As a collingwood supporter at the 2019 prelim against gws, even though it was a loss it was the best game I ever went to. I and everyone I was sitting with lost their voices from yelling in the fourth quarter it was so loud.
Cool the best game I’ve been to is Richmond west coast in 2018
I remember being at the “miracle on grass” (lions vs Geelong 2013) and we were about to leave at 3 quarter time because the lions were down by like 60 points. But we decided to stay, and holy shit I’m so glad we did, by far the best game I’ve ever been to.
Missed some crucial moments in these games... agreed with all though!

This is just a personal favourite for me as a Blues supporter, but our 1 points victory over the Giants in 2017 was amazing

I was alive aha just younger, I wasn’t really a huge Carlton supporter until 2016-17 so I don’t remember a lot of that but yes, probably our best game for the 2010’s

2019 prelim was a great game but who didn't want to see pies vs richmond grand final. Instead of the unsurprising boring shit that ended up happening

The fact that the miracle on grass came down to one of the most unlikely, and scrappy coast to coast movements is the real unbelievable thing. With it down to the last 30 seconds you would have thought “shame, they’ve fought so hard but it’s down the wrong end, oh well”

Round 3 2016 North Melbourne vs Melbourne is underrated. 136-131, Melbourne were down like 50-0 in the first quarter and came back to lead at half time.

Port should’ve won there elim final, high contact on westhoff with 47 seconds too go, but it wasn’t called

I as, an eagles fan agree that these were bad calls, so was shuey's duck, but there are always going to be bad calls in games of footy. Some calls in that grandy were very much wrong in Collingwood favour. Just because it was at a big moment, doesn't mean it's anymore instrumental in the victory than another bad call.
Pretty good list considering the relative subjectivity and the number of games you could have considered!
Don't confuse Top 10 *Games* of the Decade with the Top 10 *Finishes* of the decade. The 2010 drawn Grand Final was one of the worst games ever, played between two teams who insisted on flooding the football, one of which insisted on kicking sideways and backwards, while the other insisted on going via the cape every single time. The worst part about that game was that it was a draw and we had to endure it all again the following week.
The 2011 Grand Final was a much better contest, where both teams went at it hammer and tong for 3 quarters, and Geelong's class simply showed in the last quarter.
You also needed a Showdown in there. Round 8 from 2018 or probably even more memorably, Round 19 from 2013 - the last Showdown ever at Football Park. At the expense of the Collingwood v Giants Prelim. A gutsy effort by the Giants to hang on but hardly a game you would want to show to the rest of the world.
Hawthorn's win over Geelong in the 2013 Prelim also, at the expense of the 2011 Prelim.
The Hawthorn v Adelaide Semi Final from 2012 is also very stiff, but you can't really take any of the other ones out!

2011 prelim shouldve been top 5 tbh
the 2014 Essendon v North Melbourne eliminiation final should be on this list. Essendon up by 30 at half time, North came back hard in the second half and ran over the top in the final 2 minutes with two quick Drew Petrie goals accompanied by the iconic frank the tank celebration. The game where Ben Brown announced himself and Essendon lost yet another final.
2012 Essendon vs Sydney game Dempsey plays on, on the siren should be on here. Geelong vs Richmond 2016 (Geelong 35 point comeback from 3qtr time)

@@BarbellFooty i don't think u shoulda put a regular season game like port v saints in. It was a normal game with average teams that didnt play finals and have no rivalry with an exciting last 2 minutes.
Geelong Vs hawks has a huge rivalry both teams were at the top all year and it was a prelim final whoever wins plays grand final. Lead changes all game and hawks come back from 20 points in the last quarter and have a famous victory.

The 2013 Hawks vs Cats prelim was the best game of the decade and you didn’t even have it in there. I’m a Hawks supporter and the 2012 grand final was wayyy better than most of these, it may have not been the closest as it was 10 points the margin but the overall game is one of the best ever and it still went down to the wire the game was on the line until the last 30 seconds when Malceski kicked the goal, plus it was a grand final but nahhh Saints vs Port was apparently better lmao.
