lost on what to get.

I used my airpod pro 2's as a hearing aid backup on the iphone and the watch and did extensive tests. With my moderate hearing loss they were terrible. Got rid of the airpods quickl...even music did not sound that great ...for that I'm using Status Audio Between 3ANC and am quite happy. Apple has a long way to go before they can compete with the major players and for those that don't want closed domes...good luck Apple.
My fav thing in the comments is people having a perception that an Apple product would instantly be much better than one from companies who have been developing the tech for years. Oh dear.

I came across this video because I'm doing research for my 70 year old mother that's been struggling with hearing loss. I brought her a new iPhone and Apple Watch for Christmas this year and literally was getting so excited watching this video and was already planning my trip back home in September so I can take her to get this. The April Fools reveal at the end knocked the wind out of me and now I feel pretty sh*tty. Im going to take a break from researching and get a snack. This was kind of cruel but hopefully you got the clicks and engagement that you were looking for I guess.
The new Soundcore's allow you to load your hearing profile sin it. Maybe one day Apple will do this. It's a pretty good step forward to them to do maybe one day

It sounds logically. Based on my expirience, the apple's noise reduction algorithm on recording sounds better than Starkey evolv AI 2400 with max-out noise/wind reduction features

Apart from ghe joke, I read an artcle where a guy uses his Airpods as a heating aid. He says they are the best ever. Has anyone try this? Maybe Cliff can do an overview?

Not at all funny, especially for those of us whose social and work lives are severely compromised by struggling to hear in background noise 😢
For a few hours every year we are allowed to be silly - for fun but often for salutory reasons. If only this was true, for like you and many others, I struggle with background noise. Made for iPhone hearing aids are great and their developer (and only for example, Oticon Intent) go a long way. If only Apple would make Made for Hearing Aids devices or even their own prescription HAs, they might get to understand. I hope Apple enjoy the joke, take note, and listen to our difficulties better than we can listen. Well done Dr Cliff - but, seriously, audiology in an Apple Store 😂

Anyway the channel seems to have drifted from quality information to an aim at scarfing up "clicks". The insensitivity of the "joke" for the purpose of gaining some cheap laughs and clicks seriously compromises trust. The fact that half of the comments express such reactions raises the question where is the apology?

My wife has me convinced I need hearing aids.... and you had me on the edge of my seat up until you said they would be fitted at the Apple Store Genius Bar AFTER buying them on the Apple website! I thought that was a bit strange. So you had me up until you uttered, ''Starting today, April 1st...'' Very cool, Doctor Cliff! BTW, you forgot to mention that this announcement was happening on Apple's 48th birthday! Yes, the company was formed on April 1, 1976.

This video made light of some of the things that are happening in hearing healthcare, it’s not being cruel to people with hearing impairment.
Folks losing their proverbial over this video: having hearing aids “fitted” by a Genius Bar staff in an Apple store would be cruel... hearing aids are only part of the equation. Your audiologist actually has value that leads to you having good hearing outcomes! If Apple had to hire all the acousticians, researchers, labs etc. required to develop a hearing aid, it’s not as if the Apple hearing aids would be less expensive than other hearing aids. Properly fitted good quality hearing aids are really good these days… nothing to be upset about in this video.
IF Apple did make a hearing aid I would grab it up immediately. I am sure the Bluetooth on it would work better than on my Widex Moments. Fact.
Only because Apple are letting al hearing aid users down with their Bluetooth, handover and restrictions

I love humor but this was really disappointing. I’ve been watching your reviews and other information about hearing aids because I’m in the market for them. Because I have difficulty adapting to new stuff I’ve actually been putting this off, but decided I’d do it this year. I’m very familiar with Apple products and was genuinely excited that I could transition easily into this new realm of my life, and it seemed just in time. Huge letdown.
Well, I have no control over what Apple does. Hopefully this will encourage them to take the next step into Rx hearing aids!

They could. The entire hearing aid industry -- providers, manufacturers, etc. -- only does around $20 billion per year. Apple's operating capital is $600 billion. They could buy it all up as a whim.
But they'd have a severe learning curve to deal with. Apple is a product company. Hearing care is a service industry. They'd learn very quickly that just putting a device in someone's ear isn't enough.
