Well I missed The Cramps. Have some vynil records and I've been following them for many years. I've been to other "crazy live shows" like Iggy Pop or Jane's Addiction, but I believe The Cramps have been one of the last real Rock N Roll bands (rockabilly & garage roots) most rebellious and on the knife edge. Definitely they had their own thing like no other.

Love Siouxie Sioux! Great, unique voice. Great stage presence. I kived in LA for some year & was invited to their show by a lical promoter, wires got crossed missed it. Would have been back stage, after gatherings. To this day when I listen to them I think of that missed opportunity! 😭

Glad you at least mentioned The Dead boys they had legendary shows there. They deserved a bit more love though. They even acted as house band. Even though the band didn't last long they still were highly influential.

Funny that Lux, Ivy, Dave Vanian and Danzig were growing up by the same era and watching the same cheap horror movies, but thousands of miles apart, and their love of these b movies would be the ignition of a whole aesthetic and a new music genre by the late 70s.

This is a big room with lots of watts needed. They sound even better !! I love the fact they use basic effect padel chains. It does mean you have to actually be able to play which they have obviously to a lot of work into to sound this tight. Classic fuelie 327 4-on-the-floor Corvette Stingray stuff. Do they play Hawaii 5-0? Ventures wrote that one you know.

I saw the Door once, in Dallas, the second show of what turned to be the Last Good Performance of the Doors with Jim, the one before that dark night in New Orleans. I was amazed that he was so drunk - he had a fresh case of Coors on top of an amp and will suck a can down between songs. Could it see that the second case of the evening? My gawd, what bladder control! And the beer had to be room temperature. But the band as the top of the game and the performance was so good. I am so lucky that this is my memory of the Last Great Door concert and I had introduced to "Riders on the Storm" for the first time ALIVE, SHE CRIED! I am glad I never met Morrison one and one in this stage of his life. From all accounts, he truly a mad sonabitch. But I love his poetry, his voice, and his art. Rest in Peace, sweet Jim.

Was at the Sac State show. Weezer was on the bill right before and walked off after two songs because their equipment was still in San Jose. The Cramps came on and blew apart the Hornet’s Nest. All the kids were there for Weezer and looks on their little baby faces was classic. They got to learn firsthand what Rock & Roll was all bout. RIP Lux!
