Forgot Book, Rambled in Woods

- This video was supposed to be a reading of some excerpts from a book that is perfectly apropos to be read in this setting, but I left home without it. So instead, the book reading will be published about a week from now, and this video is just another typical improv session (like 95% of my channel) where I ramble about a variety of topics such as tick prevention, being both smart & stupid, etc., etc.

About 16:20, I’m from Sweden, and I just find it so intriguing that even tho we live in different parts of the world. I can still listen, relate and ponder on your thoughts. You don’t have a clue about who I am, and it don’t matter, it’s quite beautiful if you think about it. Check out images of northern PA like Loyalsock State forest, the wildlife seems larger and more vibrant during the summers. I weekend there at a cabin sometimes, its beautiful
Anger can be a hormone problem. It’s natural in response to life stuff. May be related to work stress. I know work stress has done a number on me over the past few years. Accept your emotions, but don’t suppress it. Process it. Let it out in a positive way. Trapped emotions stay within the body.

If you don’t catch a tick when it first latches on, it won’t take long to tell lol. Ticks start to itch like hell after a day or two, and when they become engorged they become what I can only describe as the size of a grape.
Use bug repellant and wear long, tucked in clothes to prevent them. Then, go enjoy the outdoors.

I ve been on a health journey myself, so i completely understand what you meant by quitting bad habits i used to drink , i quit drinking when my son was born in 08, caffeine & eating became my replacement for drinking after i was pounding a 2 liter a day so eventunally i ve gotten away from caffeine & overeating too mostly cause mylasia❤ & my son i wanna be healthy for them

As much as I love nature walks in the woods and trails, if there is one thing about them I really don't like, it is trying to avoid parasitic bugs and crawlies. Mainly leeches, mosquitoes, spiders, ticks, and jumping jack or bull ants. Of course, I can wear repellent and take precautions, but that doesn't make me any less wary.
Just walk through two separate bushes, the ticks will teleport onto you.

speaking of ticks gross story
I was mountain biking in earlyish spring and I had to bail off my bike and landed in a little ditch sorta thing that was dense with foliage and whatnot. It was a rough landing so I took a minute to process, and when I got up I noticed I had a few ticks on me. Thankfully I was with a friend so he could see that on my back there were probably over 100 ticks. I booked it to this stream that was further down the hill and just jumped in and got them off.
I have a ritualistic habibt of checking myself everytime I'm done riding now 😂

Rift, do you ever pack heat when you go out in the wilderness, and are you ever frightened of wildlife attacks or anything…? I know I’d be afraid of tick attacks, but especially whatever may be lurking out there… whether it be black bear, or skinwalker 😮 👀

Yes its true that we have to fight everyday wherever you are from, physically and mentally. I have to fight everyday living in Myanmar knowing that things could go wrong anytime which I or most of us have no control of. I think Stoicism has helped me a lot overcoming many things physically and mentally and overall to be a better person.
