Where would be best to keep them once they develop nice roots and are in their pots? I have no greenhouse but a sunroom in my house and a garage that does not freeze. SUE MILLER Hi Sue, it wouldn’t be necessary to use a warming mat any time in the summer, only in the spring or fall. Keep them in the shade until rooted then treat them exactly as you would others, only obviously in smaller pots until they get bigger 😉David

Regal pelargoniums will not come true from seed but if you got hold of some you may get some great colours. The only place that I know of that sells Regal seed is Fibrex Nursery in the UK

Hi, For the first week or so after taking keep them in the shade but relatively bright but then move them to a sunny windowsill. Zonals should root in about three-four weeks when the temperature remains above about 20c. David
Yes it’s a popular question. Pelargoniums are tender perennials and proper Geraniums are hardy herbaceous perennials. Zonal pelargoniums have long been wrongly named Geraniums as when the original plants were brought to the UK horticulturalists of the day classified them together with the hardy geraniums under the umbrella name of geranium. This was later changed to split the tender pelargoniums from the hardy geraniums under a new genus Geraniaceae. Unfortunately over the centuries the naming of the tender pelargonium group has commercially always stuck with geranium, particularly for the zonals. So it is the fault of the large commercial nurseries that insist on selling them as geraniums. Hope this helps. David

Hi, I’ve no idea what tablet your are listing. If you take cuttings properly you shouldn’t really need hormone powder as there is plenty of hormone in the joint that you cut from. Most of them have a fungicide which is why I use them with Regals. David
You will usually see fresh green growth at the growing point and use a method where you can see the roots growing out of the bottom of whatever pot you may use for them.
It does take some work, I can only suggest you follow some the past videos. I'm unsure where you are from but realistically you need to live in a temperate climate to get pelargoniums to exhibition standard. David

( Hot California heat and Sun) husband didn't follow my instructions. 🥺💔💔!!!! I am devastated! Depressed. Years of collecting, caring,loving and Dreaming. It's a nightmare ! I'm Crushed ! ...Starting over AGAIN. Has been slow and disappointing. 🥀 Do you by chance sell cuttings or know of someone who does ? I am a amateur. Just a small back ,with a tiny greenhouse I haven't put together. Still in the box. I do have sunny windows!
Eiko Q Dupree Hi, thanks and I’m sorry to here of your plight. Unfortunately the US has very strict import laws on live plant material from Europe and you basically can’t import plant stuff from us. Have a look at Geraniaceae.com. It’s a nursery run by an Australian woman based in Martin county in your state. They sell quite a good range of Pelargoniums. Good luck. David
