- Learning to ride a bike. Boston Wade Hoellein spent the day learning to ride a bicycle without training wheels by himself. I am so proud of his determination. he usually does not put as much effort into things as he did today. Joel takes the kids to the gym, but the gym wouldn't take the kids. So instead Lincoln, Cody and Boston all enjoy some french toast for breakfast. One of my children was 4 and through his own trial and error taught himself how to ride a 2 wheeler at 4.
I on the other hand spent a whole summer ( it felt like ) being taught how to ride a 2 wheeled bike in different bikes in our neighborhood. When I finally got my balance in check I'd get so nervous when everyone was cheering me on I would fall off the bike!!!! So I got a hold of a small bike that belonged to a next door neighbor and practiced. It was a very small 2 wheeled bike so I could feel more confident and eventually did it myself minus my cheering section.
But I was 7!
I know everyone has their own particular age and having a major vision impairment wasn't helpful either. Because of my blindness my balance is a bit off.
Thank you for sharing such a sweet milestone in your little boy's life.
I wish we had You Tube when my children were little. I would really enjoy reminiscing old videos of my children's lives.

My daughter FINALLY started riding a bike without training wheels only last week and she is 6.5 - she can jump off a 5 meter diving platform and flip at acrobatics, but riding a bike freaked her out. It just goes to show that kids will do things in their own sweet time.

Mister Rogers was my childhood. I remember sitting on a bucket with our teeny box tv while were building my house. Oh memories.
Way to go Boston! My oldest learned at 6, she was hard to teach. My middle daughter learned right before she turned 5, she was super easy and got it fast. And my youngest, son, taught himself right after he turned 3. Neither my husband or I had the energy to help him, we had just taught the girls a few months earlier. But he was determined and did it all in his own! ❤️
