  • Spain update and the requirements to work as a cleaner in a new Benidorm hotel have raised eyebrows with good personal hygiene and language skills a must.

Recognizing Palestine in its current form with Hamas running Gaza is a support for terrorists. Palestine needs to have Hamas gone and have a democratic government.

From the, let’s say, generally view a voter may have and my particular view from politicians known personally… the psoe is a magnet for opportunism and corruption without scruples but certain appearances like “grand” gestures like this one to distract from their misdeeds against workers etc 🤷🏻‍♂️. And it is again and again. But the fault resides on the partisan unthinking population that for one reason or other or no reason doesn’t know but to vote “their party”.

I was in Spain during the Falklands war and reading the English and Spanish press you would have thought they were reporting two completely different incidents.

That doesn't surprise as when I first moved here, my girlfriend and I went to a buffet place. The meat section was looked after this man who heard me speaking English, and kept on saying a phrase. I asked my girlfriend what he was saying and it turned out that he was an Argentinian saying the Falklands Islands belonged to them.
      Thankfully has never happened since.

I think people should be happy to learn a little Spanish while watching your videos. Endibia is close enough to endive to be easy to understand if you speak English only. Also there is a photo of the "endive leaves" to help make the connection. Thanks for adding a new word to my Spanish vocabulary!

The VAT refund scheme is because if you are buying something and export it (from the EU), it counts as an export and so it is not subject to VAT. The UK scrapped this scheme when it left the EU, which has been said to have damaged London as a shopping destination for foreigners, as they pay £6 for every £5 on the pre-VAT retail price. On a £60,000 diamond ring, that's £10,000.

The VAT tax rebate is only for goods exported from Spain or EU. So, tourists cannot get VAT back on services like hotels, rental cars or meals, but if they buy goods like souvenirs, art, clothes etc and keep the receipts, they can get a rebate of the VAT they paid on those goods which thye take with them back home...

With regard to IVA / VAT refunds, perhaps it might be worth it if you buy some expensive item in Spain because there is a risk that customs at your destination airport might want you to pay your home import duty & VAT. Unlikely, but theoretically possible?

Spanish companies are in Argentina because they make profits there. Pedro Sánchez's hurt feelings are of little concern to corporations. If Milei is successful in improving Argentina's economy, the corporations will be beating a path to the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires. Diplomats are a waste of the people's money.

The getting VAT back is only on certain purchases over a certain amount. There are apps you can register with that supposedly make it easier. You have to present the articles and receipts and paperwork at the special offices at the airport.
I have filed and never seen the money returned to my account.

On which basis do you say Spain supported Argentina on the Falklands war? The Spanish government was neutral. Another thing is that Spanish people, for sentimental reasons, was more inclined to support Argentina. Which is the obvious choice for Spain since Argentina is a close country (language, people, culture etc).

Damn fools those Spanish companies worrying about Milei, his whole ethos is to get out of the way and not take anything if at all possible. There is no prospect whatsoever of his government seizing Spanish-owned assets in Argentina, his whole pitch is to get anyone who wants to invest there to come in. That will benefit Argentina. In 15 years, Spaniards will be looking for work in BA, like Portuguese used to go to Venezuela in the 1980s.

On the Palestinian question, Sr. Sanchez maybe should have checked with the Palestinians as to where the state of Palestine should be. I don't think they agree with him.
I always thought that the IVA rebate only applied to items purchased in the EU and being taken out of the country. If people tried to reclaim every bit of IVA they had paid, like restaurant meals etc. that would be farcical.
For those maybe wondering the Kelly thing is a contraction of 'Las que limpiar'.

Milei insulted Lula before, eventhough Brazil is Argentina's first trading partner. She also insulted López Obrador, who I believe has been the only president of Mexico that not even Mexicans have ever insulted. Those are family quarrels so it's ok. Nothing serious yet. But he also messes with China!

Those people can't stand that López Obrador is taking that away from them and actually doing things that benefit the working class and the elderly.
