When I was 17, my younger sister was dating an older boy who was in college. My Mother would not let her go out with him unless I went along. Her boyfriend was always setting me up with one of his friends to keep me occupied. My sister did not marry her boyfriend but I married my blind date!! This year we will celebrate our 45 th wedding anniversary!!!!! Plus we dated 5 years before we got married!!!!

Angela, loved your story so much!! I was a "damsel in distress" at my now husband's gas station. He was the mechanic and should've already left for the night. My car was making an awful noise and I was afraid to drive it home. I went and talked to him about my car while he was working on another car. When he finally looked at me I had a weird feeling that he was who I had always been searching for. He drove me home and asked to see me that night with a group of his friends. Before he came back and got me he called his parents and friends and told them he had found his wife. We got married a year later and have been together 33years now. I met my husband at a singles Sunday school class at the Methodist church. We have both been married before. We have been married 48 years in May.
What a great story about meeting your husband! Actually my Mom met my husband, Bob at the gym and kept telling me that she really thought I would like him. However I was dating someone at the time. When I broke up with the guy that I was seeing, she asked if she could invite Bob for dinner. I said yes and the rest is history. We will be married 34 years on April 22nd. Bob and my Dad are best friends too! I'm forever grateful to my Mom for her persistence as well as for knowing the kind of man that would be a wonderful husband and father. Mom knows best!

I met my husband in 1980. It was a blind date set up by two friends. They failed to tell him that I had two children and a dog....he comes to the door to pick me up and my 12 year old daughter answers the door (he's 26 and thinking she's awfully young, even though she looked at least 16) along with the dog (who hated men). The dog is all over him and was being petted and adoring him! Then I appear. The four of us went to dinner and we ended up talking until 3 in the morning. Later at a Tupperware party I found out from the hostess who went to school with him how much younger he was than me....of course, he knew I was older because of my kids and life experiences.......I thought that might end things but we have now been married 43 years! Dogs are pretty smart! Writing from the village of DeLuna.
I met my husband at jury duty. We were in a case for a month. Never talked but we definitely talked once we got to deliberations. The rest is history!

How I met my husband… I was working at a bank and he came in with a friend to cash his check. He did not have an account at the bank, but his friend did. He went to the teller next to me to cash his check and she was fairly new so she asked me if she could cash it and I said yes it is a payroll check but you’ll have to charge him two dollars if he doesn’t have an account, he secretly asked the teller if I was married and she said no. He then stepped over to my window and said “would you like to go out sometime?” and I said “I don’t even know you” 🤣🤣🤭 but I will tell you when he walked in the bank. I certainly noticed him, because he is very good looking. He said the same thing when he walked in the bank and saw me. So we did go out and the rest is history ❤️ We love our story and how we met and he always says that was the best two dollars he had ever spent. In November of this year we will be married 34 years, three children, five granddaughters and our first grandson coming in May. God is good all the time! ❤️

What a fun story! My husband and I met at the bottom of a swimming pool! We were at a party our senior year of high school. Everyone was pushing people in the pool. He and I ended up on the diving board and as I was pushing him in, he pulled me with him. We met at the bottom and held hands as we came to the top. That was 39 years ago and we are still together. We’ve been married 34 years, have 3 children, 2 daughter in law’s and our first grandchild on the way.

I met my husband at the roller rink as well. It was lady’s choice and I am told I stole him off another girl, which I was not aware of 😂. I was in grade 9 he was in 10. We started dating seriously after high school and have been married for 42 years.

I met my husband at a National Junior Achievement convention when I had to crawl over his legs in a miniskirt to get to an empty seat. That was pretty much all it took. 😂
My husband and I were in homeroom together since 7th grade. We were always side by side in our school yearbook. We truly never dated then, but we did have crushes on each other. We graduated from high school and went separate ways. 35 yrs later, we got together via Facebook. He still lived in our hometown, and I had moved to S. Carolina. He came to visit me, and the rest is history. We've been together for 12 years and married for 11! We call ourselves "homeroom honeys"!! ❤

I met my husband at a bar. That was forty seven years ago. A girl I worked with went to school with him. And we went out and ran into him at the bar. She introduced me. He had longer hair and a beard. When we got married about seven months later he still had the beard. It was quite some time when he shaved his beard off. And I was afraid I wouldn’t like it when he did. But he really looked much better without it. And we’re still married today. Have two daughters and have seven grandkids and a great grandson. We will celebrate our forty six years in July.

My hubby and I were set up at our church picnic. Neither one of us knew until later. He waited a week before calling me for a date. Our first date was miniature golf and it was a blast, and to this day he also remembers what I wore and I beat him in score. Now married 24 years.

Fun story!!! My Hubs and I met in French class in college. 😊 We will have been married 54 years this June. Our 50th anniversary was in 2020...yep! Right at the start of lockdown. I had invisioned a wonderful celebration but it wasn't happening. No hotels open, no nice restaurants open...we ordered pizza! In 2021 we were still in a partial lockdown but we managed to celebrate in 2022...our 52nd! We combined all 3 years. Lol! Who would have thought in 1970 we'd be in a pandemic lockdown for our 50th in 2020. But you know you are married everyday so all the days count. ❤
I know, there were a lot of celebrations that had to be put on hold in 2020,2021. It stunk but you found a way to celebrate when you could. Congratulations!! 😊
I was bar-hopping with my girlfriend from martial arts class. We drove past another dojo that happened to be having a party. I saw my husband standing out front and was immediately attracted to him. I told her I needed to meet him and, together, we crashed their karate party and felt absolutely no shame in eating their potluck food (even though we brought none). That was 32 years ago and, to this day, I have no idea where I had the nerve to do such a thing!

All the stories I am reading are so heartwarming. I love happy endings. I met my husband at church. I was determined to find me a nice Christian boy and my family decided to drive a little further from our home to visit a new congregation. We were greeted immediately by my future husband, but I was very disappointed to see him go sit by a cute little blonde during the worship service. The following Sunday I got there early for Bible class and I didn’t see him. I decided to set the bait and I sat towards the back leaving the aisle seat vacant, (hoping that he would walk in and sit next to me). And that is exactly what happened. He walked in and came and sat down right next to me! I was so tickled that my scheme worked. He took the bait and I hooked him. We have now been married for 47 years. I am so grateful to God that He provided me a good Christian man. We are both retired and are devoted to worshipping and working with our local church of Christ. We love to go out in our little RV and have a passion for baseball along with our sons…Let’s go Dodgers! Life is good and we are blessed!!
What a cute story & adorable couple! I met my husband on a church singles retreat to a beach in Florida. I wasn't going to go due to my grandfather passing before we left. Due to the memorial being delayed, my mom wanted me to go to take my mind off the loss and my stressful job. We met and became good friends. Spent the summer running around with a group of us as friends then a few months later we started dating. Been married for 28 years! Love your top!

My husband came right to my front door- he was a cable tv installer at the time and I was the new girl in town. I followed him around while he was working, and grilled him on what there was to do around town. At the end of the install he said he had to leave for a bit and get a part. Actually he went home- he lived right around the corner- and asked his mom and best friend if he should ask me out. Yes he did, I went, and the rest is history- it'll be 37 years this August. 😀
I met my husband when I came to NY from Dublin Ireland on vacation in 1994. We met in a bar in NYC on my first day, and almost 30 years and 2 sons later, we're still together. He followed me back to Ireland and convinced me to move to NY. It hasn't been all plain sailing, but we love each other and wouldn't change a thing😍

I loved hearing your story! I met my husband at his 10 year high school reunion. We attended the same high school, though he was a year ahead of me. Anyways, I happened to be at a venue to play some pool with friends and this was where his reunion was taking place. I remember he and his friend came up to chat to me and my friends. When I first noticed him, I recognized him as being a guy who was once in one of my classes. We never spoke to each other in class, though I remember him being funny. Anyways, he was really nice to talk to and by the end of the evening, he gave me his business card to get together for a date. The rest is history. We’ve been together for 27 years (married for 23 years) and have four wonderful children. ❤

I met my husband at the auto body shop that my friend at the time owned. I worked during the 2nd week of August at the shop and I hung out with him at lunchtime every day. We hit it off right away, by the end of the week he asked me out on a date on Saturday. By the end of the date I knew he was THE ONE. It took about 9 years of dating, but we were married in June of 1996. We will be celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary this year as well!

Such a cute story! You are both so nice together! It just show that you never know when love will find you! It helps to be best friends too. I met my husband in 1975 on Memorial Day. I was at the Park? beach with my two girlfriends, and we were wearing bathing suits! We started dating and it felt like we had always known each other. We were married for 45 years when he passed away. Thank You for sharing your sweet story!! Laughter keeps us together and young at heart! I hope that you have many more wonderful years together.

My husband’s brother met me a my friends party and told me I was a female version of his brother and we must meet. I agreed to a blind date at a sports bar. We will celebrated our 38 year anniversary in November.

I met my husband on a blind date - my coworker was trying to get me set up with him for a few months. Finally I said ok and we had dinner. He waited two days to call me again for the second date. On the second date, I told him we would just be friends. A few days went by and I really missed him and called him. This October we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary. 😂

Great story! My husband and I met through a friend/co-worker. She was dating a guy and wanted me to meet his roommate. She turned out to be a manipulative "frenemy" and even wrote him a letter ( he was on a 6-month Navy deployment) telling him what was wrong with our relationship! That really got us talking, and we moved in together when he came home. She's no longer a friend, and we've been married over 40 years!

Met my husband playing softball in the back empty lot of a cemetery that separated our streets(Philadelphia, PA). I was about to turn 12, he was 12 soon to be 13. We just celebrated 44 years of marriage(wed at 18 &19). Two beautiful children( girl & boy). We always tell people our’s was a dying relationship from the onset having started in a cemetery.

You brought back a memory. I screamed to my roommate as we looked out our dorm window and saw my new date approaching in a purple fringed suede vest and purple satin shirt. I don't think it ever would have worked for him and me, but the clothes did make a difference - not in a good way! Needless to say, it was the 1970s. It's fun laughing about those silly years!

My husband and I met at work. After dating a few months he said he thought we would get married in a couple years, I said I didn’t want to talk about it. Four months later, Valentines Day, I told him I was buying a house and if he wanted to have a say in the house we were getting married!😅. It worked. We found a house, got married 6 months later and it’s been almost 33 years.

This is a fun one! I met my husband on the highway in a traffic jam 😂. We both were driving with a friend in our car and our cars kept ending up next to each other as we creeped along the interstate. After much flirting and waving he rolled down his window ( it was the 90’s) and asked if we wanted to stop for a cocktail and apps at the next exit. We did and it ended up that we all were from Connecticut coming back from Vermont skiing! My girlfriend dated his friend for a bit, but he and I have been inseparable for 32 years. We even have a photo of me jumping in his arms in the parking lot that very night. When you know, you know ❤❤

Well…that friend was very cute, and very tall and so very nice! I was attracted, right away..🤭. I reminded myself I was engaged, but truly thought….i am going to marry this guy! I ended up breaking my engagement, but not because of Mark (the friend, and my husband). One thing I did not know at the time was that my fiancé read my letters to his friend. I first met my husband at church, and I had a short, curly perm which he hated it (so did I). 1.5 years later, we met again, my hair was straight and longer. He didn’t waste any time asking me out and we have been together ever since for 38 years.
Blind date in 1993; set up by my husband's ex girlfriend's mother ( I worked with the mom; still friends to this day 😁).

I met my husband because my sister dated his roommate. He asked me out and I told him no several times because I thought he was not my type. He was very persistent. I finally went out with him and it turns out he was just my type. We have finished each others sentences from day one. He is the best. We have been married 26 years.

I met my husband at McDonald's! He was the night manager while he was in college. I was 18 and would visit just to see him. He finally asked me out and we were engaged two months later. We have now been married for 58 years! So I guess I was right to persist. We have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Life is good. ❤
I met my hubby the first Sunday that we moved into our new church (the congregation had gotten so large and we had been going to different services). He was running late - the place was packed - the usher was going to seat him elsewhere but he saw that there was room next to me so he chose to sit beside me. We had to share a songbook - he has beautiful voice - me not so much. After the service, he walked me to my car and got my phone number - called that night and the rest is history - 39 years and we are still dancing and having fun.

I met my husband the very day after i saw him on a video his friend made and brought over to my friends house. I did not want to go out that day my friend persuaded me to go, this guy comes up to me and im like omg i just saw you on a video tape just yesterday. If i hadnt seen that tape i would not of gone i only went because i knew he was friends with my friend. He also said later when we were dating he went out that night and said to his friend i hope i meet a redhead, ive never dated a redhead before, and there i was.

Glad it all worked out for you two! Where's a picture of you guys back in the day with your long curly hair? I met my husband at Friendly's when we both worked there. He had already graduated from high school and I was going into my junior year. Although he'd gone to the same school I was attending, I'd never met him. When I saw we were getting a couple of new people on our staff, I looked him up in our yearbook. I wasn't really impressed. When he walked in the door the first time to work, I was already working. I saw him walk in, and thought to myself, "I'm going to marry this guy." Not sure why......I had a crush on another guy who'd worked there before I started and he wasn't the cutest guy I'd ever met or anything. I credit Divine Inspiration for helping me to know, so young, (I was 16) that he was someone worth getting to know and make a life with. Today he's much cuter, and we've been married for almost 45 years!

I met my husband at the Health Department picnic they had each year. I wasn’t going to go that year and my coworker said “You have to go you might meet your husband “. I replied yeah right ! if you went you got the afternoon off with pay otherwise you had to work. When I got there I saw him and kept asking if anyone knew who he was. No one did so our secretary went over to talk to him and he was interested in her but she was married. She told him see that girl over there-she wants to meet you. He had drank enough to come talk to me. He waited a week to call me and we went to see Tootsie. We have been married 38 years and have 3 sons.

I was a widow...after one yr. The walls felt like they were closing in, cause I would work & come home, no where else... Some girl friends were going to a dinner show, friends for over 20 yrs. On our way home, I told them it felt so good to laugh, had so much fun. One friend said, well I have a guy for you!!

Short story, he had a motorcycle trike & loved riding, we had a lot in common. So kind funny, loved to travel, he had a home in Az~Co. Both our grown up kids loved us together!❤ Been together 16 yrs!! I am so blessed

I met my husband in a Country & Western bar in 1990..he gave me his number..I called him from work on Monday & a woman answers...I ask if Bill is home...NO...I ask do you know when he'll be home...NO. So I crumpled up the piece of paper with his number on it & threw it in the trash BUT I couldn't stop thinking about him...my mind was possessed. About 3 weeks later me another friend went back to the same club & here he comes walking down the hall & I stepped in front of him & said "Do you remember me?" He says "Yes!" & we started talking & it was his sister that I had talked to & had also woken up that morning (she worked nightshifts) & 30 years later we still tease her that our marriage in 1993 almost didn't happen because of her! 😂

How I met my husband... I was 15 years old and staying at a family friends' house so I could stay in the same school while our new house was being built.
The 14 year old boy across the street was mowing the lawn, but decided to come over and introduce himself.
We became good friends, he asked me out on repeat and I always said no because I had a boyfriend.
We remained in touch when I moved (30 minutes away), and he'd sometimes ride his moped to come visit.
The summer before college, after a string of terrible boyfriends, I decided I was done dating. Instead, I wanted to spend time with friends. I called a few and suggested we spend the day at the beach and boardwalk.
My now husband said his hand was on the doorknob when I called. He said he normally wouldn't have answerd, but something told him to pick up the phone. He canceled his plans and drove to pick me up along with my other friends.
The whole time, I was thinking what a sweet guy he was and wondered why I couldn't find someone like him.
Ding. Ding. Ding.
We went to the movies that night and we had our first kiss. I saw fireworks and so did he.
We were engaged a year later and got married 2 months after my college graduation.
We have been together for 37 years and married for 32.❤
I met my husband because he owned a suit!! 😂 I was an 18 year old Freshman pledging a sorority. We were having a party and we needed some guys to serve the hors de ouvres. So one of our sisters went over to her brother's fraternity house, went on and said "who owns a suit?". My future husband was there and he said "I do". And he agreed to come serve. When I saw him, he was talking to one of his fraternity brothers who I'd met, and I realized I'd seen him at my regular ice skating rink so I went over to talk to them! That was 42 years ago! And we moved into our home in T.V. 2 days ago. 😊

I sat here smiling through your video. I met my husband at the singles class at a church. He was the only Asian guy there and I thought he must feel weird so I went to say hi. Love your story! 😊 My husband & I met at church. I had moved from MD to GA when I retired. Jim's wife of 54 years died of breast cancer soon after I arrived. I had been single since 1995 after 22 years of marriage ended in divorce. Neither of us was looking to remarry. I was renting a condo at Hollywood Beach for 6-8 months for 2 years then back to GA with my daughter & family & seeing Jim at church. We were both active in the Senior group and in 2018 God decided to kick our friendship into a love story neither of us EVER expected. Our 6th anniversary is this July! Guess what Angela? We're in TV right now for all of April looking for a house! Think we found one today in The H of F! So gorgeous. Just re-watched your video on buying your house & showing all the areas we just visited tonight! Almost ready to make an offer. Do you still love the area? We are both smitten with the beauty! Saw a gator in the pond, too! So excited!

That was a cute story. A neighbor’s husband was bugging me so I decided to grab my girls and go see mom. Then we drove out to see my dad in the country ( they had separated). Well, there was a very handsome guy there and we talked a while then left. When I got home my dad calls me throwing a fit, I’m talking a big hissy fit. If that guy calls you, I’ll kick his behind ( did not say behind)! Blah, blah blah. We we’re married 33 yrs or so. He passed away now.

Hi Angela. Great story. Glad y got him. U r so cute. With doesn’t this look nasty. In yr cup. Lol. I have been married 33 years now Have 20 year old twin sons. Love love my family. I met my hubby when we were teens. He was in a rock band. He plays bass guitar. I went to see the band play at a college. Right away. I thought he is a honey. Sooo sweet looking. After. I was introduced to him. He and I shared we were single. Hooray. I waited a good week or so to. To get the call. He finally asked me out. Been with him ever since. He is a sweet heart. He is super funny. Intelligent. Caring. He is a photographer. Plays in a Rock band back then. And he drove a Mach one mustang. Just perfect. Still together and have our two handsome sons

I was 18 and looking at want add's in the paper when a secretary job came up in the next town from me, I was spoiled and my mother said why bother you can work in the family business if you want, and I just blew her off and called for an interview, got hired that day, the next week I was in the lobby with my new coworker getting ready to go to lunch, and in walks my now husband all dressed up in a 3 piece suit with brief case so handsome, I said wow I wonder who he is, my new friend says oh I know him he was my boss at another company, he started working here and brought me with him and I got the job I have now, so she calls him over and invites him to lunch with us, and he asked me to dinner that evening and 7 months later I was married, and quit that job to stay home, and that was 56 yr's ago, we are just as in love now as then and have 1 daughter who is in law. Thank God I did not listen to my mother and went for the interview or we would of never met.
Such a cute sotry!! Just goes to show: one of the best ways to meet someone is through a friend/relative or an event or even at a bar. I can't tell you how many "I met hm/her at a bar" stories Iv'e heard.
My husband not only remembers the dress I was wearing (red lace) which I still have folded in a drawer but he STILL has the shirt he was wearing when we first kissed. And he still has my first business card I gave him the day we met. It will be 25 years ago this October when we met. 23 years this August. 2nd wedding for both of us.
