Nah at the end of the film we see him skiing down the first 2 mountains, but doesn’t come up the first implying it actually did run out of money and stopped working
Actually we can see it’s a number ten so it’s maybe pence, and the explanation for that he lasts longer without coins than before is maybe because Wallace put in a 50 pence coin
Offical Wallace and Gromit Wiki says it was a 10P coin, only good for 5 minutes as the cooker cost 2P per minute to use. So in total Wallace deposited two 10P coins for a total of 20P giving the cooker a grand total of 10 minutes of consiousness collectively.
British Military Archive basically near the end you see the cooker on the moon hills and then don’t see them for a second before cutting to Wallace and Gromit in the rocket. TL;DR the dispenser thingy ran out and it’s basically dead since nobody’s been on the moon since this short
I rewatched this for the first time in about a decade and I had the same thought. With that said I do feel sorry for it in a way clearly not intended. Like it's existence depends on Wallace's spare change and it wants to ski because it's the only thing it knows about Earth now. I mean it enjoys itself so fine but think of all the things it doesn't know about Earth that it could have enjoyed.

Jokes on you, folks! The robot is alive and well in Star Wars Visions' "I am your mother". You can see him in the background before the race begins, interacting with other droids, probably talking about how fun skiing is.

It wouldn't make sense though, after the 2nd 10p was inserted, the robot moved around much longer considering it had all that time to make the Skis 🎿 so my theory is many people travel to the cheese moon, why else is there a robot up there anyway
From the moment we see the robot it acts like some sort of police force (police truncheon, parking ticket etc) but in my headcanon I believe it was built by wendolene’s father as he is the only inventor we see other than Wallace and Wallace clearly didn’t build it
It was probably put on the moon in advance of a secret moon landing the government of Great Britian was planning in response to the USA and USSR. But the UK government lost funding for the space program so only sent the cooker. The cooker would have helped the astronauts survive and was only operable to British astronauts who would have known to bring change and the robot was given a truncheon to fight off the Communists if they intercepted it. The robot probably thought Wallace was a Soviet because his rocket ship was red and Wallace took the cheese without paying for it.
During the Space Race in the 1960's the world's super powers were sending things to the moon, the Soviets sent rovers, the USA sent Neil Armstrong, and England sent a sentient coin-operated stove. It's well documented.
