I work at a dialysis clinic as a tech and I wish the nurses were as passionate as you are while at work. Its so stressful working alongside with people that arent motivated and happy to be there.

Right! The employees don’t want to teach you, but complain that they’re short staffed. It’s like they want you to already know or have experience when you come on board. So selfish, because even THEY were new at some point too! 🙄

@@user-we9bc7ee6i I'm going through this right now and the good thing is I come from the South side of Chicago and I tell it like it is! I tell them I turned down 3 bilingual RN to come here and if your nurses and technicians don't want to train me I can go back to acutes where I made more money. Next thing I know I'm shadowing a PCT at another location 😊

I'm a chronic dialysis nurse in the Philippines. My habit is to prepare ahead of time, whatever it is. Because in chronic setting, I already know most of the patients so I know their heparin dosage, their access, their needs, and even their personalities. I missed my patients though. I resigned for now to prepare for my NCLEX! 🥰

They made NCLEX a lot more difficult now!

Hi, thank you for your video. I am an Outpatient RN in Australia, but I had an interview on Wednesday for the position of Dialysis Nurse in one of the satellite hospitals. As part of the preparation for my interview, I watched your videos and get some ideas about what it is like to be working as a dialysis nurse. Hope I can get this job and share my work experience as a new dialysis nurse with you in the near future.

@@dialysisnurselindsey Hi, Lindsey. Yes, I am on the list which means I will be called for a training (4-6week) someday next year 😀 If I was transferred to Dialysis unit as soon as possible, that would be much bette. But I am still so excited for my new chapter. In the meantime, I will watch your videos and prepare to be a good Dialysis nurse. Thank you!

Are you new to dialysis? I come acutes to clinic and the employees expected me to hit the floor because I have experience. But I shut that down real quick and told them I will take as long as I feel comfortable to on the floor it is MY license and not yours! Since I come from acutes it is overwhelming. What are you having issues with?

I got the job. Been there for almost 3 months. It’s overwhelming, but I’m learning. I feel like there is not enough time to learn both pct job, and rn job. I am learning about blood returns and rinse back(pct), but have not cannulated. Not sure I’ll be able to
