      I once prayed that exact same prayer, I also asked "God" for the ability to memorize "his" word accurately and clearly so as to be able to defend "his" word and to boldly proclaim it whenever an opportunity arose to do so. . . . .That prayer request never ever came to fruition.

    I also didn't realize this until recently, the bible makes the claim that God is love, and I dont remember the verse exactly, but it goes along the lines that if you love each other, then you love God. I will have to look it up, and that made me realize that love is the presence of God, pretty amazing feeling! hehe.

    The whole of chapter 18 of the book of Ezekiel tells us that no one can die for someone else's sin. Ezekiel teaches us that all we have to do for God's forgiveness is to stop doing the Bad and start doing the Good, and God will forgive us. Nowhere does it say that we have to have a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins.

From then on, I said, My goodness, I cast my own spells, I've done witchcraft (both white magic & black magic) , but none of them (NONE) could come as close to what has just happened and experienced at that moment. Heal me instantly! From then on, I did my own reading/researching. That's how I learned of Jesus, & how I've grown 2 love Him, because I see the works that He did while He was here on earth. I know all of your arguments because I have used them all, and they all fall flat on their face when confronted with the reality of the Creator of all things.

    The point I make over and over, is that if Catholics and Protestants use the same Bible and both think the other is going to Hell - a big claim and issue - then how can know who is right? Todd says God is three distinct persons but one God. I agree with that , I think. I had a problem with explaining or defending that aspect of Christianity. I didn't know the answer when Muslims would say that Christianity is a pagan religion because we have three Gods, the father, the son and the holy spirit. I prayed and thought about it and the conclusion that I came up with or was given (kinda the same thing since God gives us everything we have) is this. Mankind is made up of three parts. We all have a mind, body and spirit. Since we are created in Gods image , God must have those same three parts as well. Except they would be described as the father , the son and the holy spirit. Just as I am one man but having three parts. Anyone have an opinion on this? I would like to know what you think.

    • @pacentho8042
      @pacentho8042 Před 8 lety +3

      +qynsar You know what's also cool is that reality literally reflects God.
      Mankind is made in God's image: Well man-kind just so happens to have 3 distinct persons foundationally. Man, Woman, Child. They are 3 distinct persons, but of 1 body called The Family. 3 yet 1, just as God is 3 yet 1.
      The Son of God is the one who defeats death and represents everlasting life. What happens when a son is born in the family? He can carry on his father's legacy even after the father's death. So in this sense, the father lives THROUGH the son, thus allowing the father by proxy, to conquer death and continue to live. Just as God the Father used Christ to conquer death. A son being born of his father to continue his legacy is like a shadow of the true son(Jesus Christ) being born of the true father(God the Father). The son inherits the authority of his father after death just as Christ inherits the throne.
      I've heard of people say we reflect God because we have mind, body, and spirit but i hadn't thought of why until now.
      *The father, the one who willed and planned everything into existence*= The Mind
      *The son, coming down from heaven as God in the flesh*= The Body
      *And of course the Holy Spirit,the invisible one dwelling inside the believers* = The Spirit.
      Makes sense to me.
      Islam is complete nonsense. The most appealing part about it is that it encourages you to give into your prideful human nature by advocating the rejoicing of slaying anyone who disagrees with you and feeling justified in doing so. If ever i could witness a demon convincing a man of something, it would be that his pride was a good thing.
      Even though i have a lot of pride and don't want to let go of it, there are times i've let it go and just told the whole truth about myself to people and i've always gotten a good response. What a coincidence, the Bible has many verses that instruct you that pride is bad and telling the truth is good. And my life experience shows me why.

    My main point is that the tree was the tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil. Until they ate from the tree, they could not possibly know that it was wrong. Then God allows the most tricky, conniving, evil bastard in the universe (supposedly) to try to trick them, and he expects 2 newborn innocents (for all intents) to outwit Satan and know that it is wrong to disobey God.It's worse than telling your 2 yr old to stay out of the cookie jar and sending Johnnie Cochran in to try to convince them its OK.

    Censorship runs rampant on the fundamentalist Christian sites. They don't WANT to hear opposing views and they don't want you to hear them either.. Most often if one can give a good argument, backed by facts that the preacher can't answer, you get blocked forthwith. One such owner of a site deletes any opposing posts, no matter how good they are and his page is filled mainly with his own preaching. I have yet to see a moderate Christian site where this kind of censorship is practiced.

    All he asks, is repentance (turn from sin) and put your trust in Him. He paid your fine.

    Instead, he's turned off replies so he never has to see them or respond to them. He wants to be able to say stuff, but not defend stuff. He's the online equivalent of the guy sitting with his hands over his ears, yelling, "I can't hear you!" And then prides himself on thinking he's intellectually one up on his opponents.

      It's "God breathed" according to holy scripture. We Christians believe that the Holy Spirit spoke through the men who wrote each book. With all the different authors, there is not one mistake -- not one contradiction, not one lie. Because God is infallible and cannot lie (because of his Holiness), we believe that the Bible is then infallible because it is not written by men, but by God, through men. Hope that makes sense :)

  • @Stianchez

    I saw your post as two questions.
    1# Original Sin
    2# Why should I be punished?
    To answer your first claim #1 I would answer that you have a free will to do as you wish, no one is forcing you to sin, but if you are argueing why you were placed on earth in the first place, and rather not the presence of God, then what is unfair about recieving a free gift of salvation to get back to God without doing works for it? I really dont see whats unfair here looking at the final outcome.
    Do you?

  • @trenton9
    @trenton9 Před 12 lety

    It's not my concept, nor would I describe sin as a concept, but a law of God, or rather, the void of God's moral law. God is a spiritual force of absolute perfection. To walk in His laws is to seek after His perfection. Walking outside His moral law, we walk outside His light and into spiritual darkness. That's where sin thrives - outside of God's presence.
    Just as the smallest light creates a barrier against the night, so too does God's light create a barrier which sin can't stand before.

    Based on what I believe. Let me try to answer your question fully.
    God is love, everytime you feel love, you are actually feeling the presence of God. When God created adam and Eve, it was out of love. However, he also had to give them free will because without free will they would merely be robots, acting upon commands. If God asks you, do you love me? They would just like 1+1=2 say yes.
    Thus they had to have free will, but to have free will you also need the option to choose(the tree).

      Nathan Phillips I'm saying things that I have heard him say (either in THIS video or in OTHER videos). So, no, I'm NOT saying things like I know what he is thinking. I'm saying things that I have heard him saying (at one time or another). And, he is a very hateful man. And, you cannot tell this so much by listening to this video. Look up some other videos that he has done.

    • @NP2494
      @NP2494 Před 8 lety +1

      I've seen other videos, plenty in fact. He may come off as hateful or bigoted to people, but I've found no fault in anything he's said in regards to scripture. His ministry is not love or respect for one another (and I know that's what most people want), his ministry is Jesus is the way. If he thinks he has all the answers it's because he understands the scriptures. He tells people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.
      Every objection people had against what he was saying was irrelevant to the point why he's sharing the word, he's called them rabbit trails and he doesn't directly address them on purpose. Disrespectful? Depends on your perspective. I believe his goal is to win people to Christ, not prove he's smart or any other prideful reason.

    • @davidsimons1832
      @davidsimons1832 Před 8 lety

      Nathan Phillips Sorry, but he is NOT going to win people by acting the way that he does (all mean, rude, hateful, arrogant, a "know it all," FULL of pride, etc., etc., etc,. And, Jesus said that His Gospel WAS to be about love. In fact, Jesus's GREATEST commandment was that we DO *love* one another. John 13:34. And, not even once did Jesus say to act like you're a "know it all." He never once said that you were to act all hateful, arrogant, or proud. In fact, He taught AGAINST these things. So, yeah, it sort of looks THIS guy is preaching ANOTHER gospel (which Jesus also talked about and warned us of). He said that in the last days, people WOULD preach another gospel (doctrines demons, He said). And, if THIS guy's goal is to "win people to CHRIST," then shouldn't HE be preaching Christ and Christ alone?!!? And, act Christ-like?!!? Well, yeah, he ought to. But, he isn't. And, you said so, yourself. You finally admitted that HE came across as being that way. And, he preaches against gay people a lot (and homosexuality). Did Jesus, according to the man-made bible, EVER (even once?) say that gays were horrible people?!!? Did He EVER say anything against homosexuality?!!? NO!!! He never even mentioned homosexuality. And, you'd think that *if* homosexuality was such a "sinful" thing, Jesus WOULD have said *something* about it. Wouldn't ya?!!? Yep, I would think so, too. But, He didn't. And, what about David and Jonathon?!!? The bible says that David was "a man after GOD'S own heart." And, the bible says that David loved Jonathon MORE than he ever loved a woman. It says that "David's love for Jonathon SURPASSED the love that he had for women." And, it goes on to say that David and Jonathon made a pledge of loyalty - a covenant - to each other that was to last till the day that either of them OR both of them died. And, it WAS to include David and Jonathon's children to ensure that they were well taken care of until they were able to take care of themselves. And, yes, David and Jonathon had previous relationships with women. So, no, they were NOT gay. BUT, they DID love each other (both the SAME sex, ya notice?) MORE THAN they ever loved women. And, the word that the bible used, here, was "covenant." And, this word, "covenant" was used elsewhere, throughout the bible, and meant "marriage." It has been used for heterosexual marriage quite a few times. But, I'm sure you are going to say that when it was used for David and Jonathon, the meaning all of a sudden changed and no longer meant marriage?!!? Hahaha!!! Yeah, you cannot change the rules in the middle of the game. And, please, please, please, let's stay consistent. That would be nice!!! Most bible scholars will tell you that the man-made bible does NOT condemn homosexuality whatsoever, but that it DOES condemn gay rape (as in Sodom and Gomorrah), gay prostitution (as in male cultic prostitution, shrine, etc., ), and gays who are trying to go AGAINST nature (trying to "become" something that they are not). And, I would agree with what the bible says. Rape is DEFINITELY a no no. So is prostitution. And, I am also of the belief that one should NOT try to go against WHO they are, naturally (their TRUE sexual orientation). The ONLY time I have ever tried to go against MY personal sexual orientation was when I was involved in my former Church (if you want to call it that - I would be more inclined to call it a cult - a hateful cult). And, yeah, unfortunately, I wasted quite a few years in that mess. But, one day, I woke up and realized that life was short and that ya need to just be HAPPY with WHO God made you to be (my TRUE self). And, He made me to realize that God does NOT make any junk and that we are ALL loved and cared for. If not by men, then by God, Himself. My bible says that "God is NOT a respecter of persons." I tend to agree with that, too. The ONLY problems I really have with the bible is that it condones a LOT of things that I would *never* condone. Things like rape, incest, slavery, the stoning of children (and others), murder (even abortion and genocide), lying, and all sorts of other HORRIBLE things that I consider evil and immoral. Okay, I guess I have said my piece. Hope ya have a good night, man. And, God bless!

      +David Simons That was a long comment. I can't reply to everything, but I'm telling you Todd is in fact preaching Christ.
      I said *he may* come across that way, not *I think he is a bigot*. He's not, that's just what people's opinions are, and they're wrong. By the way, who was Jesus to everyone? He accepted and loved everyone as they were and condemned no one--well that's the Jesus that a lot of people perceive in their minds and it's a fallacy. The Pharisees were self-righteous to Him and so are much of us today! He condemns as well. You may know John 3 16, but do you know John 3 17-20? Yes, God loves you more than you would comprehend, but be afraid of His judgment because the gateway, as He said, is narrow.
      You can't tailor Jesus or anything in the Bible to what you believe. There are people who tell themselves "this sin and that sin is okay. Society says so and times have changed!" Can society send you to hell? No, but God can and He hates sin no matter how small. No sin is worse than any other in His eyes. Homosexuality is shameful according to Romans 1. Sorry to tell you... it's bad. However, so is adultery, lusting, lying, murder, and stealing. Sin is sin, and no person is better than another because all have sinned. Our priority is not to just ask forgiveness, but make an effort to turn from that sin as well because it can keep us from God and would be terrible if we die and have unrepented sin.

    There were two trees: Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He MUST NOT BE ALLOWED to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." 23:So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

    Actually, not sure what you are talking about because I have a very DEEP relationship with God. Repented of my sins, been baptized in Jesus' Name, got the Holy Ghost (and speak in tongues EVERY SINGLE DAY). I live a very devoted life to God. So, I'm not really sure why you think I will "never accept the Lord." I've already accepted the Lord into my life a long, long time ago. And, worship Him all off and on all throughout the day. I listen primarily to Gospel music.

    It is impossible to identify anything as not matching what you do not know. A lie is anything that does not equal Truth. Therefore, without knowing and accepting Truth as being Truth, one cannot discern a lie.

    First, apply what I wrote to any particular truth and the reasoning of what I wrote still stands. Second, I don't care whether you agree with me or not; the logic of what I wrote still stands whether you, in your tin-plated, self-anointed "authority" agree with it or not. And I already told you that your questions have been non-sequitur. I don't bother with non-sequiturs.

    Mr. Friel I love your work, but I take issue with one proposal you make here, that is, that God "came up with a plan" for our salvation. This would imply that He 'reacted' to our predicament, when it is clear from a Scriptural standpoint, rather, that He PURPOSED to do His will from eternity (Rom 8:29; Eph. 1:4; 2Thes. 2:13; especially 1Peter 1:20). To suggest that God "reacts" to anything is to deny Him omniscience, not to mention sovereignty.

      Creating anything has planning to it. God did it in a sense that "this is what I'm going to do and this is how it will go down" and not in a reaction to predicament. I'm sure Todd would agree with you. It may have come across in a different way but I've watched videos of him explaining what you just did. God bless

    It has been my experience that comments are blocked or the person is blocked completely because they can offer something that contradicts what they are preaching. I've had it happen quite often.
    I really don't like the cursing and name calling that goes on and generally just mark it as spam. If someone is offering facts that differ from what the preacher is saying, then it shouldn't be marked as spam nor removed, but this happens all the time.

    If you had a genuine question, born out of a desire to know, it would not be a non-sequitur. Instead, though, all you are doing is trying to exult yourself by the exposure of one you think to be beneath you, when you are the one on the bottom.
    "When a person has-whether they knew it or not-already rejected the Truth, by what means do they discern a lie?"
    Of course, you'll never understand that, either, (books could be written on it, but even PhD's fail to properly parse it) because of pride.

    I wish apologists would drop references to sin when attempting to prove the existence of god. Sin only exists if god exists. If the existence of sin is contingent up on the existence of god then god's existence has to be demonstrated without reference to sin.

    Todd Friel is a real trip. He has an ELITIST mentality. And, that's one thing I cannot stand. Probably why I can't stand most so-called Christians, too, because most of them seem to have that same attitude. "We are better than everyone else. Only WE have the real truth and only WE are TRUE Christians. You are a mess and need us (and God, of course) to save you. And, WE have "arrived" so to speak. That's their mentality. And, yeah, MOST thinking people would not want ANYTHING to do with them.
