- What was Duane Allman reading when he died?
Take in relaxing and informative tour of THE BIG HOUSE Museum and it's extensive collection of Allman Brothers Band memorabilia. From Gregg Allman's legendary B3 organ to Duane's guitar "Layla" & signature glass medicine bottle slide, to the actual bedrooms of three members of the family, we give a quick peek that scratches the surface of this incredible museum which must be experienced in person. One of the most deep experiences is visiting Duane's bedroom and standing in there, alone, in the quiet with his own stuff. Wait until you see what he was reading for the 5th time. I LOVE IT!!!!

I bet you can still feel the creative energy that happened there. They've kept it as a really neat time capsule.
It's pretty amazing. Linda Oakley kept all that bedroom furniture and stuff in storage! Its an incredible place.
I was there six weeks ago. Fantastic! Also Rose Hill Cemetery where I saw the four Brothers' gravesites, Little Martha's gravesite, Elizabeth Reed's gravesite, Bond Tomb, where the back cover of the first album was taken; H&H restaurant twice where I sat in Mama Louise's chair (what an honor); Capricorn Studios tour; Kirk West's studio where I got a photo with Kirsten West; other Allman related sites. The bass is Berry Oakley's not Gregg's, though it's not The Tractor; the bass on the right you mentioned is David Goldflies' bass. The stencil road case is just that, not a cabinet. Thanks for the recent memories!
Thank you Rob!
Ah--that explains my DEEP love of Duane's playing--he LOVED the LOTR : )!!! Great stuff, as usual, Dennis!
Great band.
I was hoping to see a moccasin with a bullseye and bullet-hole on it
Ha ha! I did not see one!
Yes, so was I. That was a story I heard Gregg tell in the 80 s. And I never heard it since. That's the kind of story you think you would hear a lot. The Doctor probably threw them out. He should have kept them
I would love to plug into that Marshall Plexi
I know!!!
Great video and tour, Dennis! Love the funky vibe of the house! Thank you for sharing! 😎
Ty, kr! You to see you.
Love the big Allman house! Also what is the first song playing in the background ? It has a great groove !
Thanks Kevin! I love the big house ! The songs are all from epidemic sound for media - sorry don’t have the name but will look for it
