- Bill Haley was an American rock and roll musician (1925 - 1981). For many he has been the first who popularized rock and roll music in the early 1950s and million-selling hits such as "Rock Around the Clock", "See You Later, Alligator", "Shake, Rattle and Roll".
Spotlight was a music show for the youth, which was aired between 1968 and 1978 by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). It was the counterpart to the shows "Beat Club" or "Musikladen" in Germany. - Hudba

It’s good to see Bill Haley could still sing 20 years after he started the Rock n Roll craze. He’s been largely forgotten but his early hits were the beginning of the explosion of Rock n Roll that came afterwards!

The drummer, Wayne Stephen, was a dear friend to my family. Many who knew him can attest to his crazy sense of humor that would have people rolling on the floor wetting their pants. He was one in a bazillion. He passed away in 2000 and I still miss him every day.
Bill Haley & The Comets did introduce Rock 'n Roll to the world & built up a following of enduring fans everywhere!

What an absolutely indisputable legend. THE creator of rock’n’roll,..a fascinating example, too, of a pre-rock, Western Swing and Jazz - influenced showmanship and musicianship that allowed for veritable metres of space for the crackerjack players he ALWAYS surrounded himself with.

This would of been just after Rudy passed away. Little did anyone know what Bill was going through at this point. His wife Martha spoke up about it, this was a very dark time.

Most people 35 or younger will only know rock around the clock which is sad because this guy and many others are the reason you are listening to say Katy Perry or Ed Sheeran or Harry styles etc

yep sadly,he used the Double bass just for this one song,and here more for posing . one the other songs he plays electric bass,so the typical Bill Haley Nothern Band Style Rock n roll sound was gone,but Bill s Voice was still great.
