    I like your dedication, so helpful for beginners. I set up my store by genre and create ‘rooms’ within the store. Now that I’m expanding to two new booth spaces I’ve taken the time to go to some antique malls to understand what booths I find attractive and why. Here’s what I decided. 1. Lighting, low and overhead 2. Natural elements, especially greenery. 3. Curated, not piles of disparate stuff. 5. Full but not crammed.

    This is great info and you point out things nobody else does, such as what the seller is doing for customers with the plants. Thanks!
    The one thing I notice every time I go to an antique mall or thrift store, are the aisles. There's a reason you rarely see folks in wheelchairs or using walkers in antique or thrift store... the aisles and booths aren't set up for people with disabilities.
    I'm not talking about the large "box store" thrift stores like Goodwill or Savers, I'm talking about stores with booths, as you've been showing us here. If my niece wanted to shop with her mother and me, she'd only be able to move down the main aisles, but not within any of the booths you showed. She'd end up sitting at the front of the store waiting for us to finish, but we would never do that to her, so we would never go to any store she could not navigate.
    The lesson is, sellers are losing customers by not having aisles that are wide enough and booths that are easy to navigate with a wheel chair, walker, or crutches. Please put that information in your tutorials. Thanks!

    The trash talk space, that’s what I grew up with! Love digging in a space like that. But I do agree, it makes it harder for sales.

    I don't have a booth nor do I sell things online but I thoroughly enjoyed watching you and hearing your tips. These are all great points for anyone having a garage sale also. My daughter doesn't go to yard/garage sales and she's never had a sale either. So we are doing 3 together, one each month, and the first thing I told her was, "rule number one: everything must be easily accessed". Second thing, don't clutter it up....leave a little space among items so they are easily noticed, and nothing on the floor unless it's a big item.Third, draw their eyes toward the things you really want them to notice.....groupings, nicely arranged/displayed make an impression. Of course items must be clean! We had one man walk in, look around and comment on different pieces. Then he said this was the most delightful garage sale he had ever been to. He said, "someone must have worked in retail". Nope. I'm a retired RN and she's a hairdresser! But we loved to hear his compliments, and he wasn't the only one to comment on how nice our sale was. It really does pay off!

    You are really good at pointing out the pros and cons of displays. Maybe you should do consulting for venders and help them improve their booths and increase their sales. You could charge well for that because it will help them so much. Just a thought!

    It's interesting, I love booth spaces that look like the "overly crowded" one. It's about the hunt for me! I feel this one is beautifully done & displayed, I have seen some that are just dumped items everywhere and it's not good. I personally will avoid booths that are too sparse or too "new item/decorative" stuff only. But that's me!☺️

    Melanie, you make so much sense! I’m in a couple of booths with a friend. Her idea if good display is piling everything together! There is no rhyme nor reason to what she does. Yet, she sells and sells well. I try to convince her to let the furniture be seen but my words fall on deaf ears. She doesn’t want any greenery or imported floral, which is too bad, our booths are bland- blah! 😮I think I’m going to Hobby Lobby on Monday and just buy a few small greens. Maybe she’ll see it my way for a change, but I’m not holding my breath!!!

    Do you have tips for displaying on a locked glass shelf that is in a room full of other locked glass shelves?

    • @NotoriousPND429
      @NotoriousPND429 Před rokem +1

      I would either paint the cabinet (if it's yours) a different color than the rest, which would immediately make it stand out more. As an alternative, you could paper the interior back of the cabinet with decorative paper- peel and stick wallpaper, or even gift wrap (which can be put on with double stick tape and easily removed.) Or do both! Visually, their eyes will be drawn to your cabinet right away. And I'd arrange your shelves the way you would at home. Groupings of three always look great, add height for interest, and texture. Hope this helps.

    🌺 New Subscriber, I have watched all / And some of them more than once. My question is how to bring the customer a Beautiful display when the booth space is Very Small? My Booth Space is 2ft x 4ft wide. Sometimes I don’t have enough smells to even fill it. Because I have ran out of smells & have many larger items. It gets frustrating at times because I have a vision of how I want my booth month after month & I can’t do it because of the small space. I have been on a waiting list for almost 2 years now for a larger booth. But even the larger booth is not big enough what I incision. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!!

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  Před rokem

      Hi Tambi! Maximizing a smaller space can be tough, but it’s doable :) Sounds like you need to change up a bit what you’re buying. Buy for the needs of your space, not just what you can find. So if you need small fillers, focus on those in your shopping budget next month. I know it can be frustrating to be on a waiting list that long… but if you can rock out this small space, you may find yourself moving up that waiting list faster!! Owners like to promote great sellers. So stage THIS booth well for now, which means a mix of a few large, some mediums, and more smalls.

      Hi there! There’s another video on my channel where I talk just about this-the pros and cons of various selling options. Also, what you’re experiencing is pretty normal for business-something works well, then doesn’t work anymore! The end of the year and start of the new year is a great time to reevaluate your business and make any needed adjustments. If selling on FB marketplace isn’t working anymore, then I would for sure try getting into a physical store for this next year, and see what happens :)
