- What truck did you think was going to win? Very surprised by the results, but certainly can't complain. Now we just need to find a 5.0.....

Ford, F-150, 6.2L V8, 5.4L V8, Drag Race, 2009-2014 F1-150, 12th gen F-150, Ford Raptor. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I think 10.8 is accurate
Man that 6.2 just sounds so good!
Thank you so much!

Your videos convinced me to go pick up a 2012 6.2L Platinum over the weekend! Nice to see what these things are capable of!
Appreciate it that means a lot!! You’re gonna love it!
Thank you!
did you ever do 4.10 gears ?
I have a 2011 Ford F-150 XLT 6.2 L V-8 2w I have 284,000 miles And right now as I'm posting this they are rebuilding my transmission with the upgrades I could get.
That’s awesome man!!
Its either a 2013 or a 2014 because in 2011 and 2012 the 6.2L was only available in the Lariat and above trims.
Old 5.4 didn't do too bad considering the difference in output.
The 5.4 is basically the inverse of a 6.4 pstroke. Here for a long time not a good time. I've had a 3v and a 2v. Had shitloads of miles but they were slooooow
Great video, I wonder if you could do a video or maybe a review of the truck, reliability, what kind of maintenance you've done over your time of ownership and if you'd recommend buying one. That f150 with the 6.2 is a rarity.
I can definitely do that! Great idea!
@@CovertGarage I appreciate that and you bring great energy to the videos keep at it and with time you'll make it big time I have no doubt about it.
@@Sonik7034 Thank you so much I really appreciate it!! I love making videos and have no plans on stopping!
Could be the 6R80 acting up….I have an Expedition EL with the 5.4 and it doesn’t downshift like it used to which makes it lag. I did a lot of work to it to keep it alive (new torque converter, fluid, filter, solenoids) and it shifts good and locks up when it’s supposed to again but it’s not as fast as it used to be. Occasionally when I drop the hammer it won’t shift to 1st or 2nd and really lags.
Also love the 6.2 man, if they offered that in the Expedition I’d buy one. But my next one is going to be an EcoBoost my only choice haha
That’s just the way 5.4’s are. Very doggy motors. I’ll never own another one. Truck itself is great, terrible motor though.
Should do the 5.0. Which part of Texas are you at?
I’m up around Austin
Yeah I own a 2011 5.0L FX4 Supercab, I'd like to see how it would compare, I know for a fact it'll outrun a 5.4L truck, but moreso I wanna see how it compares to the 6.2L, I suspect they'd be very close.
@@nathanmcdonald610 I think they’ll be very close!
@@nathanmcdonald610 I to have a 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it with 141,000 miles and still going strong.
Did he mention what gears he had im the 5.4 10 sec 0-60s sound reasonable. My 2003 Impala with a 3.4 did it in 8.5 to 9 sec with a 180 hp V6 my 2012 impala does 0-60 in 5.8 to 6.4 depending on conditions. My 1978 Monte I had with a TH350 3 speed trans and a rebuilt 73 model 350 with basic mods took a good 9.5 to 10 seconds. And my 91 S10 with a 4.3 rated at 165 with 4wd and 5 speed took a solid 10.5 to 11 seconds. It's all about torque horsepower curb weight and gearing!
He’s got factory gearing still so I believe 3.53!
You’ve never raced a f150 lariat then cause I’m tellin u somehow the one I have flies and it’s stock
Lariat is a trim
same 😂😂
So your telling me my 98 gmc with the 350 is 2 seconds slower than a modded 6.2
2 seconds is equal to about 2 miles. Huge difference in the racing world.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
put some damn e85 in that 5.4 5 star sucks they have very mild tunes
If we had any around here we’d give it a shot!
I once raced my buddy 2010 5.4L V8 with my 2016 Silverado 4.3L V6 and I Passed him. Lol a 285hp vs beat a 310hp V8 lol
Modern v6 engines are pretty dang efficient. 5.4 is kinda a dog🤣
You're probably lighter, better gears and faster transmission
@@sategllib2191 Mines actually a tad bit heavier. The 6.2 is a really heavy motor. We both have 3.73 gearing but you are correct about the transmission!
Ur truck sounds like an svt raptor
Thanks! It’s got the exact same engine!
If his truck is flex fuel try running e85
We just have trouble finding it in our area
6.2 its rock solid
NOOOOOOO!
Monica!!!!!
Poor 5.4
The 5.4 makes 310 hp and 365 lb ft of torque on 87 octane. 320 hp and 390 lb ft of torque on E85. His might need a new filter or something because the 5.4 isn't that slow.
The 5.4 isn't the fastest but very reliable surprisingly. I've seen them go 250k easy.
Yeah, the 2009-2010 5.4L / 6-Speed trucks usually hovered right around 8.0 seconds 0-60 when stock, His truck running nearly 11 seconds 0-60 indicates somethings wrong, perhaps he just needs a tune up or something, but it should be faster than that. With that said, I no doubt in my mind the 6.2L truck would walk the 5.4L like a dog despite the added weight from the bigger tires and lift. The power difference is just to great between the two, a stock 2011 6.2L Crew Cab F-150 would do 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds.
@@tylerspecht7453 it also depends on the axle ratio it has. A truck with a 3.73 is going to be faster than a truck with a 3.31. Yours might have a smaller ratio than what was tested.
@@tylerspecht7453 A lot of it is elevation dependent. My 2011 F-150 5.0L FX4 Supercab runs about a 6.8 at best and somewhere in the mid 7's at worst also stock by the way. 11 seconds seems pretty slow for a 2009-2010 5.4L truck though, I used to own a 1990 F-150 with the old 5.0L Windsor and it would run about 10 flat and that was with 190hp and an old 4-Speed AOD transmission.
U do have a point , my 04 does about 9-high 8s. So something wrong
I have had both. 2wd Same 3.73ls gears. The 6.2L is much quicker.
I counted 10 seconds
Idk about fast but the 6.2 is definitely more durable
The truth👆🏻
I feel like a 5.0 would of been a better comparison to the 6.2
Gonna be comparing them soon hopefully!
The answer to every one of those questions has one answer. The 5.4L is a shit motor, plain and simple. Im a V8 guy, my f150 has the 5,0, my 66 mustang has the 289. Ive had f150s with the 351W or the 4.6L, I will take the 3.5 before I go with a 5.4. Its just a shit motor, plain and simple. Works great as a boat anchor though...
The 5.4 blew out 2 spark plugs at the 60 foot line 😅
@dennisburger1220 uh so it doesn’t have 8 spark plugs it can blow out? I don’t see the number of valves being relevant at all.
@dennisburger1220 you have no idea what a joke or sarcasm is. Maybe somebody will enlighten you today, Merry Christmas
@dennisburger1220 who had any doubts about a 6.2 being better than ANY 5.4? I was playing on the sheer ridiculousness of premise of such a video
5.4 was trash of an engine
On what planet? The tritons were pretty darn good if you changed the oil once in awhile
