- This is just a short video. I was trying so hard to record more but people around me were starting to panic so I had to jump off the bleachers. (ok, maybe I was getting a little nervous too!) But no one was hurt and the drivers did an excellent job keeping the horses going around the arena until they slowed down. True professionals!! And we were sad that we didn't get to see them the rest of the morning. Always one of our favorite teams to watch!! I can't believe I missed the beginning when it all started. I was right there but was waiting for the next hitch to come around the corner.
Can we just appreciate the horses in the middle though? Remaining so calm! Half the time when something like this happens, it’s quite easy for other horses to spook if there is enough commotion
Nah usually the other horses stay calm when something like this happens but yea we appreciate them
“EVERY BODY PLEASE GET AWAY FROM THE FENCES”, nobody moves lol 6 massive beasts charging your way. “Does she mean us??”
People are so stupid 😂😂🤯
You just find that now!
well yeah - they hitch 6 heavy horses to a cart - let's start with that!
Percherons were feeling their oats that day! Love 'em.
'get away from the fences'
everybody: nah i'm good
They’re the ones not wearing masks right now lol
@@MrYoungwhip yh youre probably right
"Get away from the fences!" Continues tonetand by fences and or chase horses lol
You can't stop 6 panicking horses from the ground - the driver was able to turn them - let him do his job without having to worry about you getting hurt. Running at them, or with them, will not calm them down.
I've seen a few videos of people doing that and I have never seen it work. Just stirs them up more.
So last winter there was a horse that decided to raise hell towards the end of the season and he started to wait for us to either hitch him up or unhitch and he would take off like lightning. It was a 2 horse set up so there was another who never wanted part of that. ANYWAY, one day in the snow we were going to drop the wagon outside cause they were used the next day. I knew the one decided a few weeks before to run off while hitching (2nd horse was there for the ride) and one of the girls went to stand in front so they couldn't decide to take themselves back to get unharnessed, since they had before. She was standing there for like seconds and I was right next to her but I saw his look lol she almost got run over but I grabbed her coat and threw her to the side and at the same time I ran in front of them while they tried to barrel through and just YELLED and screamed I swear to f- God I'M NOT DOING THIS TODAY right in the naughty ones face and HE STOPPED DEAD and stood like a gentleman for everything the rest of the night. So yea sometimes it really does work. I also have used it many times on horses freaking out or rearing just doing regular stuff like lunging, sometimes words don't come out lol and it's just some really loud weird noise but it works the same. The reason it works is its something suddenly different and brings their attention from whatever straight to you, but like you have to become WAY more exciting than whatever they were on at first and then a lot of times they will actually focus on you and you can change the way their mind is going and settle them. Not all horses but a lot.
Watch out for the “helpers” who don’t help, fr

So…? The horse team was reined in safely/successfully? No humans were harmed in this Rodeo clip? Guests were probably surprised by the announcement, confused as to what they could hear and see; (HOOFBEATS, DRIVERS SHOUTING, PERSONNEL YELLING, LOUD SPEAKER BLARING, then 6 gorgeous, Dapple-grays thundering in their direction!) Instant response to an emergency or accident unfolding isn’t within the 1-10 scope of things we see every day. (unless you are a First Responder.) Naturally, we’d be rooted to the spot, unless horseflesh of that size/velocity was HEADED RIGHT FOR US. I witnessed a team of Clydesdales in training tangle up in a too-sharp turn. They all just SAT DOWN, AND DIDN’T PANIC, until help arrived to get it sorted out. Amazing! That’s a REAL TEAM, for you! This is also why the large breeds are called, ColdBloods. What was the outcome of this runaway team episode?
CLE, TEXAS.
I think the same woman is the announcer on every run away video
Yep. It's the "Stay quiet, stay quiet, stay quiet" lady
The only sane person in American horse shows I think.
Announcer: "Everyone please get away from the fences."
Bystander: "Does that mean all of us".
Our modern education system really does fail many of our youth, doesn't it.
I was surprised to see not 1 rider on horseback.
All you need is One good outrider !
My thoughts too!
This is why I like engines and motors. They have off switches.
You've obviously never had a diesel engine runaway. I can't tell you the exact mechanism, but it is a scary thing
@@danielmoulton4117 I know what it is and no, I’ve never had one. That’s more of a super high performance engine problem or a very worn out engine problem. I operate neither
Imagine a cavalry attack with hundreds of horses...
Weekend warriors that like to think of themselves as teamsters and horses that aren't used enough to tire them out are a recipe for disaster.
The horses were making all the decisions long before they got to the ring!
Look ma no brakes !
ya done lost control SONN
Wonderful train 😍
Go to the fences! Go to the fences!
Was the guy filming on a bucking horse!
Been nice to to all of it
Кто нибудь скажет? Что они рядом с лошадьми бегают! А?
Draft horses with tight check reins. And they wonder why they panic?
And, you are absolutely sure they had tight check reins, because...?
Checks are for exactly this purpose? To help control the horses in the event of a spook. A draft horse in a full frame is genuinely unstoppable, let alone having a full hitch of them. A checked draft horse is unable to frame, and thus has less pull power, meaning the driver actually stands a chance at being able to stop them.
All draft horses are comfortable with checks, and even in line classes as foals are taught to run with their heads up. Checks had absolutely nothing to do with this spook. Horses are horses, and percherons are usually exceptionally easy to spook :)
@@Melodyandblaze
Actually, a check rein was originally used to keep a horse from putting its head down. And wasn’t meant to be tight. It helps prevent a horse from trying to graze, or buck when in harness. They don’t need to be tight for that reason.
Check reins got a bad reputation because of people who thought it looked smarter for a horse to have a high head carriage, and would use the check rein to raise their head higher than was comfortable for the horse.
Check reins for most harness horses are now used for their original purpose, and are actually loose, when a horses head is in its normal position.
@@Melodyandblaze The Working Shires in London {Youngs} never had bearing reins or checks of any kind. And these were massive prize-winners in the show ring as well.
Get away from the fences, does that mean us? You get 2 guesses and the first doesnt count.
Good morning s.r
That was it?
The lead horse farted and the swing horse sprung and the wheeler sh%t on the wagon tounge !
Runaway Six Horse
I must have missed the runaway part
Stuck throttle?
Why are folk getting in their way and shouting? They were circling within the arena, not near any other horses or vehicles, and would slow down once they calmed down. Shouting is only going to spook them. And getting in the way is asking to be run over by six tons of horse.
Yeah. Give 'em half a dozen laps or so and that nervous energy will burn-off.
TF. Why film if your're going to turn of the damn camera???
Why hate if you can't Spell?
@@LocalEquestrian1 Don’t act like you didn’t feel at least the same way even just a tiny bit. Also, even if I make a mistake, it takes a complete and utter hole of an ass (did I spell that right?) to focus on that mistake at all, than the point of my message. Omg, look! You have found my lost ‘F’...fuck off.
And as is so often the case, before anything dramatic occurs, the camera is dropped.
Did they get them stopped ok does anyone know ?
Yep they did! They went around another time or two and then they stopped. I have the last 20 seconds with them finally slowing down here: czcams.com/video/lqegZ1wuqvM/video.html and here is the lap that they did in between.. czcams.com/video/DseinoK3ioM/video.html Sorry it's in 3 parts but the people in front of us were getting nervous and climbing up the bleachers because we were all kind of blocked in by a golf cart on the side.
nope...they still going....round.....and round.....and round.....and round.....
shane jeffery hillarious!😂🤣😅
legend has it that the horses are still running in circles. looking for a way out.
It has been 5 years and they are still running.
Wheels wore off the wagon 3 years ago so now they are dargging the wagon.
Every day the wife of the guy on the wagon throws him a sandwich.
Where are y'all's outriders?
Wheels locked up lmaooo, but when you have a bunch of horses pulling, doesn’t matter lmao
All those people yelling whoa does not help the situation and if you had an old-timey muleskinner he could have stopped that's what they do best
Couple Dalmatians on standby could have solved this problem in a hurry. Multilingual dogs, they speak both dog and horse... And Croatian weirdly enough.
Chasing them on foot is just stupid. Get out of the arena and let the driver work his team.
Thanks for cutting it off before they were stopped. SMH.
Turn camera off.
Its a shaming time.
Too much horsepower For that boy?
Those ppl are so dumb.Going in front of them is gonna do NOTHING.Horses are not afraid to run little ppl over. They are giant creatures and you think you can stop them. What has the world become
In Harness racing, if a horse gets lose on the track, people form a wall and the horse will see you from a ways away and slow down. They enjoy running around but they don’t want to hurt anybody and are very intelligent.
actually horses slow down when they see a person in front of them unless they are truly terrified which a mild or moderate spook is not terrified; yes ive stopped horses doing this.
Not like you needed to get off the bleachers lol the horses are just running in circles no real severe risk to you or anyone outside the fence
lol....its like when they yell..."dont panic"....you immediately panic
Trust an old horseman, that could have gone from "just running in circles " to a full blown tragedy in a millisecond. At that point, the arena fences, and the structural parts of the bleachers would have parted like the sea before Moses. I've seen too many instances of horses going from upset to beyond any control to think otherwise, and they'll go for miles before exhaustion sets in.
If those horse decided to go throw the fences, the bleachers and the people, they would have.
Armies used to send soldiers on horseback into the lines of infantry.
That’s what you call, a hillbilly horse ride!!
.
Not much of a "runaway".... Everyone just stay out of the way. Half a dozen laps around the ring and those horses will be ready to stop and blow for a while.
Ya. Perhaps the idea of keeping them wild up is to wear them out faster. I've seen a few videos that have people doing that in attempt to stop them and it never works.
why cant people video
It’s one thing to stop filming. It’s another to actually post this nonsense to CZcams
Why do you watch it?
It's actually good people see what happens on shows like this. Let me rephrase that, on AMERICAN shows. It's shocking how often it goes wrong and how stupid people behave. Brainless idiots.
@@Linda-hs1lk okay first I do American shows this is never once happened at any horse show I've ever gone to! This can happen anywhere you bigoted pig!
@@CPRA13 Liz, I wouldn't necessarily call him that. However, he really should keep quiet with his air of superiority. He should know not to be this rude and arrogant.
@@CPRA13 Yeah and I have been to well over 600 PBR shows. People wouldn't think a bull with thick leg bones can break a leg but it does happen.
That was anti-climatic.
the dregs of America
!HORSE ABUSE! Horses should not pull this weight even if they're drafts. I wish the humans the WORST.
Oh yeah, they have a rea ltime pulling that load, that is just not true.
They got out of control because carrigging horses are bad.
