  • Just digging a little deeper into why my bolt won’t hold open. I have found the recoil spring has been compressed to half-inch shorter than it.. May have found a contributing factor to it but not sure as of yet.
I will try to test tomorrow to see what goes on.

I haven't had any problems, but no where near the number of rounds you have on yours. Everything stock and no issues yet. I think you are on the right track. Thanks for all you do!!

I swapped in the Tac buffer plug. No issues for the first 200+ shots. Last time at the range, my bolt would not hold open. I'll be doing some measuring this morning...

I found that the Taccom plug did NOT change a thing. It wasn't part of the issue.

The newer models all have 11 and half inches buffer spring regardless of the finish black , gray or Tan , the first production has 10 plus inches that also have roll pins instead of hammer head pins on the firing bolt.

Both of mine have pins, not roll pins. They are 15 months apart.

    Makes sense
When I had the taccom buffer plug in mine, I didn’t like it, and come to think of it, it wasn’t holding open last round either
I put the stock one back in and everything works properly

I went back to the stock part. Just going to leave it that way.

@hollowpointdefense Hi, Thanks for all you do here. I just bought one of these two weeks ago, and I am wondering what is the reason a person would want to change the buffer plug, taccom or otherwise. Thanks.

For the average person, there is no real reason to do so. I did it to see how much of a difference it made, which was very minimal at best. Also, Thank you!

Hmmmm, also have the Taccom buffer plug and bolt does not hold open. Sounds like it's time for a cleaning and "inspection" of parts 😆

So far, the taccom part is not the issue. More info coming this evening.

Doesn't the magazine follower catch on the bolt to hold open? Maybe bottom of the bolt or the mag follower? 🤔🤔🤔

    • @hollowpointdefense
      @hollowpointdefense  Před 2 měsíci +1

It supposed to do that, this one doesn't. This is one of the first ones out and it is slightly different than the newer ones coming out now. The bolt catch is bent in to the center slightly more than the current models.

Gun smith Paper behind my name no. I only have armorer papers.

Why do you add so much to a gun that is made to be folded for a backpack or what ever. Imo, you're defeating the purpose of the firearm. To the point of mounting a Canaveral mount backward just to make it work. It's a 9mm, not a 5.56,300 or7.62. Yes, it's your weapon, and you can do as you wish, but your steering people in the wrong direction for what you're trying to achieve with that weapon just build a 9mm from the start the weapon is designed the way it is for a reason from S&W your having issues because your changing out parts that there is no need to do so it's a 600.00 firearm for a reason. Buy it, fold it, and pack it. That's what it's made for
