  • I started the T.W.A.T. by riding from my home in Marshfield to the Illinois line at Spring Green, Wisconsin. I turned the corner onto the T.W.A.T. route after 2:00 pm in the afternoon, having ridden 211 miles of highway.
The first section of the T.W.A.T. is easy paved, rural roads. I have one photo of a rest stop at the Corps of Engineers campground along the Mississippi River. From here, the trail takes advantage of sand and gravel backroads following the river. I was following the "overland" GPS track - purposefully avoiding the worst dual-sport tracks and sticking to the gravel backroads.
I have biked extensively in NE Iowa (RAGBRAI 2021 and 2022) so I didn't need to see the same roads again. At Prairie du Chein I kept heading north along the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi. Turning back on the official route. The gravel roads between the Mississippi River valley were excellent all the way to Sparta.
I camped near Wildcat Mountain State Park the first night, having tallied 430 total miles, 219 since Hazel Green.
I was on the road at 6:00 am on Day 2, with breakfast in Sparta. From here the route winds its way toward Hatfield. There was one place where the trail tracks split - going onto a sand ATV trail and the gravel road. The sand trail had just been groomed by a snowmobile trail groomer. It was perfectly flat - and SOFT!. I immediately returned to the gravel road. it was only then that I aired down my tires for the first time. The TFT dash and tire monitors made this a simple task.
I had a short snack break off the main route along the East Fork of the Black River at a campground I have visited previously. After passing the burg of Hatfield, the route turns onto a forest road that was deep sand. Luckily, I only spun out once and the route turned back onto manageable gravel.
After lunch at Rock Dam, I headed into Thorp to top off my fuel. Leaving Thorp, I had travelled less than 10 miles when i picked up a nail. Thank goodness for TUBELESS tires! I was able to plug the hole without removing the wheel or tire. A HUGE time and energy saver, especially on a road with no shoulder.
Having worked up a sweat, i looked forward to a bath at Lake Jeanette near Perkinstown. From here, I followed the route to Clam Lake before stopping for the night. Day 2 totaled 298 miles.
I took only a few photos of my campsite, but everything was blurry due to swarms of mosquitos. I slept well and was driving away from my campsite at 5:35 am the next morning.
The first 40 miles of so after Clam Lake are great, winding gravel forest roads with gentle rolling hills. The comes a section of sand roads that seemed to stretch for 20 miles. These roads had also been groomed and were flat. Only one minor mishap and I was back on gravel approaching Highway 13 and the end of the T.W.A.T. Day 3 trail mileage was 107.
I included a photo at Cornucopia on the shore of Lake Superior, but it was fogged in. I also made a short stop at the marina in Bayfield.
The route home was entirely on Highway 13 back to Marshfield. After 180 miles I pulled in the driveway. The total for the three days equaled 1,015 miles, 624 on the T.W.A.T. route from Spring green to Cornucopia.
Here is the link to my ride report and review of the CSC Motorcycles RX4:
    www.greatoutthere.online/post...
The highway riding topped 75 mph. For most of the T.W.A.T. I rode between 30 and 40 mph, with occasional bursts to 50 on good gravel. Overall, I averaged about 55 MPGs with the RX4 and the 450cc single-cylinder motor.

Most of the videos are from the camera inside the waterproof case = NO sound! I don't do "voiceovers".

Tank bags are available in magnetic or with the strap harness. I prefer the non-magnetic version. I can't give you any more help. Each vendor has their own models numbers.

I simply thought that your proven rides with the tank bag could save me a lot of guesswork. I've watched the videos, and it looks like the bag you have is perfect. I saw a bag on craigslist so I bought it..... no straps .... Oops !
Ended up being a small loss, as it was only a $20 dollar mistake. So, before I pull the trigger online, I thought I would reach out one last time....( BTW, I enjoyed reading your reviews and watching all your videos. Thx.. Brian@@thegreatoutthere
