      Excellent point. The entrance must be 3', but I usually aim for 4'. My daughter was in a wheelchair for a year. We learned how frustrating it can be when you can't shop in stores. Thank you SO much for the reminder.

    Love your space!! Would really like instructions on exactly how you did your entrance using the doors and ladder! It’s fantastic and I’d love to do something like that in my booth....just need it not to fall in anyone!

      I used L-brackets and screws and screwed the whole thing into the side wall support. I also used scrap wood as diagonal braces. I will be building a free standing old door wall soon and will be making a video on it. Hopefully that will be helpful. I also asked other dealers in the mall their options on sturdiness.

      It was my first struggle, too. I have a video all on building walls. I am also building a new free standing display for my booth with old doors. Maybe I will tape how I do it to share. czcams.com/video/9PtdwNAM2PE/video.html. Just over build it. Make it super secure. Also make friends with dealers that have good walls.
      Best of luck.

    Sadly I am on waiting lists at 3 different antique malls. They all say a year wait. I was buying for the booth. Now I don't know if I should give up and walk or wait it out and sell at an extravaganza in the fall

    • @theturnedleg
      @theturnedleg  Před 2 lety +2

      Maybe you can find an in to help move your name up on the list. Maybe they need a cashier once a week? Or some other help. Popping in regularly will tie your face to the name. Keep trying and also talk to other dealers you see. They may know of other options that you have not considered. I did pop up barn sales in my mom’s garage until I got my booth. I learned a lot and it really helped me prepare.

I am very, very new to it (12 days in;)), and would love some feedback from an experienced and successful booth owner! Thank you!!!!

      Congrats on your new booth space. So excited for you. The most important thing for your booth is that you find your own style and what works for you. The best way to see what you want to do with your booth is to take pictures and look for inspiration. Pinterest is a great spot for inspiration. I have a full board on booth display you should check out. Booths evolve and usually it takes me a year or so in a new space to really feel comfortable in it. Don't compare your self to others. Do what feels right and follow your heart. You got this. It is hard work, but can be SO rewarding. I also have a bunch of booth 101 videos here that can help. Good luck on your space. So excited for you.
